I had very similar experiences with the pico and the 20. The 20 is pretty much perfect for a smaller spot. Flying characteristics for a whoop style drone is insanely good!
I actually thought I have already seen you flying that Pavo20. And I honestly thought I have heard you saying only good things about that drone. (I realized I have mistaken your flywoos dark star review with the Pavo 20) I have based my buy 3 weeks ago on your good words. True story. Hahaha 😂. Anyways, I am not disappointed. The Pavo pico has not lived up to my expectations but the Pavo 20 did. Now I have that out of my way, I will enjoy your review and hope you will come to the same conclusion as me. Hope you compare it as well to the dark star. I am genuinely curious how the dark star compares to the Pavo 20.
The gelo phenomenon of Pavo-Pico was so severe. I am also flying very satisfactorily because no gel phenomenon has been found after switching to the Pavo-20. However, even if I want to lower the camera angle a little more, I think it's too big a disadvantage to be covered by the hoop. It's okay when flying aggressively, but the camera angle is too bad when flying indoors or slowly. Personally, I was very satisfied with the 560 battery, and it was okay because the 3-leaf prop allowed me to fly more cheerful than the pure 2-leaf prop for aggressive flights. Thank you for the good review video today.
It's sad that the pico had jello, loved the little drone! Yes is a shame that you can see ducts, would have been perfect otherwise, I'll try 3 blades props!
Flylens if you want to go light and silent is the best option, has also a better camera mount and no obstruction Pavo 20 if you need a bit more power, probably more resistant too They fly similar tuning wise, Pavo has just more power and accelerates quicker
Thank you for these videos. I am about to buy a small whoop, considering this or cineon c20v2. My other two quads are flywoo lr4 and speedybee m5 v2, both o3. You are the only major fpv youtube guy who did a video for c20v2. Can you give me your recommendations? For fun at home and travel to stay under 250g. Thank you!!
Guys, if you get this or the pavo pico v2, take a close look at the small tab to which the power cable and usb connector are attached. It is a very delicate design and I really suggest you find a way to secure the battery cable to keep all stress off of the FC tab. Mine broke on the second flight in a light crash on the carpet. If the traces in that tab break, you lose all usb communication and any ability to power the flight controller. I like these little guys for the purpose they are built, but I am replacing with a different board, and out another $70.
Hello again from Canada! (Eh? LOL) Great video. I just purchased and received the Pavo20 last week. As this is my first FPV drone I am familiarizing myself with the Betafpv settings and saw you did the turtle mode. Would you consider sharing your settings you had for this drone or the flight? Curious if you were able to recover the battery also. Looking forward to your multitest but I feel your preference is the flylens. :) Thanks and keep your videos coming! Take care :)👌
I am using the stock settings coming with the drone, just mapped the controls to suit my radio in the modes tab, if you need help setting it up dm me on Instagram! I think it may be a tie with the flylens, I prefer lighter and less noise but some people may want a little more power so the Pavo is the better choice!
My personal top tier is 1) flylens 85 naked o3: light, silent best camera mount but a little more exposed components, so if you crash will be less durable 2) Pavo 20: a bit more power than the flylens and seems like has no jello, but shows a bit of ducts at low camera angles and is a tiny bit heavier and noisier 3) darkstar: light silent and flies good, but shows a bit of jello sometimes
Hello Rimzler, Thank You for your informative test videos, which I find essential for making drone choices in the end, which batteries do you recommend ? The 550mAh or the 650mAh at 95C, or the 650mAh 75C do You think they would be sufficient ? Also : are You Italian ? With the Compliments for all and location included ! Ciao !
Thank you for tuning in! Well the bigger the more battery life but heavier and less snap, I believe around 550 is the sweetspot especially being 3s, but check how much heavier those bigger batts are! Yes I'm Italian ahahajhahahaha
Thank you for a great review! I suppose you got the elrs version. Did you have to unsolder anything or did you just deactivate an uart and activate another one for the DJI rc?
I've done this with my Husky too, after a while she pretended to dont care about the meteor65 anymore, just to attack within milliseconds like a snake. Luckily she just destroyed the frame! 😂
What do you think about putting bigger motors on the Pavo20? For example 1204 or 1404? BetaFPV has a F405 AIO 20A 2-4S board, so maybe swap that with the original and go 4S with 5000-6000kv motors, any thoughts?
What goggles are you using - Integra or Goggles 2? Are you using a TBS Tango 2 or a Jumper T-Pro controller? Appreciate it if you share the gear you used for this video. Thanks.
This is better than both, the only contender is the flylens 85 if you wanna go lighter and a little more silent, they fly similar tuning wise, Pavo is a little more powerful, flylens has a better softmount for camera and no ducts in view
Hello Rimzler! Great review as always, love the work you do! Regarding Pavo Pico - I am still rocking it, its not so great of a machine, although I like the form factor. Was also struggling with the massive jello from the beginning, I have tried couple of things to get rid of it and the last one, which I believe removed the jello almost completely, was to make sure that camera cable is not touching the carbon frame. Flying pretty solid now I think.
I would have loved it if it didn't have jello, loved the form factor, I got rid of most jello by adding fc grommets in the screw holes that hold the camera, so there is rubber between cam and frame
first I have to say that I really like your reviews I wanted to ask about the air time of the drone I use and the 3s 650 lipo and maximum time i get is about 2 minutes In addition, in the case of a dive, the glider fails to return and crashes do you have a solution to the 2 problems?
If you fly very hard and push, it's normal to get 2 minutes, more relaxed maybe 3/4 are no problem! For the second problem for my testing at least this is one of the few betafpv drones that don't washout during dives, have you touched anything?
Further to the discussion, I would like to update that I found a solution to the 2 problems both for returning from dives and extending the air time by replacing the original propellers with 2 blades with 4 blades from gemfan
@@Rimzlerwhat's the advantage of the pavo20 over flylens 85? Also, how would you compare pavo20 and flylens85 with full o3 version (non-naked) Which one do you prefer?
@joshuaang5338 Pavo has a bit more power at the expense of weight and noise, flylens naked O3 is the way to go imho, with full o3 will be still good but heavier and less powerful
@@Rimzler appreciate your response. So flylens85 naked o3 over pavo 20 Do you think the naked o3 is durable enough? And can handle multiple crashes? I'm afraid about the durability of the o3. Dont wanna lose expensive camera system during multiple crashes
@joshuaang5338 it's going to be less durable, especially for puddles you have to watch out, but the drone is very light and impacts will not be very hard
Hello, is there any video on how to connect the Pavo 20elrs to the dji remote 2? I already tried but I can't get the radio to connect to the dji 03 unit and the gogles but the drone doesn't work, thank you
I don't understand the purpose of this drone. Cinewhoops are for filming but it's not designed for a gopro which you need to use it for work. So it's more like a heavy whoop and not a cinewhoop. Who wants that?
It's like sports cars. Their purpose is to get driven on tracks and for competition but some people simply enjoy driving them on regular roads. The only purpose is fun and that Pavo 20 is a lot of fun. (Oh and the recordings are usable...)
@@importon hehe. That point is on you. The ducts are limiting the full potential. I am not that sure if those ducts are actual ducts or more kind of guards as first defense against impacts. Maybe I'll give the Pavo a try without those and check if it's worth risking the somewhat fragile frame for the weight saving and aerodynamic advantage.
For flying indoors ad also outdoors it's a good and fun choice, camera quality is usable for social, travel and for low requirement jobs where a very small drone is needed and don't need the most amazing camera quality
I got mine only for slow flying indoors and for very close flying around people. My other 03 is a 3" built for fun. I agree, if you are sticking solely to outdoor flying, no ducts is far better. I saw on a different channel where a guy removed the ducts on his pavo pico and he said it flew a lot better. I haven't tried that yet.
Pavo is more powerful and no jello, and that matters a lot to me! Darkstar makes less noise and lighter, is also tuned better, but the fact it has a tiny bit of jello is an issue for me
Another great review! I just used your link to purchase the Pavo 20! Thanks again, and please keep up these quality reviews!
Thank you so much, great choice, let me know how you find it!
Finally been waiting for this. I have this pavo20 and doesnt have jello it flies exactly like yours. Great reviews! Fun to watch. 😁
Glad to know, thanks for the feedback and for tuning in!
