Shaq even admitted to coming back from the off-season out of shape on purpose because he knew Kobe would carry him through the season,and yet Shaq would still get all the credit, and how long was his window after he left the Lakers 2.5 years while Kobe would have another 12.
And that contract Kobe got, yeah I hated it just like everyone else, but Kobe was NEVER asked to take a paycut and what person is into turning down more money? Look at Deng's contract, blame management not the players. In fact Kobe retired early saving us money, because he didn't want to disrespect the game like that.
And maybe he did push other stars away, but you know what if you ain't about winning then I don't want you here anyway, if you think Kobe is hard... then meet the fans, we EXPECT rings!!! Look at how LeBron is getting treated, we want him here to win, we don't give a fuck about your shows, your movies, or anything outside the court, yeah we love him now, but if he doesn't bring home a chip in 2 or 3 years the fans WILL turn, but if he wins he's loved forever. Shaq was starting to get booed before he won in 2000, and Kobe was on the verge as well in 09. That's the Lakers mentality.

Only people that truly watched the Lakers during that time knows Kobe didn't ruin anything. What the sports media is truly alluding to is the last 2 years of Kobe's contract when the Lakers were pretty much stuck because once they saw that young team wasn't producing, they wanted to blame someone. Why not Kobe? That also was a part of the Lebron machine setting up to make him look better than Kobe. They started years in advance. It's only now that people who know the true history and do the research see that Kobe was never a problem in LA. The Shaq years were hard to watch because as a guy who played ball, I know Shaq wasn't the type of player Kobe was. Kobe got better and better while Shaq was cool coming into camp every year fat. Kobe just wanted the dude to work hard because he truly was scouting teams and Kobe knew to beat teams in the West, Shaq had to step his game up. Shaq was missing a few pieces upstairs if you ask me back then. He left Penny Hardaway because he was jealous...he outright told the media the Lakers were his team, and he faked that toe injury to see if Kobe could carry them without him. He did it.
So Kobe haters are really funny. they leave a lot of history out between Kobe and Shaq and why things transpired the way they did. Even the league vetoing the Chris Paul trade was bad enough! they knew Kobe was down for at least 2 more rings with CP3. Someone really doesn't like Kobe...and it's not just fans. Someone in the NBA is (was) against him too.
That shouldn't even be a question! He got them 5 titles! Shaq was declining fast, in 3 years shaq wasn't even elite, but he was still good. I'm not blaming LoW on this, the media is just sooo stupid sometimes and that just angers me! They say complete (sorry for my profanity) bullsh*t and tell everyone that they think right! That is just delusional!

kobe ruined lakers twice. the first time, forced shaq and other good players to leave, single-handedly lost the Lakers the 04 finals. the second time, after his comeback in 2015, he basically forced the young players to waste a year or two of their life. They learned absolutely nothing with him, sacrificing their career for kobe's farewell tour.
