You have the right idea! Sauté ahead! I never really thought about saving the broth, but my mouth watered when you poured that mushroom broth in the jar! 😅 I love red on you! I think all you-tube channels could learn from you…you talk to us as if we’re there with you… there’s an art about that! Thank you! Hope your Holiday is a good one! Hugs from Ohio🎄☕️
I always say we’re so much alike, even close in age. I love canning, cooking & baking then sharing like you do! There really aren’t a lot of ppl who cook from scratch. So, what we make is really appreciated. But, you’re doing such a tremendous service by TEACHING the young generations how to be thrifty while still preparing good meals for their families. It’s so important, esp these days when food is so expensive. Not just that, but it’s full of chemicals, preservatives & GMOs. Being stocked up & prepared for anything is more important now then any other time in my lifetime!
Hi Renea, I make a roasted potatoe salad, where I cut up red spuds in cubes, leave the skin on. I bake them in the oven till golden, peel some eggs, chop them, add salt and pepper, and a pound of bacon chopped and browned, then add mayo, you can eat it warm , it's very good😊😊😂😂
Hi Renea. I always notice your flowers at the corner of your work station. They are always so pretty. Love your channel. In fact I recommended it on another YT channel I watch. 😊
Since watching your earlier video on parbaking potatoes, I now do it all the time! As for mushrooms, I roast mine on a sheet pan--especially if I have a big amount. Toss with oil and any seasonings you like, roast at 400 degrees for aboutf 18-20 minutes, depending on the thickness of your mushrooms. It's a great time saver and they are delicious, just like sauteed. Frees up your stovetop and skillet!
I enjoy seeing the utensils your using. I love cooking & food preservation, so all the tools go on my canning kitchen want list. Saving for $$'s for next summers build.
I sure thank you for that mushroom broth idea. Thats awesome to put it in an ice cube tray to freeze it and put the cubes in bags. Loving that idea and can't wait to start on it. I LOVE mushrooms and mushroom gravy. You are amazing Renea.
Hi Renea and John! I’m a mushroom lover and eat them on so many things. My kids love mushrooms too. When my kids where living at home we had pizza night and during the week I would sauté the mushrooms, onions, bell peppers while I was cooking the sausage and hamburger ahead of time. Then usually pizza night was on the weekends and I would make the dough and give each one of them their own pizzas. Have a blessed day and Merry Christmas!
I love watching everything you do in the kitchen, I was just wondering about freezing bread dough and you are going to do a video on that. I buy frozen bread dough in the store but it is getting hard to find. Cheaper than buying a loaf of bread, Thanks for sharing your projects.
I like to use the mushroom containers to use to plant my seedlings I drill little holes in the bottom for sail drainage Great video, I share the video’s with the sister and my nieces Merry Christmas and Happy New Year May God bless you and your family ❤
Thanks Renea! Such great ideas! Works well for we seniors too! Just take out what you need. Same with frozen foods you buy. Just open and put in smaller bags and put back in freezer.
I prep veg for the freezer all the time, never thought of pre sautéing some of it! Great idea. I canned mushrooms last year- they are amazing, so much better than store bought (yes it was an approved canning recipe). Then i canned all the broth that was left over, it gives such a good hardy flavor to things. I love it!. I need to break down and buy myself a giant cooking sheet! Love your videos!
That mushrooms looked good and so did the green peppers and red peppers in the yellow they look I could just sit and eat them after being sauteed in butter and pepper and a little bit of salt yes I could eat that but anyway I love the video talk to you later and I'll see you in your next video
Just letting you know, one of the best herbs with mushrooms is thyme. I was a cook for the university of Minnesota. I took a class from the culinary Institute of America. It was all about spices. I didn't know how much better a mushrooms could taste. Just try it sometime. Love your channel ❤ and you.
Could you do a video things to do with rice I've been getting a lot of it lately at the food pantry and I just don't know what to do with it or maybe you already have some videos I can check out I've not cooked with rice very and I'm at a loss for what to do
Rene this is a terrific idea for the potatoes I have purchased 30lbs of potatoes because they were on sooo incredibly cheap and I was thinking of canning some but I didn’t know that I could bake them and freeze them and they would be okay?! So if they are partially cooked they won’t turn black when you take them out of the freezer??? Thanks Rene for all you do and all your information!!!❤️🥰🙏🏻🇨🇦🍁 P.S. looking forward to your Italian bread recipe I just made a batch of Kaiser rolls and half the batch I turned into cinnamon bread kaisers. The only issue I seem to have is after the second rise my kaisers bake up and are enormous! I don’t know how to ensure they don’t get too big? Any suggestions?
Renee, I have to ask. Do you have a Generator for the house, if power is out? I want to purchase a Freezer as well but I worry about power outages. Thank you!
Freeze dried they sell for 8.00 a package and there are quite a few in the package. Yes I will sell them to you. Email me: americandreamtrucking@yahoo.com
That shade of red looks wonderful on you!
