I notice some ALS patients are living longer. Is it because the trials and treatments that help slow progression? I hope one day there's a cure soon! My dad's cousin had ALS back in 2005 and died within 2 years of his diagnosis.
Not everyone is accepted or eligible for trial medications that have been proven during trials to slow the progression of disease. There are many restrictions to be eligible for trials that by the time the patient gets diagnosed, they’ve had their symptoms longer than what the trial period allows for them to be eligible to receive the medication of the trial. It’s really sad.

My brother left ALS behind on 6/2/2004 after a 2 year battle. It was a privilege to care for my best friend/big bro during that time, but I'm so glad his struggles are over. The thing I miss most is everything. Bless you.❤️❤️

Someone who has a loved one with ALS needs to do another campaign like the ice bucket challenge… heck, call it the Ice Bucket Returns and dump 2 buckets on people…. More money and more publicity needs to be on ALS because it petered out a few years after the challenge… Do it again 🧊

I can’t differentiate where I have become numb or truly devastated. My father was diagnosed with Bulbar onset ALS in January 2024.
