When my son was a toddler he fell in love with a children's video showcasing an east to west journey on Via Rail made in the 1980's I think. I recognized that hotel. We watched that video so many times. Still a dream of ours to travel Canada by train. Maybe your girlie would like to do that when he's a few years older! Thank you for sharing.
I love Canada and have been many times. Our last visit we stayed in an old historic hotel in Victoria for a week and then a beautiful hotel on the water in Vancouver. It was very close to where the cruise ships dock. We went for a cruise to Alaska but came back to Vancouver for a week as well. I would love to live in Vancouver but I am too old to move now and it’s probably too expensive for me as well.

When my parents moved from Medicine Hat to Edmonton in the 1950's the two tallest buildings were the Legislature and MacDonald Hotel.
