  • Here's my rendition of the accordion classics - The Jolly Caballero by Pietro Frosini. At this occasion, I wanted to show you the instument I played on when I was about 14 years old - Weltmeister Supita. What was your first proper accordion?

    I'm a pianist who's been moving around a lot lately, and thus have no piano. You inspired me to pick up a piano accordion (salanti lm41) last month, so I'd have something to keep myself sharp and I've been having so much fun with it. While I'm not sure it counts as a "proper" accordion, it is my first (and only) accordion. More informal videos would be a real treat too!

    My first proper accordion was a Morino, but I had it only for about 6 months. About 3 years ago I replaced it with a brand new Pigini P150. What a great instrument!
    Milan, thank you for the music 🙂

      Morino is a great instrument! Both accordions are very good, but a good older Morino may be quite precious!

    I have not heard this tune since I took lessons when I was a kid. Many, many years ago. I never knew how it was supposed to sound until now! Thank you, Milan!

    I learned this piece when I was 16. I fell in love with all things Frosini after that. I first heard this piece played by The Concert Trio, which included Palmer and Hughs. I played it on my then new Excelsiola. 45 years later I purchased a new Petosa AM1100. Thanks for your excellent rendition.

    I like the admission about black accordions. That was a good one. My first full-sized accordion was a Delicia Choral V, an instrument 10 years older than I was. I was just surprised to find out it still worked. I started playing the instrument again last year.

    Hi! You just rewinded my memory to elementary music school. Was also playing the same piece :) one of my best favorite at that time. Later on it was pushed into second by Piazolla’s Libertango - enjoyed it very much while performing in accordion quintet:)

    My first „proper“ accordeon is a Hohner Verdi. Nothing special, i still have it. It was the upgrade from the Hohner Concerto. If money wouldn‘t matter, i would have a Bugari.

    You should have played on your Weltmeister, I would like to see you play a piano accordion. My first proper accordion was Paolo Soprani Super Paolo, I bought it 20 years ago, and I still have it. Unfortunately I don't have the time to play as often as I used to, I'm busy working. I hope soon I'll have the time to start playing again, I miss playing my accordion very much.

    I like these informal videos a lot. I wonder why some switch to buttons during their studies. Is there a particular reason for this?

    • @milanrehakofficial
      @milanrehakofficial  Год назад +3

      One of the reasons may be the overall trend so to say, then the buttons are more compact so you can play technically difficult pieces a bit more easily, and then a lot of original accordion literature is composed directly for bayan (button accordion) so it fits the fingers better. And last, the button accordions have a much bigger range. But otherwise there is no serious difference, there are virtuosos both on buttons and piano accordions.

    Масса и габариты изделия влияют на звук. О вкусах не спорят, но Weltmeister звучал вкуснее. Твой текущий какой-то пресновато-кисловатый на его фоне...
