Thank you so much for this video! I'm getting into sculpting and I really needed a video that went over the tools and explained how you use them. This was short and gave me all of the information! Thanks again! By the way I love all of your sculptures! I hope to be as talented as you are some day. :)
love the video im still new at sculpting so this bit of information really helped me know more about it- thank you! it was very well explained and demonstrated too- great job. now i want to go out and sculpt something with some new proper sculpting tools lol!! all i used before was a spray bottle, a knife, and a pencil for details. how embarrassing haha XP
Wow...that was a great video...I am just starting cake figurines...I am going to try some of your techniques on gumpaste/fondant....thanks for sharing. XO
ohh..how proffesional you are also very gernerious person ....now i know what tools to bye to be maid too . im a styrofoam suclpture artist.. i would like to do clay sculpture. thanks for aploading such a nice video thanks alot...
thank you for this (and others) video.your work is wonderful, and i,m always picking up a tip or two.i also think you have a lovely voice !-thanks,please keep the vids coming.
@swishtut Water based clay is inexpensive, what is important when you create big pieces. It can be fired for permanency. This kind of clay it is perfect for making “sketchy” pieces.
@swishtut There is nothing wrong with using polymer clay. This is popular clay for small prototypes where a high degree of details is needed. It can be baked for permanency. Because polymer clay has kind of rubbery texture it is better to use wooden or dental tools.
you rock and I really enjoyed the tutorial over the basics. Very very useful. I hope that I can contact you in future for advice...btw. I speak some Polish. What part of Canada?
hi, ive been looking for this video, but can you enumerate the names of those tools you mentioned in your video ? im a student from an animation class, and we are focussing on clay sculpting right now. ill wait for your response. please and thanks ^^ helpful video.
@StateOfViolence -she showed all the tools you need...watch it again, and go to ArtMart,or whatever, and buy what you saw in J,s vid.its really fun to go art supply shopping too.
Hello Joanna, I have watch some and search process of smoothing out the piece, but I can't achieve that perfect point yet. What may I be doing wrong, or not doing it... I have used lighter fluid, alcohol and tupertine with rough then soft brush... but without sucess.Do you have any video where it shows the process of it? I would really appreciate it.Thanks a lot.
Evelyn gottin creo se debe sacar el vapor con la tapa del horno un poco abierto y bajo de temperatura, así las piezas no se quiebran, bueno es lo que hago con todo respeto. Saludos
Which kind of oil based clay would you recommend, which would be similar in hardness to the water based clay you are using. I normally use the same clay you are using in this video, but I would like to experiment with some oil based clay so I am not under a time constraint as one is with the water based clay.
Would Soft Clay be a good clay for making small figurines? Like anime figures? I only ask because I purchased four packs of brown Daiso Soft Clay, and I was wondering if it's perfect for this kind of sculpting.
+Lah Rock (Metalhead) I dont think so. Polymer isnt generally used for large pieces, is also very expensive comes in small packages . Sculptural non firing clay, 25 lb blocks of clay, though could be a firing clay with no grog like porcelain clay. Not polymer though
542mixie12 I think it might be air dry clay because she wet it and covered it in a plastic bag to keep air out and keep it moist. That's what I do with my air dry clay :)
I could listen to your voice talking about sculpting tools all day.

This type of clay you use, can it be air dried or even simply regular oven dried? If so, for how long?
Thanks! :)
Which is the best clay of the world for sculpt?
Nice❤❤😮
Is there a name for that tool u use with a double edge on it?

What is that clay sir..

This gave me ASMR!?
solid?
@AndybronzemasterX No, I do not cast my work in bronze. Most of my sculptures are made out of clay which I fire in low temperature.
Sorprendente!!
