- A Texas woman is suing Florida police for mistakenly arresting her after her cruise in 2022. Jennifer Heath Box was told there was a warrant for her arrest over child endangerment. She tried to explain there was a mistake but cops hauled her off to jail. Box spent three straight days in jail. The Florida police deny any wrongdoing, saying that they arrested Heath Box only after receiving confirmation from Texas authorities that a warrant was issued for her arrest. She was released after authorities determined the woman they were looking for did not match the description.
"We investigated ourselves and found we did nothing wrong."
Right
💯 lol
And yet if we were to imprison any of them for even 5 minutes, the charges we'd face would be numerous.
“Working as Intended”
Corrupted Law Enforcement as usual.
They jailed her for three days!!! Sue the patches off those fools.
Those "fools" aren't going to pay anything. It's the taxpayers that get punished.
💯
@@NoOneHere2Day That should change.
@@DarkWatcher-r2t Not until qualified immunity is taken away or restricted. There is not even a bill being considered in congress for that.
@@randys6220 lol, conservatives will never vote against qualified immunity, the system of NO RESPONSIBILITY at all works great for them, as they usually aren't the target.
The warrant was a for a woman 23 years younger and different height and eye color, and they didn't figure it out for 3 days!? Did they not cross check that info during the processing!?
During booking her driver's license was scanned and showed no warrants. An officer told the arresting officer that and he just shrugged it off.
when its the weekend (Fri, Sat, Sun) its time to chill for the jails 🤷♂
@@gmfitzg yeah, I kinda figured it was probably the weekend. I know a guy who got held on a 72 hour psychiatric hold, but what most people don't know is the 72 hours doesn't start until a judge signs off on the order, and he got the hold on a holiday weekend. By the time the order went into court and the judge signed off on it, it had been 5 days, and his "72" hour hold ended up being 8 days.
There is a case where they put a guy in the jail cell in the basement and they forgot about him.... I think once the person is in the cage, their minds go blank!!!!
Forget the apology, get the money and someone's job,.
I hope she gets every dollar.
Yeah unfortunately the tax payer pays for dumb police work.
Me too
And more than what she wants.
Then who's paying?
@@blakedesmondYes as usual.
It took 3 days to figure out you had the wrong person!!!!
“It happens” lmfao. It happens way too often!!
They didn't even have a photo of her? Just a description and were like "NAH WERE NEVER WRONG, we're the law"
They did. An officer download her photo, the wrong one, to put with the warrant.
Forget the apology. Cops don't apologize to the victims when they did something mistakenly as usual. They never do. All they do is ignoring the apologies and not man enough to handle it.
the age alone should have been the biggest CLUE!!!!
😂😂right!
At the very least the EYE COLOR 👁️👁️
Wow, the police covering up their gross incompetence…I hope she gets a nice payday from the city for that debacle.
*Taxpayers
If you falsely imprison someone due to an error on your part, the least that you can do is apologize.
“It happens”
I’m sorry… what?! No. Arresting someone who doesn’t even meet the physical description and holding them in jail without bond for 3 days does not just “happen.” They’ve caused significant trauma to an innocent woman and couldn’t even give her an apology. She deserves that much.
False imprisonment isn't a "matter closed." I hope she sues.
They always find themselves innocent of any wrong doing.
During the 3 days while they have the wrong person in jail, the real suspect is still out there doing God knows what to her kids.
I hope she gets a good lawyer. That not right.
* Woman loses 3 days of her life in jail. No apology or restitution.
* Police: "It happens"
Three days in jail that's traumatizing. So basically they napped her that's against the law
This means anyone could have you arrested.😢
I’m sorry, the cops missed a two decade age difference? A five inch height difference?
Pay the woman 💰
oh they will have too, the bad part is that the taxpayers pay for the cops' stupidity
Man I smell the word “corruption” all over this video. JUST TAKE ACCOUNTABILITY FOR THAT INNOCENT MISTAKE 🤦♂️🤦♂️
Sheriff's dept. considers the case closed, but her attorney says otherwise. It happens all of the time. Hence why they have to work so hard to write citations. They have to pay for their own stupidity!
Well the police screw up once again and ruined her the mother celebration for his son
They actively ingnored the informatiion just to make an arrest, I'm sure because there was a completely different description of the suspect compared to this lady.
Sounds like they’re gonna have to sue the cops for that.
The calm cooperative demeanour she had shows she knew she did nothing wrong
multiple people saying, they had the wrong person. then cops insisnt. there has been no mistake. like they checked everything off the person they were looking for. but end up only being the same name. i like this irony.
Forget the apology. Cops don't apologize to the victims when they did something mistakenly as usual. They never do. All they do is ignoring the apologies and not man enough to handle it.
ACAB, FTP
Sue police for $3M minimum, and the cruise for $3M minimum
What did the cruise line do?
My dad spent two days in jail, skin color wrong l,name spelled wrong, height weight and eye color wrong... Two days in jail waiting for criminal's parole officer.
how do you mistake someone else for someone else they could've just easily asked her for her ID to see if the birthdate matched up.
The arresting deputy did and lied by telling the lady the information on her license matched exactly the warrant information. Then when her driver's license was scanned at booking another officer told the arresting officer it shows no warrants. The arresting officer just shrugged that off. Even with all of that the Sheriff still claims his deputies did nothing wrong and that the case is closed.
Yeez somebody screwed up somewhere! And I'm pretty sure it's not her
You arrested the WRONG person 💀
How can you mistake a 23 years of difference and wrong eye color.
Most men can't tell the age of women. You get harassed at any age
Hopefully she gets a good amount of money for dealing with those idiots it’s really sad she missed her son leaving
Yup, they deserved that lawsuit
3 days, hell yeah sue them
I can't believe this, they could of checked better than that.
When the police do things like that it should be a kid napping case against them 👀🤔😡 falsely arrested
Followed proper protocol should know what the person idealy looks like before locking up random women with just the same name. These cops sound incompetent. Plus dangerous and mental toll I hope jail has some good insurance for their payout
Omg she should sue them
The Institute for Justice is working with her which is nice to see.
They found no misconduct and they consider the matter closed. I am sure they found themselves innocent.
Right
Well part of the many reasons why you should never trust police😂😂😂😂
lets put a warrant out, for someone called donald trump. and then arrest the former preisdent instead? works appearently
As a navy mom of 2 sons. No amouny of money can replace the missing moments.
Sue them!
Not the sharpest knives in the drawer, our wonderful LEOs
Who would've thought that even after advancements like fingerprints, DNA and facial recognition wrong people can still get arrested
I saw this before. She gave them her birthdate, but they confidently said that hers matched the suspect’s without them even checking.
Oh. And she was mistreated behind bars as well.
Seems like they didn't learn anything.
" They consider the matter closed! " Lol
3 days may seem short to some people but trust me, it’s a very long when you’re in there. I hope she gets justice.
This is disgusting all on its own but what makes it worse is knowing that this took place AFTER she already went through hell watching her loved one fight for their life! Money isn’t enough to fix what was taken from her but I hope she wins every penny and more!
Say what you want, CTG once said:"The craziest people come from South Bronx and all of Florida". Desantis' minions prove so!
$3.3milli should do her justice. What a bunch of idiots the Florida Police in Broward County look like after this case of mistaken idenity.
Lazy police work.
Yes as usual.
Everything The Cops 👮♂️ Always Target The Wrong People
Hi from Australia 🇦🇺 sue them hun you didn't deserve this its so wrong. ❤❤
How can you mess that ID up. The officer is incompetent, you have those type officers out there the problem is the system will excuse it. We investigated ourselves and found we did nothing wrong. FYI these same people were most likely saying the officer were correct in the George Floyd murder case. Everyone should want the police to be: knowledgeable, brave, accountable, selfless, and just but some do not have those traits.
They should pay her for that
Its not the first time and it won't be the last !!!!
SAD !!!!
This happened in Florida. Not surprised
We have incompetent memebers in law enforcement.
This family can't get BACK THEIR SON'S MOST IMPORTANT MOMENTS!
If someone messes up at work but then says that they themselves investigated and found nothing wrong, they’d be seen as a crazy person. But cops can do this every time? 🤦♂️
Both the wrongfully covicted woman & the woman the cops were looking for were both named Jennifer
Men can't tell women's age
Oh dear :(
Imagine 30 years.
It makes me sad that cops would arrest completely innocent people like this. At least it was only for 3 days and not years like in some unfortunate cases. Still sad she had to miss her son going over seas for this and had 3 days taken from her for no reason
The fact that She’s 50 years old??! Is what the actual topic nobody is talking about💯👀
She looks good for 50
She was stone-cold and cool about the situation, too! That's the first indication she was the wrong Jennifer. I hate that she missed her son's deployment because of incompetence.
Get that money! Sorry this happened to you.
the land of the free and the home of the brave…my ass 😂😂😂
Maybe police departments should have some standards for who they hire instead of just hiring people who barely graduated from high school. To get into most police departments all you need is a GED. It's pathetic.
They owe her compensation! I hate that she’s destroyed her face though. She looks like Priscilla Presley🥴🥴
How stupid can you be? They caused trauma to an innocent woman and couldn’t even give her an apology!
WELCOME TO DESANTIS LAND!
They followed all protocol, and did nothing wrong...
But in the end, they had the wrong person in jail for 3 whole days.
That Police district has to pay Up BIG Time.
This case should not even last one day in court.
I hope she gets compensated. This is terrible .Three special days that she could’ve spent with her son stuck incarcerated.
Incompetence is misconduct.
The smart people don't work in law enforcement.
MAKE COPS ACCOUNTABLE !!! Lawsuits it happens and they should pay out of their pension fund !!!! When they start paying out of pocket, things will get better !!!
Cops once again giving out free money so she can retire!
She was calm cuz she know she gonna sue 😂😂😂😂
Of course they found no mis conduct. They never do.
She’s not getting anything, like they said it was a mistake
I hope she wins 1 million for each day in jail totaling 3 million. This was so unnecessary if the police would have looked closer at small details.
Im going after that sheriff department
Mistaken idenity???
This happened to me smh 😒
"Traveling while white."
Unbelievable, this is unacceptable, this is someone's LIFE were talking about. I would be wild!
She stole a identity
Unapologetic/no apologies evidence.Poor Girl
Sue big time
GET'UM! Bet they blame her for the mistake
"You feel hopeless"
"You feel broken"
"..humiliated"
You feel Black 🙃
The only reason they did not care is that her partner was black.
