11:57 Shashi Tharoor once said, and I'm paraphrasing, "Looking at how advanced our civilization was, given an opportunity, I'm sure India could have had the railways without having the need to be colonised first. Look at how well Japan revolutionised it's economy after WW2".
Abhiram is such a great doctor and a wonderful human being . He is poised for greatness 👍 one of the best episodes . I got so emotional and I can feel Abhiram's emotion .
As a doctor aspiring to be in uk and who is prepping for plab (which is the exam to be a doctor in uk ) which is coming up in few months, i literally cried when abhiram said how he matched his program, its truly inspiring and a boost to lot of doctors. Thanks to Abhiram and thankyou sharan for bringing him to this podcast.❤❤
Thank you so much for this! I just became a doctor and I’m in the process of applying for Neurology and Internal Medicine in the US myself. This video truly felt like my reasons for choosing this align with Abhiram’s. If there is a way to reach out to him and gain more perspective and knowledge, please let me know! It will truly do wonders for me! Thank you for this video Sharan❤
totally relatable with Abhiram. I moved abroad for my further studies, everyone in my family just stopped talking with me. Blocked even. When i was studying for my entrance, my close family members said it to my face that i cant do it.
India is not as bad as he said...is what i feel cz im from a gvt med clg and we do show empathy and the patients love us and choose to come to us...we have a spl bond with our patients and we dont make them wait for months just to show empathy...the security thing is a huge problem tho...in a lot of north indian states...idk...im getting confused about what i was trying to say as i write this comment...is India really that bad of a country for doctors ?...
It is mostly a North Indian issue I feel. But the latest issues is a national issue. There definitely has to be stronger unions. I studied in India and never had an issue studying in Kerala, blessed that way. But hospitals have to improve and treatment of workers.
Heyy...please talk about lawyers career someday...it would really help people who are thinking of making career in that field....all the challenges, opportunities, and covering everything.....pleaseee....humblee requesttttttt
