I go out with a girl (whether she's my date or just a friend) I'll pay. But when it comes to female friends make sure the actions are always reciprocated. I feel like a man should pay for the first date. Any dates after we can actually split. That is what my husband and I did and now we are married. He would pay for dinner and I would pay for the movie. I paid to show him that he is not dealing with a gold digger and that I value him enough to offer to pay. After 8 years, we are still going strong. I never asked him for money or expect him to pay for everything and he said that is one reason he respects me and knew I was the one for him. Now I'm in nursing school and he pays all the bills so I can focus on helping build a financially stable family and he doesn't mind one bit because he knows the type of woman I am and I have his full respect. I havent been on the dating scene for a while but when I first met my husband, he always offer to pay. I can pay for my own but he's working on getting my affections and I didnt want him not to pull an effort. However, I always insist on going to places where I know it is more economical for him. Once, he invited me to an expensive restaurant. He had never been there so he didnt have an idea how expensive it could get. When we looked at the menu, i saw bullets of sweat trickling down his face. I closed the menu, said I didnt like the food and got up. I then suggested a restaurant that serves good food that is more within the budget. I know he was happy in thinking he made a good impression and I sure was relieved that I didnt blew up his bank account.

When I went on dates (many moons ago, before my marriage) I automatically paid for my portion of the bill. If my date insisted he paid, then I would treat him to a movie, or drinks or a round of minigolf etc. I never let my date foot the entire bill (even if I wasn't into the guy...I still.respected him) I wanted him to know I didn't expect anything from him, that he should not expect anything from me and that when I do things...its fair.
So in essence what Mr Steve is saying is that if a woman pays the bill once in a while, then it means the man doesn't care for her. Now that doesn't make sense.

First dates are meant to be the time to impress. I would never chase a man or be the one to ask him out. If I am invited out by a man because he’s interested in me, he pays. What happened to the days when men wooed and courted women?? Men would bring you flowers or a small gift, dressed nice, didn’t have a cell phone to look at constantly. Ladies don’t settle for any shmuck! We can buy our own dinners or drinks, we don’t need to do it sitting next to a “man” that most times aren’t worth it!!
At one time men had to woo women, decades ago back when men were providers. But here in 2020, women have begun to dominate all the high paying jobs once held by men, so in other words, women have collectively decided to become providers. It's a futile endeavor for a man to try and impress a woman with his money when she herself is a working woman that earns as much as he does. Perhaps you didn't receive the memo, but it's typically the socially uncalibrated "shmucks" who shower women with dinner and gifts on the first date.
Now the corollary is also true, in that if a woman can't pay for her own meal on the first date, thats a red flag. It may indicate that she's a moocher that won't be contributing financially to the relationship. If all you bring to the table are your ovaries, then you are so replaceable it's not funny (by a more desirable working female that will happily pay 50-50 on dates). The reality is that a cheap stingy female could never compete with a working female, all other things being equal. Working females snag all the high value men, and the cheapo females remain single well into their 30's at which time they have to settle for the same shmucks that they mocked back in their 20's.
Bottom line, if you like her enough, you'll pay. If you know you'll never see her again, you won't wanna pay.

There isn't a wage gap by the way the reason man technically get paid more is because they tend to put their career first while women put family first, men are also more ambitious and seek out promotions, they work longer hours averagely and put in more effort and they also seek out higher paying jobs like lawyers, engineers while women go for lower paying jobs like teachers, etc. The reason many feminist think there is a wage gap is because they like to twist statistics and information in their favour and they will reject and ignore facts that do not go well with them.

This is so on point.
I think that's something women need to realize more but on the other hand we have to be aware that money isn't the only way to make someone feel appreciated. A lot of men that I know Express their Love by spending money and buying a gift or getting something nice to show their love for their partner a lot of women show their love by being affectionate or dressing up for their partner to make them feel nice. That doesn't mean that the other partner in the relationship can't take on those other roles every now and then which I think is healthy and would be very nice but we also have to keep in mind how the majority of men and women communicate when showing love and how different those languages often are.

I do think that it's polite and gentleman like to offer to pay if you are the one to ask a girl out. Because you are the one asking her to accompany you. If it was the other way round the girl should offer. That's just how I see it. And in my experiences the guys that don't offer to pay often are quite selfish disrespectful individuals in general. If we would go to a quite pricey restaurant I would insist on splitting the bill because I wouldn't want to let him pay that much but if we are just getting a coffee somewhere like common...

Like when you ask your friends "Hey, you want to get something to eat?" Do you buy all your invited friends their meals. Probably not. Even though you are the one that technically invited them out. Now for the coffee. Yes, I can agree with you that paying for someone else's coffee is just fine. Especially for a get to know you sort of date before an actual date.
