Oh, the reason that Mitsuki, bakugo's mom, looks youthful despite being in her late 30s is due to her Quirk, Glycerin. she basically SWEATS moisturiser, which keeps her young-looking.
Fun fact: the scene of Baby Deku playing hero with his mom is actually based on real life. The author has said that he used to play a similar game with his mother when he was a boy, so including that bit had special significance for him.
Fun fact: Kacchan's Quirk comes from the combination of both his parent's Quirks. His dad's Quirk (Oxidyze Seat) allows him to ignite the sweat of his hands. His mom's Quirk (Glycerin) allows him to secrete the sweat at will, with the rest of properties glycerin gives. That means, Kacchan canonically has moist perfect skin, AND he constantly smells like sweets.
6:04 I think the implication might be that Nana Shimura's husband was killed by All for One, which meant that her family was going to be a target to get to her, thus disconnecting herself completely from her kid was in her eyes a way to protect him
Nana literally put her child in foster care to keep him safe. Her husband dying made her realize that him being with her would severely endanger his life and wellbeing and prevent him from living a normal life. She didn't do it just because she didn't want him to be a hero or something.
It's not really explained until later, so *spoilers* I guess: (minor spoilers only) Having the quirk "One for all" was basically a death sentence up until All Might defeated All For One. AFO seems to have been determined to kill any person with the quirk, in the hopes of erasing it from existence. Nana certainly knew this, which is probably why she sent the kid to foster care. She knew that she weren't going to be around to watch them grow up.
@@soybajo-kira8585 yes lets not abandon my child and have them be put in unbelievable danger with high chance they will be killed like the only other person you have ever loved before they can even grow up
@@TrueHavoc13 it wasn't a wrong decision, her child grew up evil and that wasn't her fault, she died shortly after and couldn't have raised him regardless. It's not her fault he abused shigaraki
This episode highlights part of why I love this series, and it's the author's understanding of emotional intelligence. Even if the character's don't always see it themselves, the way they're written pays attention to their backgrounds and histories and you can draw a clear through line between their pasts and their current behavior. As the series continues you'll get the chance to see more backgrounds on the characters, including he villains, and it's always a highlight when they do.
My mom is the same way. Love her dearly. Also, I will always be a little scared of her. Moreover, kinda scared of the parts of me I inherited from her.
Certainly clear who bakugo takes after in his family. Also manga trivia: according to character pages, bakugo’s mom has a glycerin quirk while his father has a nitro quirk. Bakugo essentially has a mixture of both quirks to make his nitroglycerin explosions
yeah his dad has small explosions he can't really control. They just happen and they're p weak. Funny how Bakugou is the perfect quirk combination endevour took 4 tries to achieve. The irony
yeah, form what I remember of how it was explained to me his mom's quirk is that her sweat has a nitroglycerin like substance, but all it does for her is that it makes her skin smoother and younger looking. His dad's quirk is creating sparks from the palms of his hands. So Kacchan's basically inherited both and using them together is how he can create explosions, but only on the palms of his hands (since when you think about it we sweat all over our bodies).
Nana put her son into foster care in an effort to keep him safe from All for One who was actively hunting her down as he did with every other One for All user….. She also sent All Might to the USA during his University years to keep him safe and allow him to develop his abilities enough to stand up to AFO which is why All Might’s gimmick is American inspired….
One of the things you may have glanced over, but probably talked about with that Patreon crowd is that All For One has a habit of twisting the things that All Might has done or said. During the fight, he told All Might that he cannot help Bakugo because "I am here." (All Might's catchphrase). He also twisted it in the flashback when the younger All For One met the young Tomura Shigaraki: he reached out his hand and said, "I am here." And in the after-credits: he even uses All Might's final line of "Next, it's your turn." to signal that Shigaraki is next to lead the evil world.
Not saying that her decision to put her kid in foster care was the 'right' decision, but how many people would have died if she didn't choose to stay a hero? (And for those who say that being a parent and a hero both was possible, that's never an ideal situation, her kid could have been use as a hostage or other complications)
Also it’s important to remember that AFO is a sadistic monster and probably would have kept tracking down Nana no matter what just because she had One For All, even if she did end up passing it on.
I love this episode. It signals such a turning point for everyone involved. Bakugo being so quiet and showing that he's thinking things through and putting them together. Deku realizing what he's been doing to his mother, the teachers showing that they can take responsibility properly, and All Might showing his resolve. Not to mention the parallels of All Might and All for One. Both are doing what they see as necessary to see the growth of their disciple.
Nana had a literal target painted on her back because of having one for all and was probably being hunted by all for one the entire time. In what world is prioritizing her child’s safety a shitty move?
10:25 Look, matching bandages! :D This anime has the full range of parents - from the absolute GOAT that is Inko Midoriya, through the sweet and loving parents of Ochako, the goofy but caring parents of Jirou, and the rest of the good parents, to the questionable parenting of Mitsuki Bakugo and Nana Shimura, and then to the absolute dumpster fire that is Enji Todoroki, aka Endeavor.
She probably only put her son in foster care about a month or two before she died herself. If she could have actually managed to overcome AFO back then, she likely would have tried to get him back.
kacchans parents are actually pretty good parents overall, i think his mom actually gets it from bakugo not the other way around, shes just learned to match his energy to kinda get to his level. but she also says some stuff during that interview about him being too weak and causing trouble for everyone that i think is really not helping his insecurities at all, but also might be saying it in front of his teachers specifically so that they can know what he might be thinking
Actually I think it's his moms fault that Katsuki turned out this way, I wouldn't say something like that if I wasn't the same, as someone who spend almost all my childhood with abusive mother, I deeply empathize Katsuki.
Just to be clear and without any spoilers, back when Nana gave his kid away All for One was 100% free to do as he pleased, it wasn't a my kid or the world kind of situation, which would still be understandable, it was a the world AND and lets do the best I can for my kid or literally everyone dies, so there wasn't much of a choice and imo it doesn't make Nana a bad parent for making the decision, because it wasn't even a decision
Yeah, I think it was in one of the author's side-panel shorts or something, Katsuki's dad was telling him about how when they met, the mom would just aggressively hit on him. Also the dad has some kind of sweat that he can ignite small sparks with, while the mom has glycerin sweat that basically acts as a moisturizer so she stays looking pretty young, so considering how Kacchan is basically the combination of the 2, you could say the parents had some good chemistry
Nana was looking at an ultimate lose/lose situation. Having One For All put a target on her back for life. AFO wanted her dead and nobody was strong enough to stop him. Keeping her kid would result in him being targeted himself or traumatized when she is killed in the inevitable confrontation with AFO. Giving him up probably seemed to be the best option at the time. She had no way of knowing how badly it would effect him, but she could be pretty certain how the alternatives would have harmed him. I don't consider it a good decision, neither did she, but it probably seemed to be the least of the collection of terrible opinions she had available to her. Either way, the decisions Kotaro made as an adult can't be blamed on her. She had been dead for decades by that point and he had a family of his own. Kotaro has to bear responsibility for his own actions as an adult.
Have in mind, at the time, All for One was at his peak and actively hunting down the One for All, aka, Nana Shimura. If you really think All for One was above killing her son as soon as he got his hands on him, then think again. Nana herself was killed even. Times were different, much darker than what is displayed in the anime in the current events, All Might even says so at the beginning iirc.
Fun fact: At some point in her early life, Mitsuki (Kacchan's mom) met Masaru Bakugo (his dad) and was instantly in love. At the time, Masaru was working at a job that involved fashion, which flattered Mitsuki. Mitsuki hit on Masaru rather aggressively, making him say yes to a date. After a long time of chasing him, they eventually got married and had their son, Katsuki, sometime later.
It would be tough for her to keep her son considering she had a quirk that made her a living target. They'd attack her home when she isn't there. How can she protect her home when she's out there making the world safe. There's an arc coming that would put this situation into perspective for you.
Taking One for All to stand and fight against All for One is more or less considered suicide. All Might barely escaped with his life against AfO in the last episode. Remember he specifically told All Might that he killed her and she died in a pathetic way. He's murdered the predecessors when they stand against him and All Might is really the first of them to make any large headway. So it makes sense for her to try to keep her family safe.
Remember though she had already given up OFA when she was killed. When All Might face AFO at his peak he beat him and thought he killed him. Hell he still beat AFO when he was down to the embers of OFA.
As I rewatched this episode, I realized that All for One has said the exact same thing All Might said "Next, its your turn" that essentially means its no longer All Might and All for One's fight but Deku and Shigaraki's fight. A passing the torch moment for both Good and Evil
All Might's master was not only a hero by passion and profession, but was also a part of generations long battle against All For One, who unofficially controlled at least Japan at that time. As cruel as it would be, you might just have to push your child away from you when going against such scale. I mean, why did her husband get murdered in the first place?
Katsuki Bakugo really is one of my favourite characters of all time. To be honest I needed much more time to catch his character developement (like into the manga) but seeing how far he has come with his emotion already is just such a cool thing to see. I think he often get's put in the "obnoxious loud dude"-box of anime characters, when he is SO much more
Alicia: I'm sorry, I don't understand why I'm crying. Me: Girl, you know damn well you're related to the Midoriya bloodline because you have their iconic tear ducts for real.
i was so surprised that this episode hit me harder than the last one. i thought the last one was the climax but no. thats the moment that sealed it for me how good of a show this was.
I understand the concerns over Nana's choice, but I mean.... She's fighting All For One, i.e. the big evil villain overlord with overwhelming power. Only way to keep her child safe from him is to completely take him off the radar. That, or she goes into hiding with him for the rest of their lives and abandon the rest of the world (no guarantee that would work either, AFO might still want to hunt her down).
The thing thats weird about all for ones imprisonment is that japan has the death penalty in this universe as it was shown that moonfish was on death row. Their goverment thinks that moonfish is more worthy of the death penalty than all for one.
Inko Midoriya is for a lot of people one of the best mom in shonen and that is not for nothing. She is caring and love Izuku, we already know that, but in this one, she show her resolve, even in face of All Might, she said what she have to say. She entrust Izuku to UA and All Might because she recognise in him, that he care for Izuku as much as her care about him.
The reason she sent the child away was to protect them, the AFO you saw last episode was a husk of his former self and was actively hunting the holder of OFA. If he already got the the husband, the child is at risk as well.
keep in mind that it wasnt just to keep the child away from the hero world, she was being targeted by All for one, and as you saw, that mf is ruthless.
Bakugomom might be trying to curb Katsuki's ego by counter acting everyone who praises him but having a parent do that has a bigger impact than anything. Never mind going as far as to call his kidnapping the fault of him being weak. Its really no wonder dude has a complex, he is stuck trying to prove both everyone who supported him right and the person who should be closest to him wrong. Add to that he gets his personality from the person who exhibits strength in the household and so much makes sense but the big thing here is that we get this separate from his issue with Izuku which I appreciate. We get an understanding of his personality but it doesn't come at the expense of justifying how he treated Izuku.
well you can see where bakugo gets his inferiority complex from. if the first shit we see from his mom is her telling him he's weak and he's causing trouble cause he got abducted. his moms clearly loves him but i do think its an example of how we dont know how much little things we say can affect people.
She did it back when All Might wasn't the Symbol of Peace yet, and All for One ruled as King of the Underworld, and was looking for her. Times were a lot darker/shittier.
Maybe im a weirdo for this, but when freaking AllMight, the living symbol of peace, presses his nose into the floor, and humbles himself before a single mom who is just worried for her only child, i felt more feelings than i did in last episode's OFA fight. Because yes, defeating villains is heroic; but i cannot downplay the strength required to admit your flaws and vow in all sincerity to serve as a true mentor to the one you genuinely believe not only should replace you, but moreover, could surpass you in almost every metric... that is also Plus Ultra. More than any other, that scene is why i love this anime so much. There are many ways to be a hero. Im so glad this show truely explores so many sides of that multifaceted gem.
Nana's decision I think makes more sense at the time it happened. This was back when All For One basically ruled the entire continent of Asia. He wasn't a villain she was going up against, he was like a second government unto himself. He had hundreds of thousands of followers, fanatics, and they clearly had found out who she was, as was made clear by the murder of her husband. I see this more as some families who fought the Nazi government in Germany who decided to send their children away. If Nana had stayed with her son, without literally any question, one of two things would have happened: that kid would have been murdered the fuck out or she'd have had to stop fighting AFO, because nothing short of her being home watching him 24/7 would have stopped AFO's gigantic gang from murdering that child. So you have three options: let your kid be killed, let a monster who's nearing literal world domination become the ruler of the planet to destroy billions of lives... Or send the kid somewhere else to be safe while you keep fighting. It makes a lot of sense really, specially in the context of the crazy nearly apocalyptic world that existed before AFO's defeat.
The kid would've been a critical situation if someone knows about it, family is always a big weakness, especially when someone like AFO knows about this, you know he gonna use that, so its only logical she did this, even if it hurts as much as losing her husband.
For the short amount of screen time she has, Inko Midoriya is low key one of my favorite secondary characters in this show. Every time she shows up, we get either a very cute or very emotional moment
It's kinda wild how Alicia has liked and is so understanding of Bakugo from the very beginning. There are people who really hate Bakugo with a passion, they even think he is the worse part of MHA. So this is cool to see.
@AscendtionArc Yeah, he is very popular. I am mainly talking about the people on youtube and twitter, there are a lot of people there who really hate Bakugo 😅
9:20 i mean, there is a fan theory that inko is related to nana (all might’s teacher), with the most popular version being that inko is nana’s “secret love child” to quote shoto. Which would make shigaraki and izuku cousins.
one of my favorite bits in this episode is how All Might walks past Deku’s room, sees all the merchandise of himself, and pretty much silently goes “yep that checks out. moving on.”
I like the headcanon that Inko (Deku mama) was a fan of Nana Shimura even if she wasnt a well know hero and that's because they have similiar hairstyles.
It's a tough call, and it clearly ended badly, but I feel like I want to agree with Nana's choice, she didn't feel like being with her would be a safe environment for her child, and clearly didn't think she was suitable to be the parent because of that. I would want to have faith in the foster care system, but we all know how poorly that can go for people.
Now that you've seen Bakugou's mom, you see where his personality comes from. But you also see where his insecurities come from. His mom literally said you got kidnapped because you were weak, when we all know he's strong and nothing he did caused his kidnapping. A parent's critical words frequently become that little voice in a person's head that tell us we aren't good enough. Parents choose your words carefully.
Locking up All for one? I mean the guy came back to life after All Might killed him, so they're trying to be careful till they a way make him stay dead. Plus as an Ancient Evil from the time when Quirks were first appearing around the world, he knows things. Things the government wants to know.
Nana's husband was killed, she was killed, she knew she wasnt strong enough and passed her quirk onto someone who could be, why on earth would she keep her child around knowing that not only is her life in danger, but theirs is too, I'd rather be put into foster care than my mother be brutally killed and knowing I'm next
I love that you are one of the few reactors that understands that Bakugou's family dynamic being absolutely hilarious doesn’t absolve what she's saying as being bad parenting, it's still hysterical though😂 Edit: Also, you're high EQ once again had you predicting the future(Deku's mom being uncertain about him moving out), you understand every character so well🥰 Edit 2: Very off topic, but I know you love babies so I have a recommendation for you(you don’t have to react to it, just thought you might like it). There's a show and manga called Gakuen Babysitters that literally just centers around a highschool daycare, it's so cute!! I think you would die from how adorable the toddlers are in that show, especially since the toddlers are main characters and we get to watch them interact with teenagers which is just more babies(it's a really wholesome show, and also a little emotional without being as traumatic as Ranking of Kings was😂)
All might becoming just a regular guy makes me love him so much more. With no appeatances to keep up, the guy can be the crazy uncle to everyone around him and it is so adorable!
Think about it this way…….You are being targeted by someone who will kill anyone to torment and kill you and your husband is dead so they can’t go away and hide with your child will you try and do something and you either have to choose that there is a high chance your kid will be killed and your not strong enough to stop the person trying to do it or you can give the kid a chance to have a family and live a nice life without having to be in danger I’m sure most people would choose to make sure they don’t die,and yes it did not turn out well as the child grew up not being taught the right way so he became abusive but there were many other ways he could have handled and I don’t see how we can blame Nana and if she gave him to a relative or something they could still be connected back to her quicker
This is the episode that made me realize this show was way deeper than most shonen. Izuku has a loving and caring mom. That scene between Izuku, his mom and All might was so real! Also All for One has some sort of super regeneration so I don't know if they even can kill him.
I swear to god, the only reason bakugos mom isn’t on endeavor levels, is because bakugo is an only child. She hits him, yells at him, his dad is a fucking pushover, and all of the traits people hate about bakugo are his parents’ fault. Yes, it is a part of his personality, but his parents are utter failures when it comes to raising him. I love bakugo as a character, but I fucking hate his parents.
I don't think it's as simple as what you said about Shigaraki's parents, him being put into foster care and whatnot. I do agree, that it sucks. But I don't think there was any other way as well. If you look at it like this: Nana (All Might's predecessor and mentor) put him there as they put it "to keep away from the hero world" or whatever was the exact phrasing. That means to try and keep him away from All for One and villains as well, especially All for One. Since they knew what he could do. It ended up happening anyway, but wouldn't you think that the child would be harder to track down to your bloodline if he was at someone elses care? Not to mention, even if he didn't get "corrupted" by All for One, he could've turned out like Kota, also without any parents (dad was already dead and Nana would probably still end up dying) so he would end up in a foster home either way. It's really sad and super sucks, but I think this outcome couldn't really be avoided.
Bit of an rare Alicia L. Nana giving her child up so it wont face the world of heroes and protect it from the absolute menace that is All for One is somehow a bad thing, yet she has no issue with Deku's mom ending her son's lifetime dreams to protect him from the same fears Nana had. Sole difference is that Nana acted first for safety before anything can happen.
Nah. Shes an objectively terrible parent for the pure fact that she WAS a parent. She decided to have a kid while actively fighting an evil demigod and new she was probably not going to win. She was horrifically selfish and incompetent. And obviously couldnt think ahead more than 2 inches in front of her face. In the situation she was in? Sure it was probably the best decision. But that fact she had to make it at all makes her a bad parent.
I mean, not arguing with the point, but to clarify, Deku's mum was willing to let him continue training to be a hero, she was just reluctant to let him continue at UA, as they done such a "terrible" job: I mean, he's permanently disfigured, on the verge of being crippled and nepotistic abuse is the only reason he hasn't been arrested for repeatedly breaking the law, then that's aside from all the targeted attacks.
Yeah I was tearing up during the mom part, idk why either. As for Nana (All Might's teacher) I think it's more to protect the kid, if that's the parent's bond you don't want it to die. Hard decision both ways. Buuuutttt...the two proteges are growing, one without their teacher, one where the teacher will guide them. How will it turn out?
Okay now you can relax a bit, the next few episodes are gonna be way lighter. Way less emotional overwhelming. I remember I had to take a break after this whole arc cause all of the emotions and when I saw the next few episodes it made me very happy
32:04 The man has no eyes or hair because All Might himself smashed his head the upper half of his head basically became part of the pavement, I don't think he can be killed (edit) by conventional means, there's A possible way but that's a spoiler and didn't happened in the manga yet, so until it's 100% confirmed I'm not buying it
I don’t think affection vs disaffection is the debate in nanas choice. For context, in neither the manga nor the anime have we gotten an answer as to what happened to her husband, but it’s heavily implied here that he died because she was a hero and he became a target because of that. Her son may very well be the last remaining reminder of her love with her husband, but the selfless thing was to put distance between herself and her son to give him at least a shot at a good life. Obviously we know that it was the “wrong” choice in terms of eventually birthing the worlds scratchiest psychopath, but I fully understand her decision with the information she had at the time. And also… 🎼 Baku’s mom has got it going on, she’s all I want, and I’ve waited for so long… 🎶
All Might is the true father of Deku, as All Might says in the movie, 'We are bound by a bond stronger than blood,' besides, we'll never see Midoriya's dad, whose name itself means absent and nonexistent XD
This episode really cemented two things for me. 1. My headcanon that Katsuki keeps a constant scowl on his face to avoid the "you look just like your mom" comments. They're almost copy-paste clones there. 2. My absolute favorite ship in the whole series XD
Bakugo's backstory explaining his behavior: genetics Also, just like at least half of the fans, I love bakugo's mom, I would probably be like her (in general, not just with bakugo)
Thanks for this reaction. I've seen a lot of people attacking mama-deku for this episode, but lets be real: her son's permanently scarred and disfigured, on the verge of being crippled and it's only nepotism that kept him from being arrested for repeatedly breaking the law. The school has kind of failed him, by failing to keep him in line. It's not like she told him to not be a hero.
5:26 sorry but you are simply wrong here alicia, and when it comes to child welbeing i dont ignore when someones wrong about it... if a parent is not able to provide what a child needs then they should give up the child... or be forced to if they wont, id have said that to my own mother for her incomitant brutal raising of me... but i didint know any better as a kid. i have heard horror stories from some people who were in foster care, but its still a chance to find loving competant parents, and you have said before its not about blood, its about comitment being able to do what needs to be done for the kid.
Honestly, I feel like she shouldn't have had a kid in the first place. Like, it's not specified when she got married or had her son, but she should have known BEFORE she even got married that she would be a living target. All Might clearly never got together with anyone, and it's not specified why in the anime but I feel like part of that is that he knows he can be targeted at any time. Actually, even if it wasn't AFO she should have known creating a family was risky, so to me, sending her son away after losing her husband was an extreme reaction, and a bad idea. She wouldn't even let the people she was closest to get near him. She could have at least left him with people she knew, people she knew would raise him well. Instead she just tossed him out into the world and hoped for he best. Shigaraki Tomura was a result of her decision, he killed thousands of people and just based on that statistic, her decision was clearly wrong.
Fun Fact: Bakugo’s mother has a Quirk called Glycerin. She naturally produces glycerin from her pores, giving her amazing skin. Bakugo’s father has a Quirk called Acid Sweat. Naturally, he sweats an acidic substance. These two Quirks mixing together thus produced Explosion, the ability to sweat nitroglycerin and detonate it at the hands.
I wouldn't say the war is lost, as that would just be total anarchy with blood, death, chaos, and worse being the order of every day. But is is still a pyrrhic victory at best. Locking away AFO is a good blow compounded by the nomus being impounded, but it came at a very heavy price. Nana couldn't keep her husband safe. He was murdered in an attempt to get to her. She tried to put her kid at minimum safe distance from the bullseye on her to keep him safe. Sadly, the unintended consequences of this would be worse than she could imagine. This wasn't just a world with fewer quirks, this was a world where many of the best quirks were snatched up by AFO, leaving people depowered or turned into tools and weapons under the control of an unstoppable tyrant. Heck, her son may not have been killed if AFO found him, but turned into a Nomu to fight his mother. Because that is EXACTLY the kind of twisting the knife in the feels while actually hurting you that AFO lives for. MINOR SPOILER: She was very torn up over giving her son up. Like crying her eyes out while leaning on young Gran Torino. She just felt she couldn't protect her son. 'You know s#!t's forked up when Kaachan's quiet." Eeeyup! You hit the nail on the head. All the training, the pushing of limitations, the countless responses to incidents, and outright eugenics.... and it was all for nothing. He's just been handed the first place by default. Decades of his life's obsession made meaningless. Man, they really are the same, pushing themselves past the breaking point, as illustrated by the prolific bandages. He did say he was going to reprimand Midoriya. But since Midoriya was able to take all the lessons to his head, he also builds the young man up. Thank you for your perspective on grief for the living. MINOR SPOILER: You get to see Dorms next time! It is fantastic filler. I really like getting to see the parents, even if it is only for part of the class and brief. It gives us more insight into the world and who the students are by showing who shaped them. It also lets us see All Might and Aizawa play unwitting audience to family theatrics. Yeah, this explains a LOOOOOOT about why Bakugo is the way he is. Pretty accurate guess on Deku's mom's response. I respect how even though she's star struck, she states her case firmly. And then All Might shows as much respect to her in turn as he can. It does seem weird to keep him alive, but I'm guessing it's because he's got useful intel they hope to question him on, and a lack of adequate firepower. All Might in his prime hit the guy with everything he had, and it still didn't kill him. Then we saw what a reduced All Might hit him with. And the B@$tard is still breathing. So short of a strategic nuclear warhead, I'm at a loss for what would do it, and you know that this guy would fight like a demon to keep on living if they shipped him to the states or to Russia to get a Tsar Bomba out of storage. No argument, the leitmotif for AFO is just so creepy and fitting. Also, him earnestly trying to raise up a successor.... it's chilling.
My God. Bakugo and his mom? I know this from experience. Me and my mom are incredibly nervous people although we can be calm. But if something gets us out of control it's over. I love Bakugo's mom. A wonderful woman.
I don't know if you've seen either of these series but I'd also love to see your reaction to them if you haven't already seen them. I've mentioned reincarnated as a slime before but I also think you'd love Ascendance of a book worm as well. I love seeing your reactions keep up the great work and hope your doing great
Oh, the reason that Mitsuki, bakugo's mom, looks youthful despite being in her late 30s is due to her Quirk, Glycerin. she basically SWEATS moisturiser, which keeps her young-looking.
Nitroglycerin doesn't have a smell actually, so the dude has the luck to be able to sweat rivers and still be odorless
@@saintcitron The internet says he actually smells mildly like bananas, that's fantastic.
6:04 I think the implication might be that Nana Shimura's husband was killed by All for One, which meant that her family was going to be a target to get to her, thus disconnecting herself completely from her kid was in her eyes a way to protect him
or any number of VERY dangerous criminal organizations that were running rampant at the time
Nana literally put her child in foster care to keep him safe. Her husband dying made her realize that him being with her would severely endanger his life and wellbeing and prevent him from living a normal life. She didn't do it just because she didn't want him to be a hero or something.
It's not really explained until later, so *spoilers* I guess: (minor spoilers only)
Having the quirk "One for all" was basically a death sentence up until All Might defeated All For One. AFO seems to have been determined to kill any person with the quirk, in the hopes of erasing it from existence. Nana certainly knew this, which is probably why she sent the kid to foster care. She knew that she weren't going to be around to watch them grow up.

Yeah, Endeavour wanted to EARN the position, not inherit it. All that work, pain and heartache that the family suffered just went down the drain.
It's like if Bakugo was ranked as number one powerhouse of 1A.... after any real competition was depowered.
@@bthsr7113 Kind of like the sports festival?
Bakugo's mother is the type to say "I've brought you into this world and I WILL TAKE YOU OUT!"
Taras Bulba moment
My mom is the same way. Love her dearly. Also, I will always be a little scared of her. Moreover, kinda scared of the parts of me I inherited from her.
I fuckin love his mom so much
Certainly clear who bakugo takes after in his family.
@@thunderwearcloud here's a fun fact: Bakugo's mom was dead set on hooking up with the dad.

He also twisted it in the flashback when the younger All For One met the young Tomura Shigaraki: he reached out his hand and said, "I am here."
And in the after-credits: he even uses All Might's final line of "Next, it's your turn." to signal that Shigaraki is next to lead the evil world.
It’s possible, but let’s not forget other media tries to do this as well, and more often than not the children end up being kidnapped or killed.
Both are doing what they see as necessary to see the growth of their disciple.
and the start of endeavor's redemption
Nana had a literal target painted on her back because of having one for all and was probably being hunted by all for one the entire time. In what world is prioritizing her child’s safety a shitty move?
10:25 Look, matching bandages! :D
This anime has the full range of parents - from the absolute GOAT that is Inko Midoriya, through the sweet and loving parents of Ochako, the goofy but caring parents of Jirou, and the rest of the good parents, to the questionable parenting of Mitsuki Bakugo and Nana Shimura, and then to the absolute dumpster fire that is Enji Todoroki, aka Endeavor.
From what I recall Bakugo’s mother was the one who fell for the dad
Yeah, I think it was in one of the author's side-panel shorts or something, Katsuki's dad was telling him about how when they met, the mom would just aggressively hit on him. Also the dad has some kind of sweat that he can ignite small sparks with, while the mom has glycerin sweat that basically acts as a moisturizer so she stays looking pretty young, so considering how Kacchan is basically the combination of the 2, you could say the parents had some good chemistry
@@CrownofMischiefBadum tsh. 🥁

I want a canon moment where Midoriya accidentally calls All Might "dad"
Bakugo's mom is such a savage. I love her so much.
She did it back when All Might wasn't the Symbol of Peace yet, and All for One ruled as King of the Underworld, and was looking for her. Times were a lot darker/shittier.
Honestly couldn't imagine being a parent in a hero setting.
Like imagine you pop out a kid that's like Shigi who could instantly kill you.
MHA has Light Novels which are canon, afterwards All Might, Aizawa and the other teachers do meet up at a bar, it's pretty wholesome
I mean, he was hated by some, but he never lost in the popularity polls.
People might be divided on their opinion of Bakugo, but EVERYONE loves momma-Bakugo.
Not everyone. They tried to cancel here on twitter once cause she hit bakugou
Which I don't understand: he's exactly like her, so why the disparity? They should love him too if they love his mum
I love that you are one of the few reactors that understands that Bakugou's family dynamic being absolutely hilarious doesn’t absolve what she's saying as being bad parenting, it's still hysterical though😂
Edit: Also, you're high EQ once again had you predicting the future(Deku's mom being uncertain about him moving out), you understand every character so well🥰
Edit 2: Very off topic, but I know you love babies so I have a recommendation for you(you don’t have to react to it, just thought you might like it).
You don’t have to apologise everytime you cry darling 😂 we value the vibes 😅
The moment when All Might became Dad Might
This episode really brought out the All Might x Izuku's mom ship into light in the fandom when it came out
I don't think it's as simple as what you said about Shigaraki's parents, him being put into foster care and whatnot.

Bakugo's family is what happens when the MC of a harem anime picks the delinquent girl to settle down with and no one can convince me otherwise.

He can, but it's hard as fuck to do so.
@@leiderhosen7110I know, I'm reading the manga, I meant in conventional ways, I'll just edit the comment

I recall even if AFO was put to death row, it would take time plus- they need to extract as much information from AFO eg how many quirks he has
Yeah, wasn't Moonfish (the crazy teeth guy) also supposed to be on death row, but was an escaped convict?
"Depression scrolling", sounds like me.
Endeavor having gamer rage.
Believe me when I say, you still have the depression arc to look forward to.

So Alicia, i think we know who your self insert for this anime is. Inko Midoriya! All the evidence stacks up.
My God. Bakugo and his mom? I know this from experience. Me and my mom are incredibly nervous people although we can be calm. But if something gets us out of control it's over.
I love Bakugo's mom. A wonderful woman.
Me at 7:25 :
Eheh, not even close. =D
I don't know if you've seen either of these series but I'd also love to see your reaction to them if you haven't already seen them.
