I’ve watched this video many times before taking my base M4 out on Sebring. Even with an 18x11 squared/semi slick setup it still struggles for traction with a mild tune. Oddly enough these are tough cars to drive on track.
Yeah, that's definitely one of the difficult areas for these cars. The M4 GT4 also struggles with forward traction. Some of it it power delivery, some of it just traction.
@@MikeSkeenRacing Are the roll cages in race car, designed to increase rigidity (in addition to safety?) Do you generaly feel, as a race car driver, a noticable difference in rigidity between roll cage equiped, and non roll caged cars? Its a shame manufacturers dont offer factory ready, afforable roll cage equiped small sport cars...
William Hendrix maybe leaving a bit of a margin, but not a lot. Big car that struggles for traction. Not as heavy as I would’ve guessed from driving it.
Awesome drive Mike 👍

yeah, the torque curve is very steep and power delivery is difficult. Not my favorite cars on track.
Great driving Mike! Was it all stock besides harnesses and seats?
Nope. MCS suspension, Hoosier R7s, mild tune.
@@MikeSkeenRacing can't get any better than that! Looked well sorted
Hey Mike, I realize this one was tuned, but what did you think about the power delivery? I've heard it's not that manageable.

Do you think the roll cage in the GTS actually gives an additional rigidity to the car, or is it designed only for safety?
Thanks
x200 x6000000 it would have to add some rigidity, but I’d imagine it’s mostly safety and racecar aesthetic.

x200 x6000000 yes, you can feel the rigidity. However, it’s kind of rare for us to experience the same car with and without a roll cage.
BMWs nowadays always seem like they could use more forward bite. But what's the fun in that, right? :D
demo lap? or street tires?
Hoosier R7s.
Mike Skeen going easy for a passenger? or just a big heavy car?

Mike Skeen yeah I’ve heard even about the full race model. gt4/ gt3. were you at winterfest or the pca weekend after?
William Hendrix I was at both. This was at winterfest.
