Juice Wrld’s music (specifically Goodbye & Good Riddance and earlier) definitely has more Lil Peep influence than anything, down to the melodies and vocal patterns, but i get where you’re coming from

Someone told me x had no idea what it was to be a real musician and I told him he played the guitar, drums and piano fluently, can sing and do almost every style of music.... And he dismissed it. I mean what more do you need to do to be considered a true artist smh.

Hey, a few recommendations:
Mac miller (he has a number of great albums with a lot of contrast in styles)
Lil Wayne (he has loads of classic albums but the carter's are his best works)
JID (I'd go with his two most recent albums the never story and DiCaprio 2)
I think you'd get a lot of enjoyment out of these artists as they are each very lyrical but all have very unique styles and personalities.

x was a young genius in development - he came from the ghetto and the ghetto mentality and emotional deprivation and poverty of living with no real role models and positive male influences, discarded the negative and was on a positive upward journey. His music and lyrics are the equivalent of Hiku poems and move through all emotions from young out of control joyful excess and bravado of raw heartfelt energy to the well thought through clever inventive introspective, hopeful and deep songs. A once in a generation person.
Nobody comes close to X for me but only artist I listen to a lot is juice wrld clearly inspired by X and peep but has his own lane also

I think what makes X so great was his versatility, mixed with his his heart (Among other things of-course). Its amazing to think he was putting out music at such a young age, at such a high level. Not only that, but every genre he did he fucking killed. When he rapped he sat among the best rappers of our generation, especially when you think of other 'hot' artists at this time like lil pump. He could do metal, pop, prog, and just straight up sad tracks that created so much emotion, and resignated with so many others. He for sure was the best artist of our generation in my opinion. Alot of artists from this generation cant do one genre at X's level, let alone all the other genres he could do at the same level if not higher. The last point is his age. he was so young, and I honestly can't disagree that given more time he would have been the biggest artist in the world. I would have loved seeing the rest of his journey pan out and see where he could have gotten.. but sometimes life throws a curveball I guess. I get this comment is very long but with an artist like X who had an impact on myself and so many others I honestly don't care how long this is or how long it takes. Seeing JD the Prophets reaction brought back alot of those feelings, so I thought id write this while in my feelings watching this reaction. I fucking cried when X died. I remember discovering his music. The first song I ever heard was RIP ROACH and I thought it was hard af.. then I heard 'Revenge' and he started singing over an acoustic guitar and I instantly fell in love with the Shit. For me there isn't another artist like X that I'm listening to who is so dynamic and versatile and I almost get annoyed when I hear someone else trying replicate what he was doing only because I love his music so much.
