    I empathize deeply with the students who didn't secure on-campus housing. I can only imagine the stress and challenges they must be facing. I sincerely hope you've found a decent place to stay, and I wish you all the best in your academic pursuits.

      Hi. Why do you say that? I've been accepted for Fall 24, and I'm considering off campus housing as it's cheaper. I'm an international student btw.

      @@syedaneesibrahim7308 As a freshman you will be fine but the new dorm only offers about 870 beds and still more than 4000 beds are needed. Google "Perdue housing crisis" to learn more. Most off-campus rentals are done in November the year before. So good luck with your apartment search as I need to do so too.

      Lmao I’ve been here since 2021 and it’s been awful. This most recent year was the worst ever tho. I’m a senior and was going to live in Cary SE cuz I couldn’t get anything else 🤮

    Jefferson HS Sophemore here, just across the river from Purdue West Lafayette.
    The water thing is certainly either an Indiana thing, or at least a local city thing. Either way, I understand that lol. Last year, my school's water was NASTY. Definitely not just main buildings either, cause I live neae a park and the water still tastes like that. Lived here my whole life, and I can say it has gotten worse so far. Only thing we can do to help change it is really just vote to have water cleaning and stuff done.
    Academicly-wise, from research I've done, It really just varies between school to school for the entry of course work.
    Reguarding the location, I pretty much agree with it. Purdue Main is basically right in the middle of nowhere-just betwen Chicago and Indianapolis. Only thing "to do" here, other than sports, would probably be like fishing, rec swimming/parks, Malibu Jack's-only those really pop up to mind when I think of things to do here related to location.
    Athletic-wise, well, pretty sure all of us heard about Zach Edey. Obviously Ross-Ade Stadium, T&F, Swimming & Diving. On somewhat of a personal note, I've had a few issues with the Track head coach. I attempted to contact him on multiple occasions, to no avail. Reasoning for doing so, was because of PR's, and future programs + a few questions I had. Swimming-my other main sport-I have had no problem with. Swam in the 200 Medley Relay and 100M Backstroke at NCC, held at Purdue's Natatorium. GODDAMN THAT PLACE IS HUGE! Very well maintained.
    People having togetherness is certainly a big part of here though, and it's definitely not just Purdue's campus. All of my previous school, all just have had that really nice tightly knit family feeling. While I know that Uni live is definitely very different that HS/MS life, it still is proved that everyone here is generally pretty close together. Except for that one a--hols in the black ford pick-up truck who blew a stop-sign, then followed me, cursed/threw slurs at me, etc. etc. yada yada. Those people do not and should not represent Lafayette/West Lafayette.
    Overall, I really enjoyed this video. I've had plans to go to Purdue since 7-8th grade, and this really gave me some insight on what It'd be like. Not some school sponsored video, or some sponsored tour-something that shows a large variety of good, and bad-and also a video that gets down and to the point perfectly. Thank you.
    .......if you're wondering-no, I dont spend my free time solely making YT comments, lol... It's 9:30 PM, I'm bored and have nothing to do, then found this vid that hit me home lol.

    Sorry to see it takes so much just to get into the top bunker bed. Could you please provide updates on the housing issue for the upcoming class 2024?

      For freshmen, you'll get guaranteed housing, but it's pretty much luck if you get AC and good bathrooms (unless you do WiE). Worst is Wiley and Tark residence halls by far, but people just accept it after a while. However, after the first year, it's a complete mess. For fall 2024, around 5000 people didn't get housing on campus at all.

    I got admitted to Purdue and I am thinking about going, if I don’t get in campus housing, will it be hard to get an off-campus housing tho? And will it be expensive to rent an apartment? Thankssss

    • @sheehanmunim
      @sheehanmunim  7 месяцев назад

      First year is guaranteed campus housing. Though second year is a gamble. Typically the off campus is typically the same price, though it’s far and not the best. The closer and better off campus places are like 12k a year
