I’m with you, you are doing the best you can with you got.You are putting your family before the Hobby and that is the way it should be .In time your money will be right.Hatch I wish you the best for your Chanel!
Do you have a build plan for this one? It would be cool to see a stick shift cruiser build. Not a race car, just something nice to take the family cruising in
Aha! You tuber watching you tubers! I sub to both you guys! Along with Low-buck, Polebarn, Fanatik,Stay tuned, Fin and the list goes on! Peace from Seattle! ✌️
One of your best videos no one does this and they should in-line 6 with a three speed simplicity and parts from the wrecking yard, small budget builds are the reality
Love the 6cyl build. Everyone forgets they're cool in their own right 🤘🏼. I enjoy your videos man. Also.. your tool box is comical through the videos with the walking drawers. A simple thin shim of wood under each front wheel will cure that if you're so inclined. Keep up the great content man 🤘🏼
I have a 250 and a 3 speed in my square body. Great running engines. You have nothing to apologize for. Running cars are way better than non running cars.
My 74 Nova had a 250 i6 too. Ran well, nice and smooth. You can’t beat free! Get some nice exhaust on there, some kind of duals. You could run one pipe back to a transverse muffler that has two outlets or get a dual setup and have a y-pipe just off the manifold.
hey brother! any motor in the pontiac is better than an empty engine bay, being able to move it with its own power is always easier than pushing/pulling
6 cylinders with 3spd's are Awesome.. I drv one in my '52 bomb style line deluxe for 12yrs daily. split manifolds help a lot. btw Saginaw 3spd's are a dirt track racers favorite trans being they're strong w/ cast iron cases and good internals. Great car, Hatch. helped build one back mid 80's with a neighbor, his had a 350 SBC with a Borg Warner 5spd. good set up for those No-Go's. Omega's Ventura's Arcadian's.
I'm not gonna lie. That Ventura being a limited production car, I was hoping for a V8 four speed swap, but like many of the other commenters say, it's on the road again! The main thing is you're having fun putting cars back on the road, and I hot rod vicariously through you.
Pontiac engine in a Pontiac would be cool. Imagine that. 455 would really be cool with a functional shaker scoop. 4spd Super T10 behind it. 3-73 posi 12-bolt out back.
Love the channel. This is hot rodding. It is doable in 2024 with kids inflation, and all that. In the same boat. Tenacity, creativity, a welder, pilfering junk yards, old farms, fb marketplace, etc. When in doubt, watch a RUclips video to fab or fix it. Still good deals out there if you keep look around a bit.
This is sweet! They're a great engine too. Got one in my old chev truck. And yup those and industrial big blocks are dirt cheap or free, but still good engines.
I felt your statement of not being a huge RUclipsr and making a whole bunch of money. I am in the middle of looking at all my business receipts over the past year vs how much I made off of RUclips . Safe to say us smaller guys ain’t making enough! Love your content been watching since the 72 Nova. I’ve also made the treck down to Klingers. Great people fantastic yard. Surprised no one tried to buy the Yellow GMC ladder truck yet. 🤣
Same effort could have bolted a Pontiac 400 in it. Just seen one pulled out of a running 74 Gran Prix for $400 bucks. If $400 bucks is gonna break ya, better not get into building old cars. Shit can get expensive quick.
Reminds me of my first time... "Whoa whoa whoa! Too fast too fast! Go, Stop!" "I don't understand what your problem is" "You're coming out the sides, it's clogging up and not going in fast enough" "You're just not good enough for this. Is it going, wet as a whistle?" "No it's going all over the floor Stop! Stop! Stop! you're overflowing it again!" "You're not holding it right" ...putting gas in a car with my buddy ;)
I love the builds Hatch! Being a nova guy myself with a 69 sb Muncie nova. There is a 72 SS 4sp in my neighborhood I’ve been trying to pick up for years, I checked the vin, 5th character is a K, it’s been rotting in his driveway since I went to high school. I’m 58 now! Says he’s going to restore it some day. It’s so rusted and I don’t see it happening. What a shame
My ex had a 71 Ventura for a while. Had a nice little 350 in it. Fun car to drive until the lower control arm fell off while she was driving on the highway. Her mom's "mechanic" seemed to disappear before anyone could talk to him about it. I sometimes wish I could have grabbed that car after we broke-up. I would have had a blast fixing and driving it.
Ain't no shame dropping in a Chevy 6. Our 71-72 Ventura's were only optioned with the Chevy 6 or 307. I too plan to source a Pontiac engine for mine, but the funds aren't there yet, so it'll still be Chevy powered a bit longer.
I was hoping for a 455 pulled from a mid 70's Pontiac luxo-barge, but there's nothing wrong with a good 'ol 250. Running car > Non-running car. Especially when it's just drop-in. AND FREE
So my 72 nova is from California, and it has a smog setup on it. So the other 49 states don't have smog setups on them? Sewing all those novas in the junkyard, I'm like yelling at the screen, "I need those belt mouldings". Noticed that the green color mustve been a common color. Mine is also green
Funny that the 3 spd Saginaw is stronger than the 4 speed Saginaw. They just made the everything smaller to fit more gear in same case for the 4 speed.
I had a factory hd 3 speed behind my big block in my 68 Chevelle for years and she held up quite well. The only issue was how the factory shifter was mounted to the transmission and the crossmember. When you really torqued her up in first gear she twisted a little and sometimes made that throw to second gear a little tempermental
Good work boys! Hey, how'd you start it with the trunk key? Now you're going to have to remove the body and spin it 180 degrees. Boy, wouldn't that be a sight! LOL!!
I’m with you, you are doing the best you can with you got.You are putting your family before the Hobby and that is the way it should be .In time your money will be right.Hatch I wish you the best for your Chanel!
A wise man once said, "Don't get it right, just get it running." You can always swap the drive train later. Get it running and enjoy it!
Good save, and that’s awesome getting it back on the road
That wall was a depressing sight. All kinds of good cars piled up in there
Just taking a relaxing walk in the woods full of amazing junked cars. Good life!

I love it. I had a red 74 with the 6 cylinder. It was a great little car.
Another great car brought back keep the videos coming always good to watch
Thats awesome its running and driving! Enjoy!
You have nothing to apologize for. You saved this car. Without you it would be sitting and rotting. It is driving
Do you have a build plan for this one? It would be cool to see a stick shift cruiser build. Not a race car, just something nice to take the family cruising in
Morning bud, Appreciate the video, Love sent from FLORIDA

Appreciate it buddy.

Awesome ride 😎

Hatch I wish I lived closer to you. I live in. Washington State. I have a 1963 Nova project, a 1973 Super Sport, and a 6 cylinder AT 1974 Omega.
Totally excited for the car . Have dreamed of getting a Ventura for many years. Birdy

Damn, thats a good junkyard. See all kinds of good shit.
Great job Bro!!! Such a cool ride!!
People are obsessed with power, that motor is perfect for this car
82 Camaro pace car pretty rare. Damn shame to see some of them rides end up out there. Chevy 2 Wagon make a killer drag car.
We have been building big CID Pontiac engines, our recent build is a 540 CID all Pontiac, would be nice to see a full Pontiac build
You must be loaded. 540 Pontiac engine cost a fortune. Congratulations.
@@thereluctantgearhead4544 🤣 My thoughts exactly. We're doing a 455 and it's pricey......like Mopar pricey.
hey brother! any motor in the pontiac is better than an empty engine bay, being able to move it with its own power is always easier than pushing/pulling

“You’re going too fast!!!” --“ You’re just not good enough” lol 😂😂😂
Very cool
Can’t argue with free-fiddy! Not everything has to be a v8, you have plenty of those. Don’t get it right, just get it running.
6 cyl not my first choice, but a budget always gets in the way.
The ventura is cool. Glad to see it’s running again !!!!
Had a 73 w/350 pontiac . Local muffler shop did one of the first exhaust crossovers balance tubes and woke that 2bl. 350 UP !
here in brazil you can make these 250 reach around 400whp n/a pretty easy
I'd like to switch out the 262 v8 in my 75 nova for a straight 6,they're plenty powerful enough to use as a dependable daily!
You can swap in literally ANY small block Chevy. Even a 305 would be better than a 262,
Heck yeah man!
MAIN THING BROTHER YOU GOT IT BACK. ON THE ROAD ! 😁👍

I got demonetized the same fuckin week I got monetized. Shits a scam unless your a paid shill. Fuckers remove my views and likes daily. Rigged game.
I'm guilty of not playing along with a bullshit reality.
That GMC ladder truck could be cool.
Anyone who has a problem with what you do with your cars can donate a motor of their choice to replace the six cylinder
Same effort could have bolted a Pontiac 400 in it. Just seen one pulled out of a running 74 Gran Prix for $400 bucks. If $400 bucks is gonna break ya, better not get into building old cars. Shit can get expensive quick.
I don't like it, but I have my own cars to build, so I couldn't care less.
Great work.

awesome
Awesome! Sweet car...
I had a 250 straight six in my 68 Nova. With the powerglide, that little engine would scream! The guys I raced never believed it was a straight 6! 🤣🤣🤣
Great job hello from tuscon Arizona would like to see your buddies duster since I'm a mopar guy
I think you will have more fun with the free six cylinder than you would with a v8
You ought to find one of Pontiacs SOCH 6 cylinder from the late 60s. That would be awesome
My ex had a 71 Ventura for a while. Had a nice little 350 in it. Fun car to drive until the lower control arm fell off while she was driving on the highway. Free is in my price range
A car isn't much good if it doesn't run and drive, it doesn't have to be a race car or numbers matching.
Ain't no shame dropping in a Chevy 6. Our 71-72 Ventura's were only optioned with the Chevy 6 or 307. I too plan to source a Pontiac engine for mine, but the funds aren't there yet, so it'll still be Chevy powered a bit longer.
Gotta be numerous Pontiac engines at that junkyard. Seen a few potential doners.

Cool....be cooler with a cheap turbo. ..may draw through?? Thanks for sharing
Nothing wrong with that
Lots of room in the engine bay for twin turbos!😊😊
“You’re going too fast!”
The only time Dan will hear that said about this car with the I-6 in it.
So my 72 nova is from California, and it has a smog setup on it. So the other 49 states don't have smog setups on them? Sewing all those novas in the junkyard, I'm like yelling at the screen, "I need those belt mouldings". Noticed that the green color mustve been a common color. Mine is also green
If you ever find a economical engine that would work perfectly, I would look for a OHC Pontiac straight 6. That would be perfect!!
You could put one of those intakes to run a 4 barrel on it that would be pretty cool
Funny that the 3 spd Saginaw is stronger than the 4 speed Saginaw. They just made the everything smaller to fit more gear in same case for the 4 speed.

@ I had a 3 spd that would pop out of gear if I hammered on it too hard
Why not find an OBS seat for your square body? They can still be found for cheap.
How much do to think they would sale that wagon for the nova wagon
Whatever you are doing is better than having it rust away in that storage unit
Go for it. Also, when you drive it download the song ventura highway by AMERICA. and listen to it. For me.
Good work boys! Hey, how'd you start it with the trunk key? Now you're going to have to remove the body and spin it 180 degrees. Boy, wouldn't that be a sight! LOL!!
Only took me 25 seconds to realize I wasn’t going to finish the video
bravoo
40 of us. Free is nice also ....🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️
Just do a quick tractor paint paint job?!
Like to have that Jeep Honcho
Here’s a Nova with a 6 and Flowmaster exhaust.
ruclips.net/video/v7GUXSKKSSc/видео.htmlsi=gnvcZ3HyP25aHl9V
PONTIAC 400 Brl --Muncie (MUNCIE) 4-speed....
Nothing wrong with a 6 cylinder put a fat turbo on it
Too bad ya couldn't find a 400 or 455 Pontiac engine for free.
That was my wish. A 455 out of some 70's lux-o-barge. Torque for weeks and replacing the anemic exhaust really could wake them up.
I was expecting disappointment (non-Pontiac v8) but a 6 popper even was even lower that what I had expected. 🤣
