Can't believe it, what a loss. To his family I wish you the strength to carry on and have great lives. Stick together and help each other in all aspects of life.
Tragic loss. I send my love. I still cannot believe we lost a true icon in the hunting community. I have lost a close friend and hunting partner who took his own life, and he is missed dearly.
Phil Lewer I'm really sorry for your loss man. I'm just sickened by all these horrible comments, it honestly makes my blood boil. Didn't even know who Jason was until now, but I can see on all forms of social media how great his following was. He must have been a great guy
So sad I just started geting into hunting. Kuiu is the first peice of equipment I bought and I will continue to use it for these rest of my life. Rest easy Jason you where a huge impact on the hunting community and your legacy is in good hands. Thank you for everything!
yesterday i bought a kuiu jacket to replace the heavy Filson wool coat i have always worn on my wilderness backpack hunts. the Filson is high performance, and weighs five or six pounds, the kuiu weighs just over one pound with nearly the same performance as the heavy wool. at a certain age, for me it is 55, a wilderness hunter must begin paring back weight to preserve what is left of knees, back, joints etc. today I wanted to talk with the kuiu owner to express my appreciation for their careful attention to the needs of wilderness hunters, and i just now learned that jason had died. what a terrible tragedy! high impact sports also left me with life long injuries, and getting through them is tough. i never imagined they could be this tough. i am very sorry to hear jason is gone
I find this hard to believe, he had it all and seemed on top of his game. Should be thoroughly investigated, better than even odds there was foul play involved.

When he put a gun to his head and pulled the trigger, he just wanted to check if the gun was loaded. And wouldn't you know it : it was !!.
Phil, I'm sorry for your personal loss and I'm sorry for Jason's family and friends.
said from the heart.

Awful. I appreciated the advice I got from him. Always great to get it from someone who has been there and done that.
