By 1993, haulage wise it's all that was left (apart from AC electrics on Inter City) with the green pair of 26s on the Kyle's once or twice a week, a brief shot is seen here, along with some other loco action ruclips.net/video/D9E640eOdyo/видео.html.
Good to see and hear the Cl37 in action on ScotRail - but disappointing to see how litter strewn and weed covered Waverley station is. A definite downward spiral in track maintenenace from the BR 70/80s. A poor introduction to visitors first sight of our capital's main station
Ah, the days of having the door open before you stop in order to leap out for a quick getaway-happy days! Unlike now where certain (thick!) guards announce that "the doors won't open until the train has come to a complete stop", utter bo**ocks, there is no such thing as a complete stop, if the wheels are still rotating then the train is still moving, it hasn't stopped!!! A bit like the new 700s & 717s with their "final destination" announcements, again, no such thing, a train has only one destination, its final stopping place-there's is no 'final' destination (although there is a final station stop), and these are the people who run our railway, who can't get basic english right, no one it's such a mess!!!
@@SoiBuakhaoRoutemasterbus When on the southern electrics and north wales coast loco hauled stock in the late 90's, it was great fun opening the door before the train had stopped! I have to agree with you about the mis use of English on todays railways. Also the endless health and safety announcements at stations. Makes you wonder how the railway survived 150+ years without them!
Some great 37 action there thanks for posting. 👍🙂
You're welcome. I have more to come, Scotland Wales and some in England, 37's got about a bit (as did i!)......
Amazing footage of the 37s one of my favourite trains!
