A few REALLY big mistakes in this one that altered the whole game. Kaldor Draigo's squad has to come down in HIS reinforcement step, not a rapid ingress target. Two, the deathwing termies doing establishing locus cannot charge. It cost Michael two dreadknights a full round before the deathwing termis should have gotten there.
I did break a rule, actually. In Leviathan, you could stop an action by shooting/charging, but they made a very specific change in Pariah Nexus that says once you start an action, you can't do that. It was a miss on our part big time. Mistakes happen but I don't feel great about it.
This game felt like the DoW opening cinematic The Dark Angels went "RAAAAAAAH" and the Grey Knights went "OOOOOOOO" and just clashed in a big pile of killin'

People have talked about teleport assault already. One thing i saw that confused me was the psycannon shot nearing the end of the game from the strike squad. It has the lite variant of the psycannon s8 -1 2D it does not ignore cover. That is the heavy on the dreadknights.
This is correct - alot of things get cut out in order to take 5-6 hours of shoot and turn it into the 40m formula! I did remember the lethal hits and deadly demise, but unfortunately the sixes didn't feel like showing up!

How come Steve declared an action with death wing knights in the center board but charged with that unit? Establish finishes at the end of your turn and you can’t declare a charge with the unit doing an action.
You used to be able to do it. However, in Pariah Nexus, they did actually change that rule. It was a mistake on my part. Before you could shoot/charge and then the action would instantly fail (how I played it) however now you can't do that. Doing an Action stops you from doing anything

I hope the Grey Knights get their models updated, making them primaris goes against their purpose. They're special tools crafted explicitly for their job just like the Custodes, Sisters of Silence and the entire Assasinorum.
Most enjoyable - thanks gents! One question for my learning; when the brutalis did the heroic intervention and charged in on that third time - should his ability to apply mortals on the charge have taken place? Thought that would have been out of phase as it wasn’t Steve’s turn.
The ability triggers whenever it finishes a charge, and it doesn’t specify that it only occurs during your phase. Heroic Intervention only stops you from getting the First First bonus of charging, it still allows you to resolve charge-completion rules (Brutalis, red rampage for Blood Angels, etc.)
"Brutalis Charge: Each time this model ends a Charge move, select one enemy unit within Engagement Range of it and roll one D6: on a 2-3, that enemy unit suffers D3 mortal wounds; on a 4-5, that enemy unit suffers 3 mortal wounds; on a 6, that enemy unit suffers D3+3 mortal wounds." so each time he charged
Haven’t watched the battle report yet but I’m guessing it’s not gonna go well for the GK. Gotta run a grand master with terms or paladins to ignore all those modifiers.
