Harmer & Keshav absorbed about 37 overs to "stick around" : a Tremendous batting partnership. . . .
It speaks volumes when Simon Harmer looks like your most organised Batsman. South African Cricket needs a complete revamp from top to bottom.
But they r running behind the t20 league organization. The output of that league will be a big 0
And your most organized bowler. He bowled really well. Only guy who looked like more of a threat was Nortje
It’s their stupid quota policy that hurts South African sport at all levels.
I absolutely agree he has a stable batting action.
I wake up every 5 am(IST),but from second day to fifth day 4:30 because of this summer, from 1999 wc I support madly and heartedly for Australia, from Steve Wough's captaincy to the present captaincy, and till my death I will support this team, love Australia's cricket, love test cricket and I just wanna to see the the mace in the hand of Cummins. Hope my dream will br fulfill.
What a batting effort from Maharaj and Simon Harmer in the 1st innings. But sad to see Harmer got out on 47 runs in just 165 balls 😢. But Maharaj batted really nicely. 🤯🤯👏👏
Yep!
Maharaj would be an all rounder if he could bowl….
Josh Hazlewood just ages like fine wine. What a comeback that was! While Pat Cummins bowled a spell of his lifetime at the back end of Day 4! The pace trio of Australia even after all these years has remained intact and they're still the best pace attack in the test world right now. Add the goat and you have the best bowling attack in test cricket. Just fascinating!
and against that bowling line up India beat them two consecutive times on their own home.

SA thoroughly out played in all 3 games. But, it was nice to see their batters finally show some fight this match, and hold out to force the draw. With SA 20 for 251 from just 86 overs in the 1st test, and 20 for 393 from 137.3 overs in the 2nd test, it looked like Australia was going to get the win easily with 160-170 overs available to bowl.
Lyon's luck on day 5s are something else
Khawaja has a Smile outside but regrets not reaching 200 from Inside 😪. If Win was the result he would have been happy for Early declaration.
I think you've more regret than Khawaja
@@hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii540 yeah man this guy really thinks him and usman could be good mates irl

Hard luck SA
But Aus was so dominating this series, I was expecting more competition. Credit to the Australian players they were ruthless
Can’t call it hard luck. SA never even got close to competing with Aus. Maybe at points in the Gabba test, but apart from that, the series just showed the gulf of quality between the two sides.
@@nikunjdixit3225 you can't compare quality only in Australia. I know Aus played much better cricket, but this SA team is not that experienced and you'll get to know better when Aus play in SA

Terrible from Elgar. Completely unexpected from a batter of his caliber
i think he has hit the wall ;( He's around 34-35 this could be the end of his top form. He is my favourite Batsman in SA team, sad to see time catch up with him, if it is his age causing his poor form
It's frustrating that it was the exact same dismissal as several times this year, nibbling on the leg side.
His batting dropped off after he became captain I think he can still bat but not captain at the same time

@@nicknicholas3633Such a moronic thing to say given all the OP stated were facts.
It’s honestly a genuine problem. I think 7 out of last 10 tests have been draws at the SCG. It’s anyways the flattest pitch in Aus, but the weather in the last few years makes it difficult to get a result.
Warner won man of the series I had a panic attack after heard tiz news...most undeserved award in cricket history
The Aussies had their tails up for the entire series. Well played to them. Am a staunch Proteas fan and believe we shall have our form back in the not too distant future.
Hope so man, enjoy the upcoming sa20 tournament. Will be exciting to watch our cities go head to head
Great batting by Keshav Maharaj & Simon Harmer
Excellent match even though it ended in a draw. I continue to love the Australian fight in all departments, and S.A. managed to salvage great respectability with a gritty save on the last day. Test cricket remains real cricket now and forever.

Well done to the South African team for holding on.
I would have been very nervous as to whether our team (Australia) would have held their nerves and not succumbed
Well they are nice looking forward to the ashes we’ll be seeing a competitive ashes after a long time
The 2019 one wasn’t competitive it was just that headingley miracle that spiced it up
Good result, and good practice for the dull pitches the poms will serve up in the next Ashes series👍
For Highlights quality ACB you are awesome 👍
WIth this result Proteas can still make it to the test world championship finals assuming Sri Lanka and India lose all their remaining games. Still, assuming that happened, they would face Australia again, and it's a bit of a shame to say, but even if they made it, I don't think SA has what it takes for this cycle. Fair enough, they have had strong results in test in 2022, but they need to rethink the playing XI and start fresh for the new cycle. And it will be tough, for some of their trademark test players won't last 4 more years at the top level.

Team game mate.
@@MegatronRacing237 like one over will matter that much
@@mskadwa All well and good to be wise aftter the event but that one over would have taken approx 20 minutes, all things considered. As was stated it is a TEAM game and there is no better a team member than Khawaja.
Feeling for khawaja
One person who will be the most frustrated for this draw is Usman Khawaja Cummins did not allow him to complete his maiden 200 with early declaration.
I agree. The amount of rain should have told him that he's never in a million years gonna bowl SA out twice. Allow the Batsman his Milestone....but he's a bowler. Will probably never see the importance of such a milestone. But overall I'm happy Kwuwaja is back opening the batting.
Should have batted faster then
He would have told Cummins that morning to declare.
It's not about fairy stories but rather trying to get a positive result.
Aussies have their eyes on Indian tour. They prepared this kinda spinning wicket to practice for India. It's going to be a competitive series, for sure.
But its not even 40 % of indian spinning tracka
@pranavgaming2140 Yeah, none can emulate Indian pitches, but they tried to get as close as they can interms of pitch and preparation.
@@dheeraj7592 Australia has some wickets that are much like Indian wickets but they are generallly in our outback or in the desert.
@flamingfrancis looks like someone started to give excuses even before the series could start 😂
Maharaj shows offence is the best form of defense. Very well played against a top class team by a lower order bat
Feel sad ,USman didnt get a chance to go for 200.
He may regret it years later.
Well played Keshav Maharaj 👏👏👏
The Aussies are on a roll right now. Without doubt number 1 ranked test side! Let's see how they perform in England this Summer. A rejuvenated England side with their "Baz-ball" style of cricket, with the Dukes ball in English conditions could see the Aussies pushed hard this Summer to keep the Ashes:
Apart from Lyon , others were doing time pass on spinning track ,
Other spinner could not set traps for batters. Look hurry on spinning track , skills are required on spinning track too.
The cricket gods weren't in Lyon's favour this day.
Looks like luck will even out in india
Amazing to think that a squad that contained Warner, Smith, Kawaja, Cummings, Starke, Hazelwood, Lyons, the Marsh brothers, etc were humbled by the Proteas by 322 runs in their last SA test, as well as taking the series just 4 years ago. The difference was back then, SA had players like de Villers, Amla, du Plessis, de Kock, Philander etc in the team. Now we still have a very good bowling attack but dont have batting resistance of substance - our poor bowlers have nothing to bowl at.
Cannot wait for the next big tour in June.
Top class umpiring! Paul riefel and chris gaffney!
You forgot Mr. Kettleborough.
Sa needs a complete revamp...from coaches to management to players.
Congratulations team Australia🎉🎉
It’s crazy how so few of the SA players are in the test team now
Good Highlights 😍 Good Test match😍. love from Bangladesh😍 Chandpur
I know country comes first but they should have given uzi 2 or 3 overs to complete his double ton im oz by heart ❤️❤️❤️ love from Kashmir
Man imagine denying Khawaja his double ton, dropping Scott Boland, and pinning all your hopes and dreams on... Ashton Agar 😂
To be fair, our ‘front line’ ‘spinner’ bowled twice as many overs for zero wickets in the 2nd innings and almost 2 and half for the total match for a grand total of 2 wickets on a supposedly spin friendly track. Lyon has a habit of not delivering final day when the Aussies need him to do you can’t be too harsh on Agar
Agar is needed on spinning wickets of India. And Boland and Hazlewood are similar bowlers so makes no difference
You clearly need to learn what a TEAM sport is and to stop pretending you are a budding selector
5:39 had me screaming at the tv

Great effort by maharaj and harmer
Nice turn from Marnus
Australia is very smart made A spinning pitch before come to India ? 🙄🤔 It will be interesting and exciting Series IND VS AUS 😍
I somehow still feel brad haddin is still the keeper
Never grew out of the champion team of 2000s and the one under Clarke, after that simply lost it
In this modern era of cricket in Australia, didn't expect any pitch to be so docile not offering much to the bowling side on the first three days only when the pitch worn down Australia capitalize on the uneven bounce and deteriorating extract spin, if SA had batted first might had a balance game not to mention the rain ☔ played a major spoiler in SA favor...
Lyon is so unlucky…😢😢😢
Probably dozens of umpire’s call….

Khwaja deserved a double century.
Rain at SCG is never ending story. It saved Eng team from whitewash in the Ashes 2021-22 in Sydney and now it saved SA team from whitewash against Aus in Sydney. 😂😂

Was such an even series from the Aussies, no obvious standouts with bat or ball.
Smith was the only one who had only one failed at bat. Warner had 3!
and with ball, Starc, Cumins and Lyon shared the load, but Cummins could have easily bene player of the series - 12 wickets at 17, S/R 43.
Sad to see that south african batting strength has gone to such low level, there was time when Smith, Amla, Kallis, De Villiers, du Plessis, Duminy used to make team scores around 400-450 easily and steyn, philander with morkel stop opposition having lead with top notch bowling
Aussie should let Usman to reach his double century (just 5 runs left).
It didn't change the game result at all.
Dean elger last couples times down the lag side 😂😂
Today, the DRS showed why it is so flawed. I can say this. Pitch and hitting the wicket should be the only things that should be determined on LBW's (and the half ball rule is extremely dumb too). Impact should not matter, like AT ALL. If the ball is hitting the wicket, it doesn't matter where it hits your pads. If it hits your pads and it's hitting the wicket, you should be out every single time. The umpire deserves no say where it's hitting the pads. If it's gonna hit the wicket, it's out.
Well done team...
I really hope Zampa is picked for the India tour
Was there an un announced world record here? Nathan Lyon bowled the exact same ball 600 times in a row for bugger all result.
Lyon is legend 🙌
Big test for Aussies now to face India in India next month against Axar Ashwin & Jadeja on the Indian rank turner & India are unbeaten in last 13 years at home & just lost 2 test matches one vs Australia in 2017 Pune & One vs England in chennai in 2021
The world saw another Aust victory, denied by some weather. They were totally in charge all the way thru.
2-0 is better than 3-0 i guess, but still not much on display in this game to console SA on the flight home.
Congratulations Australia.
Proteas are thankful for the weather.
Wow marnus bowling like sen worn
After four days of interruptions, finally a full day's play and full credit to Harmer and Maharaj to eat out time to deny Aussies a clean sweep.
Elgar been dismmising the same way down the leg side again ! He will be back
It would have been better if 🇿🇦 showed this type of fight earlier the series. This series would have been much more interesting 🔥
You can't really count the first test. It was a bit of a lottery on that pitch IMO. Australia winning the toss in the second and third tests made it very difficult for South Africa to win. It was quite predictable that Australia would bat first and build up a huge score on a good pitch.
@@portcullis5622 well then Africa should have put big score as well when they got opportunity as they batted first in both first and second test!! Stop giving excuses mate!!
It was not fight. SA were saved by rain. Almost entire 2 days washed out, if the match was actually played for 5 days, SA would have lost easily
@@utkarshakarki6015 My mistake. Apologies. I am actually a neutral, but I have been following too many different test series recently and got confused. Australia deservedly won the second test, so deserved to win the series. I still maintain that the first test was a bit of a lottery. Same for both teams and exciting stuff but on a pitch that wasn't really up to test standard. South Africa have a good bowling attack, but their batting is fragile (as was shown in England in 2022).
@@portcullis5622 how was the first match lottery though? The pitch was same throughout the test match and aus scored more runs and took leaf and eventually won the match, what do you mean by lottery? Did the pitch swung and seamed wildly in 1st day and didn't swing since or what? Tell me how that was lottery
