I've been wanting an e ink tablet that has some illustrating capabilities beyond the basics of what Supernote and Remarkable offer, but without the distraction of easy Google Play access. Do you think it would be possible to side load some kind of screen mirroring app to use the Supernote as a drawing tablet for Photoshop on my Mac?
@@BrandonKBoswell Bummer, but thanks for the video! Reader is really the only other app I can think of wanting on the Supernote. I have a Note Air 3C and only ever use Kindle and Readwise Reader.
I gave it a try anyway. Takes long to open articles (usually >15 seconds for me) and it gives up on books. Tried 2 different books but gave up waiting after 5 minutes each. A real shame, I really like Rata and the other features of the Supernote, but performance for side loaded apps wasn’t great.

Nice, clearly presented video. Used adb on Win11 to sideload Aurora Store from APKMirror onto new Supernote A5X2. Readwise Reader has an APK on APKMirror as of August '24; somewhat reluctant to use your perma-link. Also sideloaded OneNote (mostly to read notes from my other computers). Loaded Back Button - Anywhere from Google Play using Aurora Store. Was able to sideload (and authenticate) Adobe Digital Editions 1.1 onto Supernote, but no way to get .acsm files opened in it. Found that Calibre w/ NoDRM/DeDRM plugins did the trick taking PC ADE-generated .epub/.pdf files, adding into Calibre and letting Calibre migrate the DRM-free.epubs/.pdfs onto the Supernote. All works great and didn't even put a dent in the 256GB micro-SD that I added.
This is a good video, I agree that my case is for reading and writing. I downloaded Kobo, Libby and Nook, which look really good. I also plan to try to add Omnivore. OneNote was not something I wanted to keep but test and it was awful. I tried Obsidian as well, which I couldn't get working. Thanks again.
Hey! What about app updates? If say GoogleDocs has released the updates, should I remove it from SuperNote and reinstall, or will the app update itself by clicking some button in the app settings?

However, does Android automatically offload apps (like IOS) to free up RAM or is it helpful to be able to close apps? I have another android e-ink device (Moaan inkpalm) where I can easily close apps. But have not found a way to do it on my Supernote. Can anyone tell me how to do this?

Wow. Mac software management is a lot like Linux software management (really Red Hat is who built all the first workflow). Of course it is BSD under the covers so, I suppose, that makes sense.

The Problem i have, is that i need one where i can use MS Teams and OneNote on. What device would you recommend If i need those three Apps AS a Minimum...? (Teams, OneNote and Kindle)

How well does Reader run on it? Does it take that long to open every time or just the first time?
What you saw there is the typical speed on a fresh open.

What I will install is a Finance-App that I use. But I only have the old A6x and wait for the A5 or the A4 version.
Do you need a computer to sideload apps or is there a way to do it with a Chromebook or android?
@BrandonKBoswell, the idea is to use a camera like smago usb panoramic camera in my A6X2 and include photos in my notes. Any clue on how to do it?

It should work, but I'm unsure about the pen input / latency. I know that Boox did some custom work to try to make it a better experience.
