It would be very interesting to compare Moza TSW with Fanatec Nascar in the context of a truck simulator. Yes, this steering wheel was not designed specifically for this, but it is the second largest steering wheel after TSW. And it also Direct Drive!
I would recommend getting the normal R5 bundle for like 500 bucks and then later get the TSW wheel. If you dont want the ESC wheel you can also get the bundle with the R5 and TSW for like 600 bucks
100% I've been playing racing/sim games for abt 10-12 years and i just got a Moza R12 with all the peripherals like shifters and wheels and it's an extreme game changer. Sooo smooth and so much more fun to drive. I can actually keep playing all day if i'd want to and not get bored.
I think for beginners you should use a budget friendly wheel then upgrade later. Of course it's up to you. Another budget friendly wheel to check out is the Logitech g923 offers good performance for ETS2
I just got it….went from Thrustmaster TX Leather edition to it and it’s a big jump….but then it cost almost as much as my 4080 so it’s not cheap for the ecosystem….you do get what you pay for though, so I agree with this video, it’s a game changer and total immersion….goes well with my VR setup.
As much as I'd love such a Moza wheel, everything is a paid extra. You pay the price of a G29 for the wheel, another time for the base (or you can get a cheaper R5, for ETS I don't think it matters), the shifter, pedals and future sticks also sold separately.. Overall you're looking at a 1000$ setup, or you can just wait until Christmas, when Hori will release the all-in-one ETS kit, that includes everything you need and more (For example a H shifter with 30 or so extra, ETS function labeled, buttons).
That's simply because MOZA is using direct drive technology and hori uses gear/belt just like the cheaper G29. All direct drive wheels come separately. It's not just moza doing this. If you look at any other direct drive wheel from any other rand, you will see that wheels and bases come separate. Direct drive is way way better than gear/belt for force feedback. That's why it's more expensive. And the other benefit is modularity. You can easily change to a car wheel or even a f1 wheel. you can't really do this with gear/belt driven wheels Yes I agree that it's expensive, but you get what you pay for. It's designed to be a high end product for enthusiasts
@AP_101 I know it's better for racing, but for ETS it's not a big difference. Ps. The G series is also modular, you just have to unscrew the middle 6 screws
You have to consider that while the Hori is a bit cheaper, you're also paying a lot of money for an outdated technology and a setup that can only really be used for trucking. With Moza, you get a current technology that is of way higher quality than anything gear- and belt-driven wheels could ever deliver and you get an open platform that can be used for all sorts of driving. Also, Hori is really only a bit cheaper. In my country, I'd pay 600€ for the Hori while a Moza R3 Bundle (400€) + the truck wheel (+300€) would be only 100€ more - and in that setup you'd have two wheels, considering the bundle comes with one.
@MikoOhneHose for that price it might be a good deal, but since I already own a G series, the Hori one looks better for me. It has all the functionality premapped
I was thinking to buy the truck wheel bundle but Im from Greece and they dont deliver here.. So im trying to find a shop that delivers in Greece in order to buy it
Looking forward to the comparison with the hori truck control system I play on t818 but don't want to switch to moza for ets2 because in simracing my t818 with sf1000 wheel is enough for me especially since I mainly play ets2 and ats.
Hey, just a quick question, how did you get the rpm lights to work in ets? ive tried many times and watched so many videos this is basically the only one i can find where someone has them working
I assume you mean for G29... You need to have FanaLED software. You may need to decrease some parameters like upshift and pitlimiter, I can't remember exactly, but yeah I also only discovered this when making this very video... after owning the G29 for 3 years 🥲 For MOZA TSW, it works without any additional setup
@AP_101 just last week, I originally had the formula 2.5x fanatec gear and although not the best for trucking it was a wheel at that, saw the moza TSW and knew I would have to change to moza and get it 😅 apparently in pit house I have to go to menu and on the right find euro truck and click configure, that's all the problem was
Honestly if I'd buy an expensive setup I'd rather prefer to buy the new HORI TruckSystem. Its expensive asf but in we're aleready spending a lot I feel that setup will be way better and its even waaay cheaper than the full set of MOZA its almost half of the price for the same kit which its almost funny. For now as 90% of the people say, G29 its just the best you can get for the less. Anyways, great video I hope we see more vids like this cuz this one are really useful too.
Thanks, glad you found the video useful. The price difference is simply because MOZA is using direct drive technology and hori uses gear/belt just like the cheaper G29. All direct drive wheels are more expensive than the gear/belt driven wheels from any brand. Direct drive is way way better than gear/belt for force feedback, durability and quietness. And the other benefit is modularity. You can easily change to a car wheel or even a f1 wheel. you can't really do this with gear/belt driven wheels Yes I agree that it's expensive, but you get what you pay for. so the new wheel has all kinds of parts is like what $2000 $3000 australian lol when u can pick up a real car for the price not to bang up sorry but as nice as it is sorry but no
Well it's not like the wheel would be incompatible... you can even set any angle of rotation, all the way from 90 degrees to 2700. But I guess it wouldn't be as immersive or realistic for a car driving, well especially fast paced racing. Maybe I should first try one day 🤣
Well fundamentally no, MOZA would be out of business if that was true 🤣 🤣 Trust me, there are people who spend a lot of money on driving setups. A few have even purchased after watching these videos using my link!
I'm pretty sure it's only for moza wheel bases, because it not only has to connect to the wheelbase, but it also sits on/around the base. There's a small chance it could work with third party wheelbases through the moza hub but it's physically impossible to attach it to fixed wheel setups like the G29
@AP_101 Thanks! All I really wanted to do is to get a bigger quick release racing wheel and attach it to the moza quick release adapter, since I wanted something bigger and cheaper.
Yes, it's an upgrade but G29 is now almost 10 years old, and it uses the old gear system for force feedback, which also makes a lot of noise. Direct drive is totally silent and is much better for force feedback, durability, and modularity (can swap wheels)
I use the G29 with the right parameters it is not too bad to drive and much better than a controller! You need to use steering non linearity at 1.2 to 1.25 That way you drive much better in Highway situations. However you still feel the gears compared to moza...
Why comparing G29 if G923 is out for a long time? If logitech is 4x cheaper thats not budget wheel. Moza cost 4 x more which defines him too expensive for what it is. And when will be so widely sell isnstores worldwide? I think never.
The main reason I compared with Logitech G29 is because that's the only other wheel I have. I don't have a big collection of wheels 😅 The main reason for the big price difference is the direct drive technology vs gear/belt driven wheels.
