Felt exactly how you felt , after being extremely excited. Felt let down a bit a hour after opening it. By the end of the night, was absolutely obsessed. I feel you don’t get the full experience until connect a computer. Also, it takes a bit of time to get used to selecting. Once you master it, it’s like Magic.
Josh Medeski said something similar. I might bring one home for a deeper testing session when I get back from traveling. I would love to hear your impressions after a few more days.
I would love to talk to you about the lack of Social Connection in the AVP. I have purchased Quest headsets specifically for creating in a 3D space, and found my focus went to Horizon Worlds because it combines Building and Social in a rather complete way. Like you, I will wait and see what the next generations will produce before purchasing.
You get two head straps one that is usually shown in the demos and another with a center strap that goes over your head to distribute the weight much better. I personally cannot see myself wearing such a large device. Not sure why Apple decided on this technology when something smaller could have been developed such as a pair of glasses. Not that I am comparing this to the Google Glass which was more of a single eye piece on a glasses frame. After all Samsung did come out with the transparent OLED Display just make it smaller if the technology allows it.
From the tech point of view, Apple Vision Pro is actually really good and for example the facetime app looks awesome for some remote meetings. At the same time VR is not there yet. It's all a fine gadget to play with for an hour in day and that's it. Imo only AR/XR monocle/glasses will actually change how we might work and that's still years ahead. Also VisionPro is so expensive that even Valve Index or HTC Vive seems cheaper. Not to mention Meta Quest 3
The team at Apple have done a great job with the current hardware limitations. This is an excellent proof of concept, but isn't ready for most just yet.
What Apple wants is AR Glasses. I think the smarter play should have been to release “AirPod Glasses” with bone conduction audio and then iterate from there.
4:11. I've always thought of Apple as a software company that makes hardware, and not the other way around. Apart from looking pretty, Apple's hardware is usually behind the game. The entire reason to buy an Apple product is the software stack.
Interesting take. I can’t even muster up the interest to go in for a Demo. I use several Apple products and am generally a fan. However, I just don’t get this one. I would not want to wear the gear for work, and while I suppose watching a movie might be fun, I much prefer the idea of watching on a flat screen or even an iPad when I don’t want to disturb anyone else. I can see lots of commercial applications for AR. However, since I do not play computer games I just can’t see the value right now for me. As for the price, it is obviously quite a bit of money that only gets worse for a family of 4.
the bigscreen beyond seems more reasonable price vs size and we all know the vision is an alpha product but I still don't see a market for VR/AR for most people. VR/AR isn't 10x better than just using a TV or an external monitor or usng your phone. I think the dysotopian fuure with neuralink is more likely like the matrix before mass adoption of goggles for VR/AR
The “alone” factor……. Why is that a topic, when ALL VR headset only really offer SINGULAR experiences. Apple’s Vision Pro is the only device that has person fade-in and an eyesite feature, so at least they’re doing something to include more than the user. Thoughts?
The other VR headsets are pitching themselves as gaming machines. This is pitching that this is where you will use your computer and do more of your everyday activities. I agree that this phenomenon isn't unique to the Apple headset, I was just surprised by how "depressed"/"lonely" I felt immediately after using it.
In your next video, please tell us of a better and more advanced headset BECAUSE I WANT THE BEST! Money not being a factor!!!!!!!!! Please, leave the topic of COST out of it. Thanks 😊
Go out to the stores and try them out yourself. If money is no option buy the top 3 you like in the store, run them through the paces for a week. Return the 2 you don't like.
This is still probably the best you can get at the moment, but it stills feels very first generation. If you live in the US, go demo or bring one home. You can always return it if it doesn't meet your expectations.
VR with an E-Ink display when?😎
I had the exact same experience with the weight distribution. It wasn’t quite right - felt tilted up almost, resting on my forehead.
I thought it was the light seal being wrong, but the person helping me with the demo felt that it is just how the device sits. Unfortunate.
Very interesting. Thanks bud. Can't wait to chat more about it. 🙂
Sounds good. We should get together soon.

One day… hopefully in the not too distant future.

thanks for a truthfull review, i think the price is rediculiose, at this stage, subscribed.
Brandon, were you able to write and read your e ink tablet thru the visor?
lol, definitely not as easy on my eyes.
The question is when do we get the E-Ink Headset.

I can totally see a future “Vision” (non-pro) without a light seal. It would be pretty awesome.
@@BrandonKBoswell The whole category just feels forced like "we have to have something new" I just dont get it yet.

Agreed. The ecosystem is what sets this apart.

One day this will be excellent, but there are some real physical limitations at the moment.
I think I’d want to see way more native apps before I would buy this thing. It seems like most apps are still just floating windows.
I'm okay with the floating windows, but I agree with you that there doesn't appear to be a unique exploration of this space just yet.

The disappointing part is I really enjoyed the software, but I found the hardware frustrating. Bold claim about Neuralink, but you might be right.

@@BrandonKBoswell For all the push for wellness apps by Apple it does feel disconcerting they would do something so isolating post Covid.
lol the problem with people is that you guys are expecting for Apple to completely be 10 years ahead of every company
🤷 with the amount of hype, cost and their reputation, yes a little bit.
That's literally what every Apple blind follower says it is to justify their exorbitant cost.
