Trains at Doncaster - 02/04/2024

Filmed on 02/04/2024. After a grand time at one of the main terminus stations along the Midland Mainline, we move onwards to the second station which is the main rail link along the East Coast Mainline and the station in South Yorkshire, Doncaster (Season 11 Episode 6)
So, and even for just under 2 hours there is always something happening and a lot of mixed variety of the goings in and out. After the previous day, special as it worked Hull to Paignton, The Midland Pullman HST set with power cars no. 43049 & 43055 (former East Midlands Railway) is seen stabled at Doncaster West Yard sidings as it works empty ECS movement back to its base in Crewe.
The competition between Lumo and LNER linking London Kings Cross to Edinburgh is still on with LNER servicing for major Yorkshire and North East stations but Lumo runs non stop between London Kings Cross to Newcastle with some services calling at Stevenage. At York, Lumo did run by the loop line by passing York station but now see's services running through York. Unlike LNER, Lumo only offers standard class accommodation whilst LNER offers both First and Standard Class.
The pride of the East Coast Mainline is the ironic class 91/225 sets which all sets are now repainted into InterCity Swallow livery. Their key workings is London Kings Cross to Leeds with a few daily working to York and a late night service to York which only sets down passengers only.

Oh yeah, those were the glory days. Bring back them days as it's how and should the railways be.
A little bit of VP185 power to add to the variety. It did the long run from Hull to Paignton the previous days.
