My copy of the record is the 1983 Columbia reissue. I found it at a flea market in 2009. I actually have the original on 8 track. I got it on ebay in 2020. It's my 2nd favorite Billy Joel album.
Well I have recently picked up a copy of this LP, pretty sure it is an original pressing. But, one difference that I've noticed on my copy compared to this one here, is that the label on mine has "stereophonic" & side 1 or side two info on the left side of the label, where the original you show here just says "stereo" & it's on the right side of the label......
I managed to find a great copy for $6.97 at my local Half Price Books and Records. It is a cutout copy, but not a bootleg. I was thrilled to finally snag one in the wild. Pretty sure the store didn't know what they had their hands on.
I’m still not sure if I have an original. I have the stars on the vinyl but the picture seems blurry on the sleeve. Also on the actual vinyl label is says BILLY JOEL in silver letters
Ed, thanks for the video I see you are a Billy Joel geek like me!! What's your take on the new Vinyl BOX set that's coming out in November? I'm getting conflicting reports that it's NOT being remastered from the team of Ted Jensen at Sterling Sound? In fact they told me they are NOT involved. Then again all the blitz media advertising says they are? Now I believe his team did the Complete Album Collection on cd's a couple of years back, so I presume if you just put the cd's into vinyl you could claim that the Ted Jensen groups put this together? I was hoping we'd get the Vinyl Collection Volume 1 taken from the original analog tapes. Oh well thoughts?
(( ..ah know they tried, remastered, etc. But Why o why, with allll the tech, (goin to Mars, etc, etc.) had/has no one assimilated a 'speed' of this album that emulates a more accurate 'Billy's' actual voice' Please? (((whoof, sorry!

He Moved yo Columbua Tevords yhen on 83 Terecorde & Rereleased Cold Sorong Hatbor Bit It Wasn't Rxwctly yhe Same sd CSH #1 (Mistake IMHO # 2 Slightly Changed Material Wasn't as Good)

I could tell the one on "your left", or our right was lesser quality image. I could tell right away.

How would one even locate a 1971 original? I've had the '83 reissue, but I can't find the original anywhere online:(
