I own a Sidekick 640. A few key things to address. It uses a 16650 and not the 18650 battery. With the 16650 battery life is pretty good. The Sidekick struggles in high humidity and hot ambient temps. It doesn't come with a helmet mount and the one they offer is expensive. If you want to helmet mount it, the better option is the mention Rayvn mount. Be sure to get the one that is for the Sidekick (they now offer other thermal options). It is light and the video capture is very handy. I use the Forest option. I have played with the settings, but if you get it, you can use their preprogrammed options.

Image seems horrible for a 640. Looks like 384
It actually seems to lose some quality when in recorded videos. While using it is its actually pretty good.
It’s still bad if you start zooming though
So I’m stuck between the rh25 and the sidekick. I don’t intend on using it primarily as helmet mounted almost exclusively for my Ar-15 in front of my 1-8 vudu lpvo
I have the sidekick640. It's not weapons rated and there is no mount to use it as a clip on. The RH25 is a much better option for what your use case is.
I am planning to eventually look into testing a clip on as well
