Hey Battington I Love your work! Keep it up also yeah. I do kinda wish there was more stuff like this
One of my biggest paranoid fears is looking out my window at night and seeing someone there. The introduction of the fairy unsettled me a lot
God, I feel that. I’m paranoid about it all the time, too.

A small detail I love is that when the killer used the sleep fairy disguise/puppet thing, it said that they knew the kid’s name and that they haven’t been sleeping. Meaning that they had been stalking them for awhile which is just scary as hell to me.
Exactly had that in mind
Especially the stalking to explain how they knew that kid's name
Not just that, I think the stalker is also stalking other children. Sense the stalker said to the little boy that "I know all of the boys and girls around the world, including their parents."
This could imply that the stalker has been stalking other children and/or maybe only said that to the boy to gain his trust.
That or the killer knew the boy already, like a neighbor or even a relative
Child abductors are expects at spotting and exploiting vulnerabilities in adolescence. This makes them all the more dangerous.
It was probably a puppet thing.
What makes this even creepier is that the man knows Caleb’s name, this suggests he knows Caleb’s family, which, if you know how common it is for child predators to be someone who knows the victim, adds another layer of realism
I agree! Him knowing Calebs name implies that hes literally planned this whole thing out.
The name of the “fairy” seems like a pun on two things: kidnapper and baby monitor (Cipsneed > Kidsneed). Which means this was all engineered, it's was a predator watching Caleb all the time (as in most child murders/kidnappings, it is mostly people close to the family or stalkers who commit the crime)
It’s Cailen
what does predators have to anything about this its only meant to be Scary Bro Lol
@@javenbarber8298 a child predator was the Cipsneed they were wearing a costume.
The fact that it seamlessly shifts from an innocent bedtime story to a taping of a child abduction case where only the boy's feet could be found gives me chills. I can only dread to imagine what became of him and his parents...

Small detail but I love how the "tiny toe" logo disappears at 5:20. It takes away that level of immersion in believing that this is a real kids TV show, and replaces it with the feeling of viewing a slideshow of found crime footage. The innocence has been lost. The boy is far past the point of return.
Omg yeah and the narrator giving a false sense of a security.
Yeah that's what I spotted. A small detail easily missable
That and the fact that there's a small but noticeable change in the narrator's voice just lends itself to pure horror at the end, perfectly.

@@mrwhatshisname2526 not really i noticed it immediately
A detail I didn't notice until my 10th viewing is at 4:49 the kid hears rustling in the nearby forest after the Kipsneed beckons him, almost like he was being followed at the same time, which would imply that this isn't a single predatory man but a group of predators which as a thought is terrifying

yes!! also when there are shots from far away and behind trees seems like there is another person watching or even filming what's going on
One of the scariest parts is that the “fairy” knows everything about all of Caleb’s friends. Even if he really doesn’t, it still implies Caleb isn’t the only child he’s seen/approached.
Yes, I noticed that too!
True, but then again he probably just said that to gain the kid's trust.
The subtle shift in the narrator's voice as the boy goes into the house gave me chills. It's a small detail but it's perfect
it noticed it also, Such a somber tone.

I haven't seen anyone talk about the fact that when the Sleep Fairy is talking, his antennae looks unnervingly similar to human eyes.
You can see it best at 2:48 and it's probably not meant to be like that, but when I saw it I had a chill cause it felt like there was an actual adult person puppeteering the Sleep Fairy, creepily watching Caleb as he lures him into his eventual demise
Omg that is such a good observation, gave me chills!
I had noticed this too !
I was about to comment that, but I saw this! When I first noticed it, I didn't think of it being the antennae
I think it’s just the reflection, but none the less, still unsettling to think of them as eyes
That’s what I saw!
that short moment at 3:18, where he lifts his eyes up towards the boy after seeing his predicament firsthand..
you can tell in that short moment he knew exactly how he was going to lure the kid in
what an amazing video!
I just noticed that when the kipsneed looks at cailen, his hands look very tight on the camera
This reminds me of the movie SMILE. The trauma demon disguises itself as everyday-looking people but makes sure that whoever it's targeting knows they're in the room and no one else can see what they are. The demon, when in human disguise, will tilt its head forward like it's preparing to lunge at you.
the fact that the perpetrator is a human and not a cartoonish monster like I was expecting, is much more disturbing and scary because it’s realistic. this sort of stuff unfortunately happens on a daily…

ikr
I lowered the volume cuz I thought there would be a jump scare 😭
you “horror elitist” nerds are mad weird constantly hating on jump scares nothing wrong with them
There's something so sad about the fact that Caleb probably followed the Kipsneed because he thought he would get in trouble if he told his parents that he broke his camera. Feels way too real, too close to how little kids think and how predators take advantage of little kid logic
I wonder if his parents punished him before for breaking things by accident
It'd make sense why he'd want to follow a complete stranger over his parents
Somehow the completely clean, bloodless cuts on the ankles makes it all the more eerie.
While processing the photos, I was confused why there was no blood.
I wondered if maybe there is some supernatural element to whatever happened to the boy, like he just clipped out of our dimension.
Or maybe his blood was drained, and his body was cut into multiple pieces.
I think the most unfortunate theory is that his feet were cut off, so he can't/couldn't run away from his captor.
I like that they didn't use a creepy creature for when the boy saw his kidnapper, just a regular man, like in reality. This shows that the intentions of this short-film are to show the reality of things, magnificent.
It's scary how realistic the man is compared to the cute animation of the video
I like the idea that the cartoon wasn’t what’s real and the camera captured the truth of the situation.
It was some guy in a fairy costume or either the uncanny cartoon fairy was real
Ah yes, because the fairy knocking on his window is super realistic
That's not true, actually. You can still see the fairy in one of the photos.@@joshraid1550

Man the Kipsneed’s design is the perfect mix of cute and horrifying. Deeply uncanny but kinda endearing at angles.

Mouth too big. No eyelids.
If you think about it, it’s sort of like a PSA warning children against the dangers of strangers
That what I was thinking as well, since PSA like this tend too have dark undertones.
It feels like that boy was getting stalked by somebody
Especially since they knew that boy's name
Very well-put. We should call it "stranger danger"
@@averythesuperhero indeed
I thought this was obvious
3:10 its brief but that impatient IDGAF look on the cipsneed's face honestly disturbs me because as it looks like he's lowkey losing his patience because he wants to kill this kid already and thats honestly where the horror in this starts.
i love the cipsneed’s design, it’s uncanny and freaky enough to be scary yet brightly colored and expressive enough to resemble a children’s mascot that was genuinely intended to be endearing
Thats what i think makes it all the more scarier. The fact that the kidnappers actually made it genuinely look likeable to a kid, and the animators didnt play into the "scary monster" stereotype. It's literally a kids toy puppet. But the fact that its intent and usage is so evil and horrific makes it more unnerving.
I'd like to imagine the narrator is actually the murderer and he's just recounting the tale like it's some story to himself for an extra level of spook.
This could very well be the killers final words on death row, as he retells the story for everyone to hear before his death. Definitely makes this much more disturbing.
*"FILM THEORY!"*
That concept reminds me of Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Tell-Tale Heart.”
I feel like it might have been the farther, because he sounds sad when he says "the rest of the boy was never found"
i think this is more like a case of hijacking networks, the killer could have made the cartoon and hijacked a popular kids network to broadcast it, since the authorities can't have the knowledge of the conversation of kailyn and the cipsneed, and it would be mad disrespectful to the kid's parents to make a cartoon out of the kid's death. I've heard of cases where killers would go out of their way to mock authorities for not solving their kills, so this might be one of those cases

Since everyone else is doing it, here’s a handful of interesting details I wanted to point out:
1. The narrator (Fantastic job, Richard Stibbard!) has the perfect tone and diction for this kind of story: calm, rich timbre, and the accent has a nice touch of “friendly uncle” to it. (I personally thought Richard was from Northern England because of the accent, but turns out he’s from Cheltenham, near Gloucester!)
2. The abductor was either quiet enough to put Caleb at ease or Caleb was distraught and/or tired enough to not ask too many questions.
3. Caleb’s parents are RIDICULOUSLY deep sleepers, since he clearly went out the front door in order to follow the “Kipsneed” and probably closed it shut, too.
4. Not counting the abductor’s body shot towards the end, we never really see any other PHYSICAL characters, apart from Caleb and the Kipsneed, thus ensuring the vacuum effect that most analog horror seems to work best with: it’s just you and the monster, no one else is there to help or aide you…
5. Something about the lighting effects and the texture of the modeling clay used for Caleb and the Kipsneed really work well together to convey a visual sense of unease with how smooth and shiny everything looks at times, especially since much of the short takes place at night.
6. Caleb’s age is probably one of the most important and telling details in regards to the story’s shock factor: an older child, or one more aware of how the world works, would’ve known something was up at a certain point, and maybe even attempt to escape or fight back. But of course, a six-year-old wouldn’t know such things outside of maybe not talking to strangers. That’s probably how the abductor was able to deceive Caleb so well and trick him into following him. And because someone so young would naturally be enticed by a colorful toy-like creature, it worked out TOO well to the abductor’s advantage….
PHENOMENAL job and massive kudos to Brandon and Richard for their work here!

I like to think this narrator was taken by surprise how this story ends. It does start as a kids story, but the predator intercepts it twisting the narrative.
The typical fairy tale would’ve had the boy go on a magical adventure, make loads of friends then achieve his mission. Instead, this tale becomes a predators story. His twisted, broken mind took advantage of the fairy tales to lure this kid out, breaking a pattern and sabotaging the innocence of this sweet boys life.

It never got to finish as Caleb promptly smashed his fist into the creature's smiling yellow maw and shattered every bone. Still reeling from the impact, the creature staggered backwards, right off the roof it had been standing on. It crashed into the rough gravel driveway below with a thunderous thud. Nothing but silence followed.
Having stopped screaming but with his chest still heaving, a trembling Caleb peeked down out from the rustling curtains of his open bedroom window down at the fairy's body lying limp below. A crimson pool of blood circled outwards from its oblong skull and soaked into his mother's prized begonias. In the waxy spotlight of the moon, Caleb was finally able to see the jagged outline of a knife and a thick roll of duct tape that the creature had tucked into both its colorful felt wings. Whoever made this had a great knowledge of what 70's UK kids tv was like. The music, the narration and the stop motion effect is all absolutely spot on!
I saw clips of this on a review video about analogue horror. This reminded me of the scariest night of my life. One night when I was a kid, I had a weird dream I was in Venice and my hotel room were full of artwork and motifs of the Gorgon, Medusa. All of a sudden, I was woken up by a female voice shouting out for help. It was coming from the other side of the eastern wall of my room, and there was nothing on the other side, just the sheer vertical outside wall, and my bedroom was upstairs. There was no way anybody could've climbed up to that spot. I wanted to ignore it, so I turned on my TV, which was right next to my window. The problem with that was, this happened before flatscreens existed, it was a cathode ray tube TV, and it made a loud noise when I turned it on. Whoever or whatever was shouting for help heard it and came to my window and started knocking. It was a good thing my roller blind was down. Part of me wanted to open it to see who or what was there, but I was far too scared to. So I put a video on, went back to bed and played Pokémon on my game boy until the voice went silent and I drifted off to sleep. When I woke up, I noticed my TV was still on, and I remembered it was off when I went to bed, then I remembered what happened. This video made me glad that I didn't open the roller blind that night.
Yeah, I’m more creeped out by your story than I was the video.
I think it’s worth mentioning that caleb was so upset and nervous about his camera being broken. When you make your kid too scared to tell you they’ve done something ‘bad’ or sharing stuff with you you make them more vulnerable.
This is a good comment @bats6318 I 100% agree
I never even thought about this, but you're totally right

Kipsneed is really skirting that line between creepy and innocent looking. He's colorful and playful looking, like a character from a preschool show, but hes got forward-facing eyes like a predator, and there are tiny hints to his true nature sprinkled onto his conversation with the boy.
“The rest of the boy was never found”
Holy shit dude, that quote alone is scary and the image of the boy’s two feet remaining is the finishing touch to this scary film. I think this is true fear, right here.
I love how at around 5:20 the tiny tots logo disappears, and the narrator turns into more a a documentary style narrator instead of a storybook/kids tv one. And the imagery becomes realistic.
It slowly turns into a true crime doc.
@@AlexiTheRobloxPlayeryou misspelled cailen wrong, and thats how your wrong
Oh snap, I don’t notice that.
The fact that the Cipsneed had plenty of chances to just grab Cailen while his window was open but instead chose to lure him into a dark house in the woods is what gets me.
Like he could've easily snatched Cailen up and ran away and that alone would be horrific.
But the fact that he instead chose to toy with him and lure him into a trap legitimately disturbs me.
agreed. being kidnapped is a terrifying thought in itself but this version of it kinda puts the pain on you because then you have to think that you brought yourself into this mess. it’s terrible. this really scared me. also the picture of the outside of the house i swear it had bones and skulls in front. terrifying
im pretty sure he wouldnt, though. the whole point of the scheme was to gain cailen's trust, because most kids actually won't just listen to randoms until they actually do form a sense of security and trust with the person. if he just snatched the kid right there, cailen would just scream and his parents would hear it and everyone else in the neighbourhood too. i think most kidnappers in real life does something similar to what kipsneed did here, maybe less dramatically, but basically luring kids away to their places. paedophiles do this as well when grooming children and inviting them to their houses.
@@user-zi6ms4td8t bro those are bushes if you pause it
if he tried grabbing him, cailen would have screamed, obviously.
The Kipsneed isnt real, it was just a puppet the kidnapper was using to lure the boy out. The puppet couldn't grab Cailen, that's why Cailen had to be lured out to where the kidnapper could get them.
So very underrated, the storytelling feels so real, and not like other analogue horror series where the cartoons are beyond messed up no, this actually feels real, the cartoon here *feels* real, it makes it all the more better and truthful with quality and not some cheap mess, good job on this.
God i hate those underrated comments like bro there is nothing underrated bout this.
@@deshunnuts9055 Lol well I gave my reasoning, as I said it feels like a cartoon that could've been aired on television (apart from the end), and overall realistic unlike other analogue horror series that don't feel real, but rather a parody (as they are), here though, it feels all natural and real. You may critique maybe the lack of story or the simplicity of it, but I love it, it's so very real and it doesn't need much more, and it is a very unpopular short video, that's why I find it underrated just because I feel like it should get more attention, but it's okay if you have this opinion, I get we all have different opinions on the internet 😊 (although I would say hate is a very strong word, and would advise you to use it more wisely, unless you truly hate my comment, in which I don't get, considering I explained my reasoning).

For all we know, they could have been sinister in intention. I wouldn't be surprised if this video fooled people into thinking that maybe, just maybe, they recalled watching this as a kid.
The fact that the sleep fairy has a large mouth and small eyes just reminds me of a snake or crocodile, and really makes the uncanniness of his appearance. 3:19 really shows this, his lack of eyebrows and open mouth like he’s about to attack. So hard to put into words the amount of alarms this sets off.

This is horrifying and really well written. It almost feels like the Sleepfairy was just a puppet being used by a human stalker. It would explain why the Sleepfairy tells Calen to "follow his voice" meaning he's staying just out of reach. Which would be good if you're a human who's trying to hide.
the Sleepfairy is most likely a puppet
Yes, at the image popping at 5:44 you can see the "Kipsneed" as the boy would actually see it, a lifeless puppet in our eyes, a friendly fairy to his, the man controlling it stays in the darkness in order to no be seen
@@KnightofTheBlackTemplars Oh god i didn't notice that. Even the puppet is fucking creepy as all hell
When that sleep fairy came in frame I went “no kid don’t believe it”
3:40 The Kipsneed fading away and then Caleb looking directly to the audience is haunting. It’s like he’s asking the audience for help or some sort of reality check, but we aren’t there for him. He’s contemplating his options. Poor boy just wants his beloved camera fixed and also probably fears getting in trouble with his parents.
I love the childish cartoon this film is set in, but the pictures Caleb took were set in our reality. I also love how it just tore you apart with suspense and there weren’t any jumpscares. I just love this film!
It’s really sad how this poor little boy just wanted to fix his camera instead he got brutally mauled by some criminal
There’s a ton to unpack here.
For one thing, the narrator makes this way scarier than it would be with simple dialogue. It sounds less like he’s telling a story, and more like he’s watching Caleb during this. The shift in the narrator’s voice at the end is incredible. He sounds like he’s on the verge of tears and creates even more of the horror in the film.
Then there’s the Kipsneed(?). It looks enough like a sweet little puppet, but the fact that it’s eyes are in front of its head and the way the jaw opens is truly terrifying. I know from personal experience how terrifying anything looking at you from your window is, but this? I’d be dead on the spot.
Finally, there’s the end. Only Caleb’s feet are left, but why? Is he alive? Is the rest of him in one piece? How were they cut off? There are so many unanswered questions, and that has to be the most horrifying thing about this film. Humans want the answers, and uncertainty leads to terror. Not only this, but the photos are less like parts of the story and more like evidence that whatever happened to Caleb was not simply a kidnapping. It makes this less like a kids show and more like a unsolved case, animated to piece together the clues about what happened to Caleb.
This is easily one of the scariest things I’ve ever seen. Every part is perfection. 10/10!
Maybe he's feet were cut to keep him from getting away
and forward-facing eyes mean it's a predator!
Caleb is definitely dead no way a child is surviving the blood loss trauma and pain from getting legs removed I think the killer knocked out cut him up and ate him since no other body part was found then left the legs behind to leave a trail for the police
this fairy fairy Person is an infamous serial killer he travels across the world to find children then leaves their legs behind for the police as a symbolic sign of completely taking away their chances of ever escaping
My brother helped me make this observation! In the beginning of the video, it says “Once upon a star, there LIVED a boy named Kailyn. He WAS a happy little tot of six years old” This infers that Kailyn isn’t alive anymore.
@@rpickle7779 well we don't know, so if it's an unsolved case for a while the victim could be presumed dead, worse case scenario

It’s incredibly haunting how the little tv logo disappears as soon as he walks into the killers, or what we can assume is the killers house. The childlike innocents is gone as we’re about to figure out the fate of the poor boy.
6:47 I love how right at this moment, the narrator's voice sounds more somber and less cheery. amazing detail that i love
same with when he goes inside, his voice is hopeless and somber
It actually starts around the 5 min mark. The narrators voice gets deeper
This type of animation scares me for some reason like it’s just unsettling so a short horror film like this scares me more.
2:35 I like how the kipsnead's lore is a bit inconsistent. He's supposed to just be Calynn's personal sleep fairy, but he knows everyone across the world. Also he's supposed to be somewhat omniscient but he didn't know about the camera at all. No explocit, obvious contradictions, but just strange enough for most adults to recognize. Not to mention that the whole portal thing was made up 100% on-the-spot
