This episode is like a RUclips memoir of Audrey's dad , Daniel - his memories, his words, his expressions to live forever. Awesome job Sam and Audrey to have captured these moments with your dad.
Your dad is such an interesting guy. Love listening to him talk about growing up on his home country. Definitely a person who endured the bad and seems to have come out of it with the good. What a zest for life. I'm sure you recognize what a gift he must be to have him as a dad and father in-law. Keep these videos coming. Fascinating.
We would love to know more about your dad's emigration to NYC and his life! Really tough and truly fascinating. Thank you for sharing! Necochea is beautiful ❤
Daniel reminds me of the stories my family has. The dispair and being forced to migrate but also finding beauty in simple things like the ocean. It makes this nation such a resilient one. I love his stories. He reminds me of my dad a lot.
Awesome! I could listen to him for hours. He reminds me of my great uncle, he would talk about the depression and the dust bowl and everything else... Your dad is gold. I would love to hear more. Thank you!
As a fellow Canadian (Windsor, Ontario) I love this video showing your Dad back in his hometown of youth! Thank you so much for sharing his story so maybe people can be educated on why the immigrants had to come to America, whether it be the U.S.A. or Canada!
Así es la vida...pensar que los padres o abuelos de este señor,vinieron de Europa...el mundo es un pañuelo...quizás sus nietos...deberán huir a Sudamérica...saludos del fin del mundo 🌎
Wow. I could listen to Daniel 24/7. His life experience is like my 87 year old Father. They will say things that stop you in your tracks and knock you sideways...Sam, Audrey and Daniel....Keep these coming...Lots of Love from Scotland x
Thank you for sharing! Thoroughly enjoyed listening to Sr Daniel’s stories. ( The ocean life lessons were awesome.) Would love to hear more of your family history.
Was great to hear from Daniel being back in his hometown. It must have been so nostalgic for your Dad. I can empathize with Daniel as I find as I get older I’m thinking about all of the people that have come and gone through my life and all the memories seem like yesterday in my mind when in actual fact 50 years have gone by. I would love to hear why the family left and had to emigrate.
This was so beautiful to watch- thank you for sharing this circle of life moment with us! That waves as life lesson monologue is straight up Oscar worthy.
It was really wonderful to hear your dad Daniel talk about growing up in Necochea. Cherish these tales from him and I'm glad you were all able to go back there together. Wonderful video!
Real nice to hear about your dad's early years...enjoy listening to him talk. Would like to hear about his immigration experiences....cheers from Toronto Canada ❤
This vlog warms my heart. I wished i had a dad like Daniël. I love the nice family moments you all have. Enjoying the food and ofcourse the wine! And each other.
Audrey, your dad is inspirational without trying to be, his conversation just turned into a very valid life lesson that we all go through. Please do more videos about your family's migration and their experiences.
How lucky to be with your father in his hometown! I wish I could have gone to Malta with my dad. I would be interested in hearing more about his story of his immigration to the US and Canada.
Daniel is a great storyteller. This is something you should keep in your family for the grandchildren. So real and genuine. I’d love to hear more about his journey on the English Channel!
It's so good to see your father being willing to share his incredible stories. The only time we would find out anything about my parents' growing-up years was when they were with siblings, and even then, we did not learn a lot. Now that my parents are gone, I feel that there is so much that my siblings and I don't know about our parents.
Daniel cracks me up. I can’t wait to hear more about the family and the trip to New York. Also, how did the hotel come about. I can’t wait to see more about that as well.
You can find over 20 videos (1 hour long!) in their spanish channel... hope subtitles works for you! Let us know!!! IS AMAZING!!! NETFLIX COULD DO IT!!!
I think your Dad needs his own channel…his stories are fantastic and I am sure his memories bring back a lot of memories for others as well. Btw as his daughter you are allowed to roll your eyes😂😂
Dad, you're great! Young people, appreciate and take care of your Dad. Thank you very much for the material, for the stories... Greetings from Stuttgart
it's great that your dad is able to document and share his experiences with all of us! would definitely love to hear his story of going to the US and Canada
Thank you for taking your wonderful dad on this lovely journey to his Hometown. He could write a book on those fond memories growing up. Hope you guys are doing well. 🙏❤🙏 Harriet, Jim and Yuki from our current location on The Madeira Islands, Portugal.
I hope it was overall a good experience for Daniel to return after all these years, so wonderful that you could share these memories. My parents immigrated to NYC from Germany before I was born and didn’t speak the language either so it was hard. If it’s not too difficult for Daniel to recount the story, I would love to hear his experiences.
Hi there Sam, Audrey and Daniel we are back from Japan and are catching up with your videos....I want to learn more about Your dad's life take care Effie
Took my dad once back to Croatia where we came from. He left Croatia in the Fall of 1969 for Canada. Mom and I joined him four months later. Fast forward many years, Mom dies. I figure better take Dad to his home town in Croatia figuring he would be happy to see the place. He was, in a way, but in another he was very quiet, and sad. I couldn't figure out why until years later after he passed away. The thing is, place has changed since he lived there. His parents, my grandparents, had passed away many years before, the house he was born in, and grew up in had been abandoned for decades. His childhood friends had all vanished, either died or simply left the town never to be seen again. To him, the place was not the same. He looked sad. I don't regret going there with him, but wish we had happier times.
I will enjoy any stories you choose to share. I am old and find an expat experience intriguing. I think I may fit as an expat in Argentinian . Of course I may be full of crap.
I seriously just love your dad he reminds me a lot of my dad and my uncle with his jokes and the accent my family is French so maybe a little different I don't know what language she speaks but that's what my family is in its similar nonetheless but I truly enjoy the videos with your dad the most although I love all your vids you could really tell that this meant a lot to your dad to go back to where he grew up you could just see it in his eyes at times I'm really thinking when he was telling his stories this was something very special❤❤❤
Would love to hear the entire story! My late mother being an immigrant worked hard for a better place to raise a family, only thing I wish she would have been able to tell me about is how it all came to be. So please Daniel tell us! Youre a great storyteller!
Daniel’s description of his teachers and the terror some of them inflicted on the kids brought back memories of my school days but in an Asian country. I used to try and hide behind the kid in front of me when certain ogres , i mean teachers walked in lol.
Hola , espero que anden bien . Yo vivo en Toronto y pensaba en regresar permantemente a Bs As como hacen ustedes para conseguir apartamentos en BsAs gracias ..
Daniel is a true storyteller, so we would love to hear more about his journey in future videos.
