To be honest, your job is so good because not only is it deeply professional but also attention grabbing down to your personality and appearance. Smart people say: the more you enjoy the better you learn. Carry on like that and keep knocking me down with a feather ;)
Very helpful lesson teacher! It´s the Achilles` ankle for many foreign students of english. In my mother language (portuguese), the sound of past tense is not so subtle as the regular verbs in english.Thank you so much!
Today's class is also helpful Everytime I learn new things l thank u and it mumma who is ,I think ,always behind the camera with u today it purple ratings r also beautiful
I would like to point out that usually stuff like that is never being taught, mostly, as a result of some prevalent language teaching approaches. Thus, many people are really confused when it comes to these simple pronunciation rules even if they are really skilled in other respects of the english language. As a certified translator (english to greek) and a speaker of six more languages I'm aware of the effort you put but the result is really excellent.Perhaps the most down-to-earth youtube teacher and a great appreciator of the difficulties that a non native speaker may have to adress. Keep on going, even very advanced learners have a lot to find at your videos.
Thanks, Peter! Yeah, I thought I'd try something new. :) After filming I got a new microphone, though, because I didn't realise how much moving things around would affect the sound. :D
@@EnglishwithMax I didn’t notice the sound quality being anything but okay, but then again, while I don’t need your services and watch for fun. I found myself focusing on the visuals and how you placed things to keep it interesting and get your message across. Personally, I also respond to visuals and colour! I suppose habits die hard, three years ago I was the lead in a project creating internal content here (I wrote the scripts among other stuff, in part so I didn’t have to get in front of the camera), and was interested in what worked on YT versus what didn’t. Also, you, as a creator, have to keep it interesting for yourself by trying new approaches. Keep doing what you as for as long as you can as I think you make a difference to your students - along with many other educational RUclipsrs.
Hi Max :-) As a matter of fact, it's really hard to follow the actual point of your videos. You know Y? Because of your lovely face, eyes, smile :-) I'm not kidding. And I'm glad to find your channel on YT. Take care!
I'm a native speaker of English. I love English. I've taken Latin and German. Both taught me a lot about parts of speech. I am tutoring a 38-year-old Guatemalan man who speaks Mayan and Spanish and some English. In my opinion, English is a very difficult language. It is loaded with exceptions. How would you compare it to the languages you know? I suppose that languages like Mandarin are probably more difficult.
The spelling and pronunciation is definitely more difficult compared to other languages I know, but I think most languages have their difficulties when it comes to grammar and vocabulary :).
@@EnglishwithMax Actually, that's the problem; the normal way doesn't work. It sounds a little unnatural. For instance, in the sentence "They bombed the building ," pronouncing "bombed the" is rather hard and a little unnatural. So, any solutions?
I'd say the elision rule for /d/ or /t/ would still apply there. Speaking quickly, you could get away with not pronouncing the -ed (bombthe), or we'd just say it really softly. www.rmittraining.com/news/blog/connected-speech (scroll down to elision)

How should ed endings be pronounced when regarding connected speech?
Just follow the normal rules of connected speech (based on the sounds, not the letters ;-)).
@@EnglishwithMax Actually, that's the problem; the normal way doesn't work. It sounds a little unnatural. For instance, in the sentence "They bombed the building ," pronouncing "bombed the" is rather hard and a little unnatural. So, any solutions?
