Hey I'm very new to crocheting (I started a few days ago) and I have a little question: I really struggle with getting my hook through stitches and especially with getting my hook through the loop. Even when I really try stay loose it gets super tight one I start working into the stitches. Would you have any advice for this? Ps: I love your videos❤❤ they're so much more easy to follow
Hi! I’m so sorry it took me so long to respond. I haven’t been on RUclips lately for some personal reasons but I plan to get back into it soon. If your problem is with going into your starting chain, you should use a hook that’s two sizes or so up to make your starting chain, then switch to whatever hook you plan to use for your project. That’ll give you a loser starting chain to work into. If your problem is with all your stitches being too tight you might want to size up your hook in general. That can be an issue if you’re using a hook size too small for your yarn. If you’re making something that doesn’t need to be a really precise size it shouldn’t matter too much in regards to the finished product. Ive also recently started using yarn rings to help keep a steady yarn tension and that’s been helping me after a hand injury that made it harder for me to control my yarn. That could perhaps help you as well. I plan to make a video about yarn rings soon. For more info on them. Let me know if that helped and if you have more questions I’m happy to answer! Edit to add another tip: Don’t pull your stitch tight after finishing it. Let it come off your hook, and leave it how it is. I’ve seen some people finish their stitch and then give their yarn a little tug to tighten. Just leave it the size it leaves your hook if that makes sense. I’m not sure if that’s your problem or not but thought I should add it just Incase.
Thank you! Your video is the clearest and easiest to follow for understanding the how to of crocheting. I feel confident I can crochet now. ❤❤❤
Thank you for watching! I’m so glad I could help ❤️
