      @@TheThaiger Really? Send a Thai and a Foreigner to buy a house, then compare the two prices. They won't be the same.

    When an asset becomes a liability.
    All these houses in beautiful projects come with an annual maintenance fee. For a condo its about 25,000THB. Once acquired it is very hard to sell, because Thais have a funny habit of targeting new houses only (not buying 2nd hand). So IMO the best to rent.
    However, if you want to own, build a house on your (wife's/GF) land. Much cheaper and affordable. You're not tied to a maintenance contract with a company.

    Who have 600.000 dollar to spend on house?
    And why when you can built a house för 500.000 Baht:)
    I did that soon 20 years ago in north thailand.

      20 yrs. ago is not today. Are you paying the same price for anything that you bought 20 yrs ago? How much are eggs now and how much then? You can't compare the past with the present and live in the present.

    20 million baht is a lot of money in Thailand. And, as Luce says, "you can't own the land." You could marry Thai and she could own the land. Risky.

    I've been to houses in Phuket that are basically shacks. They are in the poorer areas where not of the tourist hotels are. I'll be buying near there if I want something....cheap & cheerful instead of bonkers 600k lottery win homes!

    Buying a villa for that price to never own the land?.. I believe the market it’s a bit overpriced with the current legislation in Thailand😅

    $600,000 is ฿22 million. For that you could pay for a receive lavish benefits from every official in Phuket!

      No 51% has to be in the name of a Thai owner. Foreigners, except under million dollar vip visas, cannot own a majority of land.

    What 600k gets you in Phuket? Nothing. Anyone who pays these stupid overinflated prices when you can buy a property in your own western country, rent it out and flip it for a tidy profit in a short time. Not much money to be made in real estate in Thailand.

    • @farshimelt
      @farshimelt Год назад

      It's for people who want to live in Thailand, not for people who want to make money in real estate in Thailand. Besides, that's one of the professions not open to foreigners.

    Buys you 49% of. Ɓy Thai law a nonThai can only own Less than 50% of land in Thailand. Many swindles, thefts and exwives have lessened the desire to buy land as Thai Courts always back the Thai citizens when it comes to land ownership.
