Personally I'll never do a steel or brass pivot pin. The plastic works just fine. Brass is too soft and I'd be concerned steel is too hard. SMG is usually quite hard on the clutch mechanism which could lead to worn through release arm. Otherwise great job man. I wish i had a lift when i did my SMG refresh earlier this year. As much a it was fun, ot was also quite rough on jack stands
Agree! The factory pivot pin works great! And I'll second the jack stands not being fun! It helps with a low protract jack but not by much
CAN codes come up because SMG Control Unit goes off line to save adaptation values, power cycling. Though all those codes should clear right away, I've found DSC Module sometimes requires clearing twice and a power cycle to be in agreement lol.
We have found the same about DSC!
Do yall have any idea if DSC module needs to be repaired or replaced if the code is 5DF5, I know it’s usually 5DF0 or 5DF1 that is common, when i checked details on the code, it just say internal fault, been trying to figure if I’m missing something, is it the same?
How much does this install vary for a 6MT e6X?
From our 6 speeds we found it doesn't differ much. We will be doing a 6MT next!
