- This video shows the final step in the funeral process, the sealing in lowering of a burial vault.
This vault is a Wilbert Monticello, one of the most common Burial vaults chosen by families in the area I provide services.
This Vault has a plastic protective interior that is shielded from the weight of the earth with concrete surrounded the lid and the base. The seal is housed in the groove of the lid and activates when the tongue of the base enters the groove and spreads the butyl adhesive seal across both liners.

This guy does a fantastic job setting up everything 👍👍👍
5:10 how do you get the cable out from under all that weight ? A couple of pieces of dunnage under the vault ?
I can’t believe that apparatus can easily lift all that. Very interesting !
Where I live, in Pennsylvania, the vault is already in the bottom of the grave unsupported. After services, the casket is lowered into the vault or onto the slab and the upper of the vault is then placed. The vault never rises.
Yep Same where I Live in Florida, The Lid Probably isnt sealed properly like in the video!
32 and 65. Michele and Jeff were young.
Bon courage monsieur pour ce que vous faîtes
When I go, I just want a cardboard box. All this virtual stuff is such a waste of money.
That’s your choice others believe they want to spend more
You are going to need Your money?
I hope that those cables that the vault is supported on get a regular inspection and replacement as needed. The lifting mechanism too.
If I recall correctly he explained in an earlier video that they regularly check and test the equipment.
Can you still get buried in a simple pine box?
yes
Yes but you will most likely need to be in a vault or graveliner…
Who ever doing the likes, make your mind up
