- - Alex Smith had been doubted for years. The 49ers took him over Aaron Rodgers in the 2005 NFL Draft. It would then be six years till he'd finally find a coach who believed in him. The Chiefs then traded for Alex after the ever too long "Matt Cassel era".

Damn I miss Alex Smith. Chiefs got a great dude, he's so underrated and he doesn't get nearly as much credit as he deserves. Good luck to him and the Chiefs in 2016
+49ers_Fan 52 He was undermined by one head coach, pounded behind an inept OL and he just kept on plugging away. What Harbaugh did to him in 2012 cost the 49ers the Super Bowl.
+John Walsh I have a hard time blaming Harbaugh just because Kaepernick showed so much promise. It's a shame to see where he is at now.
Kaepernick showed promise, but he didn't have the experience. Before that last play when lost them the SB, Smith was up yelling to Harbaugh to call a time out and call a pressure beater (in other words, Smith saw the defense and knew how to beat it). Harbaugh ignored him and the rest is history.
Showed promise but not enough to unseat Smith in 2012 when Smith was top 3 in QBR, TQBR, Completion%, YPA, TD:INT and was already sailing to the playoffs. His last pass before being unceremoniously benched was a touchdown ffs...
Smith noticed the defense on that last play and tried to get Harbaugh to call a time out and put in a play to beat the pressure, something Smith had starting to do in 2011 when the defense brought the blitz (AKA blitz beaters or pressure beaters). Harbaugh ignored him and the rest you know.
Most underrated qb in league..hands down!!!:)
Smith actually proved himself to me this year, I wasn't ever really a fan of him but this year he did amazing. Nice video, by the way!

Alex Smith 2015 was basically what the Niners hoped Kaepernick would be. My Niners should have kept Smith. Hell he did a nearly perfect drive while blind. Then got benched.

He doesn't get the respect he deserves man! Top 10 QB for sure because he doesn't turn the ball over and he wins plain and simple.

Underrated
Alex Smith's best season. Starting at 2-5, he practically carried the team through the season. He may not be the most talented but he's got grit. One of my fav players.
we should have never traded this man...I'm a slight ban wagon KC fan now just cause I loved Smith in San Fran even through the bad years. I hope he has continued success is KC for the rest of his career.

That NFCCG will always be my most remembered/favorite game. The rollercoaster it was and the lead changes, unfortunately Kyle Williams went on to cost the following weeks game... I hope Alex goes on and wins the big one with KC, becoming more than a footnote, someone who has persevered the way he has. I may have not always been his biggest fan (wanting Rodgers) but the way he has carried himself and led makes him glad he's my QB.

As a long time 49ers fan, I'm praying so hard for Alex Smith and the Chiefs. He deserves to play in the Super Bowl and win. It always should have been him 3 years ago. I really feel strongly about this year for The Chiefs. I really believe they'll go farther. They have the tools and talent. Huge luck this year and I'll be praying hard for Alex to finally get his chance to go to the SB and for the Chiefs to win their first in 40 years!!!

Alex Smith needs to use his legs more again. It confuses the defense since Alex rarely throw deeps.

I don't mind the 49ers part, in fact, I would have added the DEEP passes that set up those TDs, but anyways - the only part I would change would be moving the 2nd through 4th or so plays of the Chiefs because those, though nuanced due to the defense, look too easy. I like the build up to the bigger plays, but maybe a bigger starter like the Buffalo deep TD? Great video, not complaining, I just get too many people thinking that Smith's supporting cast does it all and it's easy. Those first few plays "look" easy.

man if my Dolphins had Alex Smith as their QB we would make the playoffs this year. Nothing flashy about him, but he has great instincts and quick decisions. Ryan Tannehill just seems like a deer frozen in headlight out there sometimes. Smith is not the athlete that Ryan is, nor does he have the better arm. But Alex throws a better deep ball with more touch.
Hopefully he'll remember how to win a playoff game this season
Our offense should be in the top 5 next year. We fixed our oline and we have a ton of weapons. I feel like our strenth right now is our offense and our defense is not as strong.

I was iffy on Smith before this year. Other fans just be salty that he just decided to step up now. I swear, I'm the only guy in my school that thinks he's among the top 15 in the league, more or less top 10. We all know he was last season-and he's got a good chance to be better this season. Sit back and watch, NFL's fetish QB Derek Carr-Mr. Smith has class in session.

The Chiefs have to start holding the ball more and sustaining drives. Too many times did we go three and out or score quickly and give the other team the opportunity to win. We had a great season, and it should have been better, they did not show up in the Pats game, there was no heart in that team.
Dude there was plenty of heart in that game. Not many teams go into Foxboro and make the Patriots work the whole game. Chiefs kept fighting even tho it didn't look good. Remember we were missing like 5 key pieces that game. They kept it close. We just gotta get that bye.
Give credit to Alex Smith Chiefs fans without him helping the Chiefs get the win over the Texans in the 2015 Wildcard game the pressure of carrying the playoff win drought and beating the colts in the 2018/2019 division game would have been to much for this team to handle glad they got that win even though it was the only playoff win he had in Chiefs uniform
I really think that if the Saints had beaten the 49ers in that playoff game. The Saints would then play the Giants in the Superdome. They would blew them out. Then we would have a Tom Brady vs. Drew Brees superbowl and the SAints would have won.

During the best offenses in Kansas City history there was one common thing the had a beast running back but didn't have the defense to back it up. List of great Kansas City chief running backs. Let's see Marcus Allen, priest Holmes, Jamaal Charles, dare I say Larry Johnson yes I do because he also had his great moments but the drugs got to him, also Christian Okoye. See I imagine you are a fantasy footballer but I play it but not as competitively as some people I'd rather see my real football team achieve than my fantasy team. If that means you play defense and run the ball then do it.
