Kader 'Little Dude, Huge Deck' Sylla
I read that as "little dude, big dick" the first time lol
Such good meme potential
"You have a small deck, don't you?"
8.25 is my go to for everything however I rode my buddy’s winkowski deck and that old school pool board is AMAZING, jus feel so stable riding on anything and fast AF
8.5 and above
Fuck yes
Based
8.25-8.38 for me
I think like many have mentioned in the comments a big factor is wheelbase, Wheelbase drastically changes your boards feel and performance. Personally I am a shorter 5 foot 7 guy and I love a 14 inch wheelbase but if a tall wide and long legged person was to ride my board they would think it’s too narrow and pops too fast.
Anti-hero makes the best 9.0
I think if you switch it up every now and then you never feel weird when you try another size. If you rode 8.25 all the time and you try something wider or narrower it’s gonna feel off. I ride a Powell 10 inch vert board but yesterday I was trying to get heel flips using a Powell 7.6 . I think about How Gonz uses different boards and rips either way. That’s my inspiration
My 8.25 was pretty nice but I ended up getting an 8.358 thinking it wouldn’t make a difference… just loved the graphic. Wrong. So much extra stability.
Hey,im 5”3 and weight about 109 pounds. What deck size should I ride
@@thunderboo146 probably like an 8.0
Straight up didn’t know there were different sizes until I kinda stopped skating. Just ordered an 8 at 37 and I guess I’ll find out my ideal size lol
For someone trying to get real info on this is waaaaaaay too funny! 😂
nora's reply 😂😂
i love her
Everytime I’ve tried >8.0 it feels like a surfboard and I can’t do anything with it. 7.75-8.0 for me. My ideal width is 7.90
I remember starting and 8’s were considered huge. I was on a 7.75. Then I got on an 8 and after a week I noticed 8.25’s were the huge boards. Started riding 8.25’s for backside/frontside stability on gaps. Now most ppl I ride with are like “f*ck those 8.25’s..8.5 is where it’s at”. Idk if I’ll try one but I do feel a comfort spot with 8-8.25
Just grabbed a 8 , 8.125 , 8.25 , 8.38 and a 8.5. going to try them all out see what i like the best. Used to always ride 8 , 8.125 or 8.25 never really saw that much of a difference other than shape of the board used to always be happy with 8.125 but excited to try 8.38 and 8.5. does it really matter tho when you're talking only so much length to me not at all but they definitely have different shape w each size
8.5 all day
Fr
I ride 8.25 but a 7.5 feel really good to kickflip, like really snappy. But 8.25 is just more comfy but that's just cause I'm really used to it
7.75 until I moved to Costa Rica and can only get 8s now. 6ft size 13shoe. Miss the 7.75
8.38 is where I’m at might fuck around and try an 8.5 for the hell of it.. I’m really picky about my shapes though quasi is my current go to but I did get a foundation for $20 clearance and it’s light as hell kinda throws me off
Man, I had to subscribe to you all over again. I was wonderful why I wasn't getting notifications 🤔 messed up!
Cheers 🍻 9Club
I love the feel of 10 inches but I can't really figure it out to get tech with it. I can do some basic stuff and use it for crusing. If I want to get tech I have an 8.5. I like shaped decks. Gotta have some curves to it and have a fat ass tail.
Get one with a nose if you wanna do tech, i have one with no nose and its hard to even ollie.
@@mr.jamster8414 I got 2 different decks. Most of the time I just skating a curb or parking block. Ollies are no problem unless I'm trying to bone them out to get higher. My 10 inch deck has no nose. It's old school shaped. My other deck is more modern at 9 inches wide. I have more fun on the old school shape. My first board was a 1987 NASH skateboard. Heavy and full of gimmicks.
I learned nothing, but I enjoyed every minute.
both 8.25, and 8.25 are the most satisfying and effective
Josh Pollack when I do my pop shuvs with an 8.25 or higher, my homies get so stoked because I pop them bitches waist high!
martin gonzalez for real!!!!!
martin gonzalez 60mm
Stop riding kiddie sized boards if you ever did ride a 8.5 you never want to go below. :)
Samuel Heart just stop, I was riding 8.5 when you still rode a 7.75. We can fluctuate between sizes.
For me it’s all about the wheelbase and length.
Jersey Devil .. but not the concave?
Really? I never even pay attention to the wheel base.
So what’s a good wheelbase so that my board doesn’t feel as stiff & centered. What can you recommend? Something where the bolts are drawn back a little. Any boards out there??
honestly for me the size doesn't matter. but the concave and the kicktail totally does. It has to be mellow-medium concave with a mellow kick. no exceptions.
ur wild, i ride 8's and anything more than that and i cant skate for shit
the fattest I've ever gotten was 8.25. I've never tried anything bigger.
What's the difference between mellow and steep tail on terms of pop?
steep tail means it takes more effort to pop. there's more of a delay in the pop. Thus, more effort = higher pop. but for me I need a quicker snap. popping with less effort takes less of a toll on your body. and you can skate a lot longer without getting sore. the height of your trucks also plays a huge roll in that too if you're looking for a quicker pop.
Kermicheo Kermit thanks bro. I've always wondered whether to get a steep or mellow tail and what the difference is. I've currently got a Powell-Peralta Flight deck and it's a mellow tail. Pop doesn't seem great but it ollies quite high when I view videos of myself practicing. I guess I'll stick to mellow.
How old are you? I ask because you mentioned it takes a toll on your body? I'm 36 and work long hours. I know when I'm tired I lose the motivation to practise ollies and other tricks. I just wanna cruise.
Yes, it does. Happy medium is an 8. Nice balance for flip stuff, gaps, rails, etc.
Michael Lykens .. lol
8 is kiddie size nowadays.
Happy medium is 8.25 now
right ten years ago i remember it was all about 7.75 7.78s
@@californiapoontappa 7.6
@@rupert6478 you win
I thought 8.125 is goat
It's all subjective. I have skated 8.25s for the last 9 or 10 years now. The only issue that ever comes up is the wheel-base (which, should always be determined by length " vs. WB ") for these decks.
Menace 7.63” in 1995... 8.625” polar p9 2019💋
8.75 where it’s at
I’ve been skating for about 3 months now and I ride a 8.0 I’m thinking on getting a 8.75 what do you think?
Güerø x775 do you have big feet? I would say 8.75 if u do but if ur feet ain’t that big an 8.25 and Maybe a 8.5
Fr
I didn't realise how much it mattered until i changed. Rode 8.25 for a year and a bit. Changed to 8 and literally couldn't make anything and lost all confidence. Changed back to an 8.25 about 2 months later and felt right back at home again
Jason Longo .. same. Did go from an 8.25 to an 8.1 and it was always to small. Now I am on a 8.5 and boy... why did I ever ride something smaller. It pops higher. You lock into grids better. It feels so cruisy. And the standard flips work just fine. You feel like you are grown up finally :)
Samuel Heart you can pop some mad height on 8.5s. I don't understand how anyone rides 7.75s at all. I definitely won't ever go below an 8.25 for me
Jason Longo ..
absolutely. I went through all sizes and shapes since 89. And I really can say that 8.5s are really the most fun and atv. Well, can’t say how it would be if I would ride perfect LA concrete all the time though.
Samuel Heart haha mate i live in london its completely fucked for skating 😂😂
lived there for a year. I fell you mate. haha.
I live in Paris... its just about the same.
Those who know, know 8.125 is where it's at
4 sure
Yeah I love 8.125 and 8.25 both amazing
agreed
With Indys 144 or thunder 148. The glory.
100% yes
🤣🤣 little dude with a huge deck
I'm just glad he said 8.8", cause I'm about to order a 8.5 and I'm hoping it's not too phat lol
was it too phat?
@@ripstarboy I didn't end up ordering a new board yet. The 8.5 I wanted sold out
Went from 7.5 to 8.5 over the past 4 years. 8.5 I actually land more tricks.
Yeah. But I bet you suck at tech skating.
8.8, 15" wb. Rollin' !
just got an almost 8.5
Issa bout the cushion for the pushion, wears Osiris D3 lol
size 9 baby. blue dipped baker tfunk, best 9 i’ve ever ridden. had 3 of them
7.75 high concave. Im the kid at the park who skate ledge and flatbar his whole life
8.25 is perfect
I ride a size 9 width with a size 11 shoe perfect for my skating
Ya know what they say about a guy with big feet ....
.....................
.......................
He rides an 8.75 Anti Hero blue eagle with 151 Thunders baby !
I got size 12.5 feet and I’m pushing a anti hero 9 orange eagle 😤😂🤣
I feel like it matters a bit but once you get used to it’ll be like anything else
8.5 and up. Currently got a Nora board and that’s an 8.6
i ride 8.9 board 14 inch wheel base
The way Malto said "the bigger the better" was interesting.
best episode evaaaa! 🤣
The real key: have your main board (7.5 to 8.5) and your cruiser/back-up deck (8.75+ and "old school" shaped) always on hand.
A street, pool and cruiser deck would be nice, but i prefer to cruise in 60mm+ hard wheels. So just the first two for me lol
I do the exact opposite 9.5 shaped as my main and a 8.5 as a cruiser
I didn’t get good until I started riding 9 - 10 inch decks
My homie at the local park skates a 12. I shit you not, its like a pizza box.
Of course you have Joey asking that question hahahahaha
I'm a simple man. I see Joey Brezinski, I click the like button.
kaders deck is twice the size of him!!!
had it turn this down in public.
8.125 gang where you at?!?!?!!
Right here ✔ ✅
And Here!
7.25
Depends on if it passes the 360 test 🤣
I got a 8.25 inch deck
"I can ride anything" 😳💀
im 12 and i have a 8.75
7.9 all daaay
I’m 15 and I’m 6’4” size 14 shoes wide. What size board do I need
Try 8.0-8.5, when you go get a board you can stand on it before buying it and you will get a chance to feel what feels most comfortable for you. They may also have full complete setups too so you can even ride them and see
Bro you need at 8.75
Im 6’4” also and i ride a 8.75
i ride 9 with sz14shoes but im actually thinking bout getting 9.5 / street
A snowboard lol
6.75
8.375
The amount of sex references - unreal
Tyshawnnn
It’s all trend
Ride a 8.5 and I'm about 5'4 and 110 pounds😂
Is it good for you cause I'm 5'4 98 pounds and I feel like I want a 8.5 but I also want a 8.25 because I have a 8.38
Red Label feel you dude. 8.38 is cool. I just don’t want to be disappointed by a 8.25 ...
Wow flashback to being 10 yrs old lmaooo
What's the best size for a cruiser? 8.5 plus? 9 plus? 10?
Whatever feels comfortable. Softer wheels too, but not too soft. G slides 59mm for example would be great
@@mr.jamster8414 came up on 80 ds 58mm and a 9 pretty solid. Might try going 60mm 79 tho
who is the guy at 1:20 I forgot his name
Alex Perez sean malto
9.5
for me it's more or less truck size matters and whatever fits the trucks. I switched to thunder 149's this year cuz im turning 31 and the extra space in the hanger is saving my knees. the boards so much heavier but having size 11.5 feet it just feels right. even tho its almost a vert board set up. lol
Nelson Stack I ride 8.25 with 149s, hardly what I’d call a vert board lol! Definitely a bit wider but it gives pretty good ATV potential in my eyes
u have big feet? it really opens up tricks when you get a bigger board
10.35 only
Wouldn’t have to do with your foot size
Skating wider decks has destroyed my left knee. I'm going back to 7.75
How so ? if you don't mind telling
.. soul and everything more save. I wonder what made it bad for you that it fucked up your knee.
But honestly... do some work out to strengthen you legs is the best you can do against knee pain. There are tons of exercise videos against knee pain on RUclips. The basket ball dudes have really good one. Check out for one on the lost breed for example
Love it
8.5 gang
Anything above 9 is too much to handle
I wear size 13 in shoes so that should tell yu my deck is pretty big lol
me too bro what size do you ride?
“It’s about the cushion of the pushin”
the motion of pushing being covered in a cushion. My brain hurts
Lg he’s talking about the shoe insole.
9.0, anything below 8.8 is a tooth pick!
Little guy with a huge deck.
how tf does Nora ride an 8.6 lol
9.5 or a 10 inch all day
what kinda skating u do? any tech? im thinking about switching to 9.5 from 9
sebo paints 24/7
Nora wins
But what about the LENGHT of the board? I never cared much of the width.
Width definitely matters a lot
More than length
@@Ken120Hz you can make a 8.25 feel big if you make it 33 inch long with 15 inch wheelbase
@@61936 That would be cool to try out
lol hopefully in the near future they'll make my size.. 8"x30.25"
emerson PM I think they do homie I had a element recently that was close it was 8x30.5
Check out Ryan Sheckler board company sandlot times
hilarious
The bigger the better
Joey rides lil ass boards lol
Lol
If u got big feet u need a big deck
I have a 13 foot on a 8.125 deck
💀💀💀😂😂😂
Kind of weird you guys are a skateboard-based channel talking about whether or not shlong size matters.
7.5
