My husband has been diagnosed with ALS last year. We believe that he was showing symptoms the year before that. It took the doctor’s after several months to determine the ALS. My husband and I have been married for 50 years and this hasn’t been easy as he has lost a lot of his ability to get around. I will be praying for you both that God will give you strength in the days and weeks ahead. God bless you.

My husband also has been diagnosed with ALS a little over a year ago. We are both walking in the same shoes. His speech has gotten real bad and he has episodes of choking, which is scary.
The diagnosis of ALS sucks but not knowing how we are going to make it financially is scary also.
      Sending hugs to all

@@C6whatever I’m so sorry for everyone. IMO when people have a disease like this the government should pay for all medical bills, medications and living expenses. I’m not trying to get political or anything but so many people get government assistance that don’t need it and people like this that actually need it don’t get it and/or don’t get enough. I have absolutely no problem what so ever with my tax money going to families like yours! It’s bad enough that your husband has to live with this TERRIBLE disease, you guys shouldn’t have to worry about how to pay for his medical bills and medical needs! It’s absolutely disgusting to me that the government doesn’t take better financial care of people in these situations. My one buddy has 2 kids with this woman and she has 2 other kids with other men and she doesn’t work because she has to watch the kids, my buddy pays child support but the other 2 men she has kids with are dead beats they don’t work so she has to get food stamps and government assistance to live, the other 2 men also are getting food stamps and housing assistance but they don’t have anything wrong with well the one guy is so fat that he’s on disability he’s too fat to work well if he wasn’t so lazy he could get a job working from home but he’s too lazy he just sits his fat ass down and watches tv all day and eats that’s all he does it makes me mad when people like that who can work who have an able body but they get free money from the government, and the mother could get a job working during the day while kids are at school and on the weekends because 2 of the kids are old enough to watch the 2 younger kids so she can work weekends and really work a full time job during the week but she’s lazy these people are trash! It makes me so mad when people are taking my tax money like that when people like ur husband and ur household could really use the help and 110% DESERVE the help! If I had it my way I would make sure family’s like urs were taken care of all of ur husbands bills were 100% paid for, all the household bills taken care of, even a savings plan for ur kids college education taken care of because ur husband cant work and the family should be given enough money so you (the wife) doesn’t need to work u can stay home to take care of him and given more then enough money to live a nice middle class life without working that’s what should be happening! These are the things I want to see my tax dollars spent on that would make me happy knowing my money is going to truly help people in need and make their lives a bit easier. It makes me sad hearing about people that are sick and they can barely afford to buy their medication. I hope things get better for everyone and I truly hope a cure is found very soon. GOD BLESS EVERYONE!

The 2 diseases that scare me the most is ALS and Alzheimer's. I am sorry that this is happening to both of you. You would think that insurance companies should pay for your care. I was diagnosed with breast cancer last year and radiation alone was over $120,000.00, covered by insurance. If they aren't paying for medication etc., because there aren't any....they should pay for your care. I will keep you in my prayers. ❤

Right there with you on ALS/Dementia. Those two diseases are a different type of hell, and especially when you watch a loved one go through either 1st hand. Also agree 100% on the outrageous cost overall when it comes to any major illness or disease. Guess that $120k covers some big shots salary who gets to attach MD at the end of their name, only to sit around and take over a year to diagnose this poor guy with ALS…Just the diagnosis alone apparently will run you $10,000 a month, or maybe that $120,000 is helping fund another medical trailblazer who also refers to themselves as “Dr.” but in this case it’s a “scientist” who’s making 6+ figures a year to apparently sit around and look smart, but do absolutely nothing. All of the technological advancements (especially since the turn of the century) meanwhile someone’s still staring through a microscope with their lab coat on like it’s 9th grade biology…But in this scenario they’re referred to as doctor. But much like that freshman in high school, neither one has cured or solved a damn thing. Stay strong my man.

Thank you for the prayer Darlene. We agree about the insurance. It really is awful!!! Sam is my best friend so that’s why I’m raising money for them since it’s an expensive horrific disease and they need the funds to support with Brandon’s medication and soon a wheelchair. We appreciate you taking the time to hear their story and spread the word.

This just broke me. I suffer daily from depression. Sometimes it’s all I can do to get out of bed. Anti-depressants don’t work for me (they make me feel nothing at all) so I’ve been relying on supplements which seem to help. Your story put things into perspective for me. My prayers are with you - for a cure and for strength. If you can have the courage to get through the next day, so can I. Thank you for sharing this….as difficult as it was. I will think of you each day moving forward.

Why are you not told what the cause behind this disease is. Which inflammatory causes (infection agents) give these disturbances. Then you can purposefully search for the best treatment and recover.

Don’t blame GOD for disease. Sin brought this into the world. Read a Bible. Yes it’s sad, but so is cancer.

So sad you feel that way. There’s a God, just like there’s a Devil. It amazes me you none believers, never blame the devil for terrible things that happens to ppl. You have to realize, we’re not promised here forever on this earth. This is not paradise. And yes,Jesus had to suffer. And because Adam & Eve ate the forbidden fruit, unfortunately man & woman has to suffer for their sins. When we die,& if you lived right,& keep Gods commandments you’ll know you have a place in heaven, for the rest of eternity. I know by the grace of God there’s no death, nor is there sickness. And I’m trusting in my God🌺

@@jancraig9298 it’s hard to completely blame the devil when God is the reason why the devil has so much free will to do all pain and damage to gods own creations, this is why I say if there is a God then I do not like his ways I don’t like how so called “loving” He is to give his own creations free will knowing very well that they are going to choose what is opposite against him instead of him forcing good on us knowing that if he gave us a choice then he knows in the end it would lead us all to hell, So before you keep on saying why don’t you blame the devil you’re right the devil has a part in all the suffering in the world but don’t forget he only has a part because God allows him to run around because that’s the type of God that we were created by we were created by a God who for saw all the evil that was gonna happen in this world but still allowed this world to exist for his own selfish reasons , you don’t really need to know God‘s ways to tell how corrupt he is as an eternal being, once again can’t really blame the devil 100% when it’s gods fault that he is letting the devil run around

@@jancraig9298 that’s also selfish! Even you contradict your own self did you hear what you just said? Because the first two humans sinned against God that means people who are never there in the garden of Eden back then have to pay for something that they didn’t do all because God now says “we are born into sin” that’s not love so that means he doesn’t love us that means we are not a part of him if he has to say he will “adopt us” Into his kingdom yet he’s the reason why we were created so God has a very stupid mentality I’m sorry to say actually I’m not sorry I’m not gonna apologize for how I truly feel about your cosmic dictator

I was raised baptist & I gather your agnostic,I don’t quite know. But I do know this,so many atheist have felt the same way you have. And several of them have had a near death experience. And they found themselves in hell for not believing in God, & cursing him. It’s several stories, on RUclips about their experiences. Hopefully it won’t be to late for you . Have good day

It is funny how religious beliefs depend almost entirely on when and where you are born. There are 4,000 religions around the world today. Yet each religion believes they are the only ones that have the story right, and everyone else will burn in hell. According to some, a mass murderer will be saved if he asks for forgiveness, but someone that leads a good life in the service of others and just doing the right thing will burn in hell because he does not profess a belief in ‘God’. Had you been born in Egypt in 2400 BCE you would have worshipped Ra as the giver of life. Religion is created by man to control other men. It is and always will be that way. If being a good person, helping others, not judging others and living a life that does not put on airs to earn the praise of a church is not enough then so be it.
