Nick Bosa is an absolute beast. On Monday against the Rams, he had 2 sacks but he was at least partly responsible for most of the 7 that the team had. If you watch each of the plays, you can see Stafford watching Bosa, or seeing Bosa come off the edge and react instinctively by moving away from Bosa directly into another 49ers player who he never saw. He is so good, he generates plays for his teammates as a byproduct of his own greatness. He's not a sack machine, he's a sack factory.

There's a lot of fake football "analyzers" out there... you are NOT one of them! This breakdown is fantastic start to finish! And Hufanga is absolutely the breakout player that can truly make this defense go from great to ELITE! Keep in mind that Fred Warner being that field general who is basically a D coordinator on the field to make adjustments and get guys aligned is truly the best in the league at his position. They have everything you can ask for at each level of defense. All they need is the Offense to not shoot them in the foot with bad turnovers and/or 3 and outs causing them to get gassed. But back to my original point. GREAT VIDEO!
Hufanga and Josh Jones show why the safety position so important. Hufanga elevates the defense to the next level while josh jones almost singlehandedly makes the defense more predictable.
Luckily fangio has been at the 49ers facility and will most likely take the DC job if Ryan leaves. So basically the defense will still be hot because he is the creator of the defense anyways
We really haven't lost our defensive dominance since the Singletary days. It been slightly up and down but Singletary was the man who really enforced that mentality.
Mufonga has been playing at an elite elite level. Making plays all over the field in both stopping the run & creating havoc in the passing game. Most definitely it's between Philadelphia & San Francisco 4 NFC Crown this year.
Zimmer had a similar approach the year the Vikings lead the league in 3rd down conversion rate and the most 3 and outs. They haven't had the same Dline since then but they definitely had the best safety duo was actually getting all world play out of Rhodes and one of the best linebackers in the league. Rn the 49ers arguably have the best safety duo, depends on who you talk to, solid corner play as well as 2 top tier LB threats and a DLine that is up there among the best. If not for a safety and a blocked FG return the 49ers would be allowing less than 10 ppg. And if not for Russell Wilson pulling one out were really dang close to going 3 straight games without allowing a TD. Even scarier they had over 100 yards in penalties in week 1 which were followed up by points. The ball hasn't even been going the 49ers way at every turn and still lead the league in PPG. Sheesh.
I think without a doubt future defenses are going to move away from mostly cover one or man coverage. Because frankly it is way too expensive and difficult to have personnel that is superb at man coverage. With this defense you only really need about two.
Man coverage will always exist due to its simplicity and effectiveness when it works - As mentioned in the video this defense also plays a lot of man (particularly against the rams) where they fall back to old single high principles from Saleh, and when they picked their matchup they’ve been great at it. I definitely think split coverages and even more intricate pattern matching is definitely the future of the NFL though. However this cover 6 won’t be the top defense for very long either - coordinators much smarter than me will learn to exploit it
The personnel on this defense is so good they can play both zone & man very well. The D-line is stout, Fred Warner is a freak at MLB & Hufanga is Polamalu 2.0.
The only problem is that their offense ranks #28 rightnow. The defense can get them to the playoffs, but the offense needs to start picking it up or they can be an early exit in the postseason. You still have to score points in this league and keep the defense fresh by having a good offense

49's have good defense, the players defense is good at recognizing the offence passes hence they are able to execute at the correct time leaving their opponents weak.
The Defense has gotten better since this was made but the offense is spectacularly better. Not only Deebo, Aiyuk, Kittle, CMC, Juice, Third and Jauan. My God this has the makings of the Niners 94 team stacked at every position. My only concern is our offensive line.
I've been watching football my entire life and a lot of this video goes over my head. Just goes to show you most nfl fans have no idea what they are looking at, and only after analyzing the tape does it all become clear. But no way are they processing all of this in 5 seconds
💥💥 I mean to be honest with you the 49ers has had one of the best defenses really ever since 2019. Their defense last in 2021 outstanding. Also going back to the Jim harbaugh days. So I'm not surprised San Francisco has a good defense when the 49ers are good they always got a good defense going back to the '80s the 90s
Hmmm notice the continuing theme of good defenses: get to the QB . The check down is always there because of the vertical attack of the modern NFL, but by the time that's wide open in the 7-10 yd range, an elite edge rusher throws off the timing. Having a MLB with speed like a safety also helps, see 2000s Bears with Urlacher. This is the 49ers today. Elite edge, best MLB in the game.
As a big 49er fan, you have enlightened me beyond measure. I was thinking that their defense always looked like it was running the same thing, play after play. Until you told us and showed us how flexible their defense was, I was kinda mad at Demeco Ryans for not disguising his defense better! Alas, quite a bit of injuries to defensive starters has got the 49ers at 4-4 (but 3-0 in their division).

I really appreciate this breakdown. I wondered if Salehs scheme was still involved. This is the defense we've been waiting for. All positions are good.
Saleh’s scheme is starting to take shape in NY thanks to sauce and reed. You can finally see a defense starting to form
" 'Coarse' Collision Company." Let's get this started!!!!!
Great video on breaking down the defense!
I actually meant him he was born like 20 minutes away from my town he’s a super chill dude and he’s extremely humble
9:22...Nick Bosa is too busy...lol... fork-lifting his left tackle and dumping him straight into fields lap...lol...Great Commentary...I like your analysis and breakdowns...I'm a subscriber now...Keep Up the great work...
Dude you’re good. I thought I knew defensive schemes. I’ve got a lot to learn
The 2022 Gold Rush defense was special
Thank you !!!!! You brake it down for dummies like meeeeeee!! ❤❤
The 49ers easily have the best defense in the nfl there all feasting it’s unbelievable
Sucks that they have a terrible offense
49's have good defense, the players defense is good at recognizing the offence passes hence they are able to execute at the correct time leaving their opponents weak.
as a 49er fan, i enjoyed this video
Ok how have I not seen this channel before. Jesus amazing video
The Defense has gotten better since this was made but the offense is spectacularly better. Not only Deebo, Aiyuk, Kittle, CMC, Juice, Third and Jauan. My God this has the makings of the Niners 94 team stacked at every position. My only concern is our offensive line.
Everything wins championship, everything!
Fangio was at practice in preseason all the time with the niners this year don't be surprised if he becomes new defense coach for niners next year
I just wish we could actually win more games
Great break down pal. Thanks.
I've been watching football my entire life and a lot of this video goes over my head. Just goes to show you most nfl fans have no idea what they are looking at, and only after analyzing the tape does it all become clear. But no way are they processing all of this in 5 seconds
Fangio was actually a special guest at 49er OTAs.
Im pretty confident he'll be our next DC when DeMeco gets a hc job.
Most likely he will
I just love it. Where my niner fans?
recently found your channel. its been great. question: is there a way to watch games with this view? meaning you can see everything as its happening
49ers Yesterday 49ers Today 49ers Forever
Historically Niners have had probowl caliber RBs, and probowl caliber CBs.
But when they have both in the same season, they win the SB.
Bad ass analysis! Niner gang💪🏻
One man show is disrespectful dawg🥶
3 minutes in and I subscribed. This video is so well done, and super educational. You’re killing it. Keep this up and you ‘ll only grow.
This can actually help me in madden this is terrific thanks
Seen the Zach Wilson breakdown so of course I had to look my Niners up. Superb breakdown I love football too
No particular order Brendel, Azeez, Mosley, & Ebukam my favorite 49ers
Hmmm notice the continuing theme of good defenses: get to the QB . The check down is always there because of the vertical attack of the modern NFL, but by the time that's wide open in the 7-10 yd range, an elite edge rusher throws off the timing. Having a MLB with speed like a safety also helps, see 2000s Bears with Urlacher. This is the 49ers today. Elite edge, best MLB in the game.
this makes me shed a tear cuz we be so good but injuries literally kill us
As a big 49er fan, you have enlightened me beyond measure.
If the bills are healthy it’s not even up for debate. But yes, they are definitely number 2.
Thx You Troy Polamalu for believing in Talanoa Hufanga.
9ers Defense is one of a Kind from
2000 Ravens
2002 Buccs
Excellent work man!!!- keep-it-up!!…
Demeco Ryans was underrated during his playing days!
Just found this channel this week. Love the content. Keep it up.
Amazing breakdown. I was glued to the phone. Subbed!! 💯
great breakdown but if you look at the 49ers competition in these clips... broncos, rams, bears...
It’s been brewing. Good QB play has prevented complete 49er dominance.
Hufungas run d is palamoa esk. hes been training with em. theyre both polynesian islanders
*Polamalu-esque
Polamalu is Somoan and Hufanga is Tongan. Are French and German the same thing to you??
@@FatFaceRo It's odd that you chose two countries which both belong to the EU and share much common ancestry. Even the name "France" comes from the Franks, a Germanic people. Having said that, Samoa and Tonga are both Polynesian Islands, which makes OP correct insofar as they are both of Polynesian Islander descent. I say "descent" because Hufanga is actually from Oregon and Polamalu is from California. Anyway, your analogy was off and OP was right.
Yes if you want to call Oregon an Island 🏝 which is where Hufunga grew up ! And yes I get it you were speaking to his heritage.
@@FatFaceRo yes and all asiaians are Japanese 🤔🤫😁
