Firefighters Free Teenager Trapped in Store’s Dressing Room

- A teenager shopping at a New York boutique clothing store ended up trapped inside a dressing room that used to be a bank vault. Giavanna Diesso, 14, was trying on clothes when her little brother, Vincent, decided to pull a prank and close the door. The store owner said the lock on the vault-turned-dressing room had been disabled, but because it was 100 years old, it somehow malfunctioned and locked her inside. Firefighters used hammer drills and chisels to cut through the 1-foot thick vault wall. #InsideEdition
Could tell by the smirk on her little brother’s face that he wasn’t punished too severely for this.
they should punish the brother
For real he should be punished so bad he could never smirk again
I'm sure his smirk was because he was reenacting. I bet he never pranks again and will always remember this.
@@calebtrusty6942 No internet for a month! That would crush his soul 🤣

I bet the sister and mom did when they get home
Same.,!!! 😄😄😄
The vault door didn't malfunction, it locked just like it was designed to do..
Yeah I'm like that's not a malfunction that's a function.
I was just coming to say that. They said they disabled a lock and then the door malfunctioned and locked but it sounds like they had a malfunctioning disable method
they could have just removed the door before opening the shop smh

@@valtersosrs Exactly. But that would have taken a little common sense, which the owner of that store was obviously lacking in.
That kid has no regret. He looks like he’ll do it again
I doubt he knew it would permanently lock her in
I bet he is the type of kid that runs around restaurants and doesn’t get disciplined!!
Or then he's just a kid and didnt realize that the vault door would actually lock shut...

@@iwillstealbradyandlockhimi3523 I think the store itself is probably going to have to pay out of pocket for this. An operational lock with no key or method to open it on a very heavy door, with no sign or even a small piece of rope saying DO NOT TOUCH, IT WILL LOCK AND WE CAN'T RE-OPEN IT
Regardless, the mom has a lesson to teach. Hopefully the kid will listen and learn.
I could tell that mom won't discipline her son when they get home.

So did the brother ever get in trouble or grounded when he trapped his sister in a bank vault which was a dressing room with limited oxygen
he didint know prob thought it was a regular door
They said he did it as a prank he knew what he was doing
@@Yoobster Im sure with cartoons you can tell right away that a heavy squeaky metal door with a sort of crank is a vault door to lock something on the other side. He obviously didn't think about the oxygen but that he knew it was a door hard to open, yes.
they didnt confirm it was so air tight that it had limited oxygen, they just poked the hole at first as a precautionary measure. Dont make it seem worse then it was
Cuz da family white the kid isn’t grounded
The mother should be paying for the damages since she and her son seem to think it's a big joke
Yes
I mean the kid was like 6-7 he probably thought it would open, who would purposely lock their sister/daughter up, need police to let them out, and then not feel bad about it
You would think by now that door would be fully disabled so that when it closes it does not lock at all.
@@UnderGroundMerlin exactly, it was risky to not have the door removed, someone might've closed it, not thinking it's a big deal, and get trapped like she did. The brother was just messing around with her and everyone starts hating on him and his mom when the mom literally said that she was crying while it happened. I don't think she should feel bad when the owners were the people who should've removed the door so that this wouldn't happen at all.
💯💯💯
“Haha Timmy ur so mischievous, that’s our little prankster”
Why couldn't they just make the door unmovable.
True, but the thing is, how?
@@DrAngelKins unsure but there is probably a way to make it unmovable, like weld the hinges.
They could have use of those thick wooden block things.
I would just weld the hinges...
@@reptar69 that’s what I was thinking
Why wouldn’t they remove the door entirely before deciding to use it as a door for the dressing room?🤨
cause its a unique peace
Cause that door is much harder to break than the wall
There is a sign on it that says dont close the door, but yes they could have done more to make it 100% safe. Welding studs on the hinges so that it literally cant close all the way, wiring it open with some n9 wire, some basic preventative measures would have gone a long way.
edit - also parents need to watch your kids, and employees watch the store closely. This reminds me of a story i was told where someone took a dump in the corner of a store, and the employee got fired. Why? if they can take a dump in the store, they can steal from the store, this is kind of in the same vein, watch your surroundings, especially if you have a troublesome child, preventative measures right?

What happened is very tragic but the world and thus the news doesn’t stand still even when tragedies like that happen. Unless there’s more news about the building, why shouldn’t they report other news?
Kind of a "too soon" moment...
They're unrelated stories

They could have taken the approval measures to make sure they would be able to open the door if it was ever locked.
This happened at an office where I worked. They had a new janitor that evening and he shut the vault door. It cost them 4 grand to get it open. Fortunately it was used for storage and no one was in there at the time.
Why would they have a door like that at a clothing store.
they said the store used to be a bank. they probably left the door up for aesthetic, and i give them that it did look adorable, but they failed to find a way to prevent the door from closing.
That boy needs to be taught a lesson. He shouldn’t be smiling.
That's why you need to control your kids and watch what they doing instead of doing stupid stuff like this
The store could’ve used the vault room for extra storage if needed.
What
30 year old: gets years in prison for this prank
Kid: gets grounded for 15 mins
by the look of it, not even that
I mean you can't exactly give a kid a prison sentence for this. Plus I doubt even an adult would get years of jail, not even robbers get that, at most a few months and a big ass fine. Although if he was trying to get into the ladies dressing room then it would be a bit more.
Here’s a thought for the owner. Pay to have the door removed, instead of putting a sign up saying “please don’t touch the doors” and hoping.
"mischievous little brother" is a polite way of saying "he does whatever he wants and never gets in trouble for it."
Great idea to have a vault as a door.... I wonder if it’s used to trap people who won’t pay
