Don't worry fellas, I didn't expect him to DISMANTLE a feminIST. I can, in fact, read. I expected a long winded, complex explanation that DISMANTLES third wave feminism, which I did not observe in this video. It was a couple simple answers to simple questions. That's why it was misleading.

He's basically saying, rapists are bad and the victim should never be blamed when a rape occurs, which is true, but at the same time, when you make stupid decision, realise you made a really stupid decision and that people might be less sympathetic as a result of that. In other words, try to be responsible and not reckless - don't do silly things just because you can. Being against rape and for sensibility is just common sense, not really the realm of feminism (though they might try to sometimes tell you it is). Also, something about a lack of traditional family values contributing to these sort of things these days too, which is also true.

I broke up with a close friend over this same argument. She refused to accept the reality that, while rapists are the true people at fault, it is also partially USUALLY a result of poor lifestyle choices made by the victims. Poor choices such as getting drunk off your ass... and then leaving yourself vulnerable for strangers. Especially when you are aware that you do not possess enough strength or stamina to fight off such individuals. In a dream world, you can do anything you want and say anything you want, without ever suffering the consequences.... however, the world we humans have been living in, it is far from a beautiful dream. Twisted people exist and these twisted people do not give a fuck about your morals, your ideals, or your desire for complete freedom. There's no point in trying to change these broken individuals. There won't be much success in trying to convince them to change their sinful ways and to stop causing harm to others. So, instead of expecting everybody to magically change themselves for your ideals, it's better to stop frequenting such places instead - where crimes, such as rape, run rampant. I absolutely respect his values. I'm an atheist and I don't have any religious beliefs to go as strict as he does, but I am also very much against "casual sex". Don't worry fellas, I didn't expect him to DISMANTLE a feminIST. I can, in fact, read. I expected a long winded, complex explanation that DISMANTLES third wave feminism, which I did not observe in this video. It was a couple simple answers to simple questions. That's why it was misleading.

Don't get me wrong, third-wave feminism is so much shit that I don't care to go into it here, but it wasn't really the subject of this video. He's basically saying, rapists are bad and the victim should never be blamed when a rape occurs, which is true, but at the same time, when you make stupid decision, realise you made a really stupid decision and that people might be less sympathetic as a result of that. In other words, try to be responsible and not reckless - don't do silly things just because you can. Being against rape and for sensibility is just common sense, not really the realm of feminism (though they might try to sometimes tell you it is).
Also, something about a lack of traditional family values contributing to these sort of things these days too, which is also true.

I broke up with a close friend over this same argument. She refused to accept the reality that, while rapists are the true people at fault, it is also partially USUALLY a result of poor lifestyle choices made by the victims.
Poor choices such as getting drunk off your ass... and then leaving yourself vulnerable for strangers. Especially when you are aware that you do not possess enough strength or stamina to fight off such individuals.
In a dream world, you can do anything you want and say anything you want, without ever suffering the consequences.... however, the world we humans have been living in, it is far from a beautiful dream. Twisted people exist and these twisted people do not give a fuck about your morals, your ideals, or your desire for complete freedom.
There's no point in trying to change these broken individuals. There won't be much success in trying to convince them to change their sinful ways and to stop causing harm to others. So, instead of expecting everybody to magically change themselves for your ideals, it's better to stop frequenting such places instead - where crimes, such as rape, run rampant.
It's better to not put yourself in such a tricky situation in the first place.
