Naw. The Rockets were epic. In both seasons 93-94 & 94-95 they were a different animal. I will salute Dirk for beating Kobe a very very young Thunder team an LeBron Wade an Bosh. But the mid 90s was cutthroat tough. A player like Derek Harper who was on the mid 90s Knicks teams had probably the strongest hands in the league an this was when hand checking was actually defense, now you can't touch these crybaby ass players. Tim Duncan would've managed in that era but what Olajuwon did with his soldiers against Stockton an Malone Robinson Rodman Barkley KJ Majerle Kemp Payton Ewing an the tougher than leather Knicks then a young but very very good Shaq an Penny who beat Jordan to get there exceeds what Dirk did by a hefty margin. Houston wasn't favored in any of those series an came out on top in all 8.

Oh before some fan boy come crying, I know it was the #45 Jordan but still it was Michael Jordan an for that 1 playoff series in the mid 90s Penny Hardaway out played him an eliminated him it doesn't matter he played half a season he was still a very good defender an not only scored 55 on the Knicks he was scoring over 27 on a nightly basis.

it's all a matter of perspective, you could say Kobe won 4 of his finals when his team had 2 hall of famers and the other had 1. Duncan also won 4 of 5 vs teams with only one hall of famers, Jordans Bulls won 55 gms without him, what other 90s roster could lose there best player and do that? Lebron won 2 of his titles in the narrowest and luckiest of circumstances , could be 1-8. They're all legends and amazing players, people just get caught up trying to defend their favorite and try to diminish the competition. Player hating never ends.

A little more perspective: People love to talk about LeBron's finals record of 3-6 being bad, which is fair enough I guess. But imagine if in 2007 he failed to carry his team past Detroit and lost in the ECF. Well his finals record would be 3-5 which isn't as bad of a record right? lol how could getting to the NBA finals and losing possibly be a less successful season than failing to get to the NBA finals? LeBron detractors don't think about it this way.

Even then he also stuffed the stat sheet but because he wasn't out here every press conference bragging about how no one's more tired than him after the game or how he should be the MVP every year people just didn't care to notice. People need to stop using All-Star selections and Hall of Fame acceptance as criteria for "this player was good". All Stars are picked by sportswriters, and have been since the late 70's. Every year we hear about some controversy about players getting snubbed for All Star picks, while more marketable players get attention. And as for the Hall, lots of good players won't get in, because their prime wasn't long enough, or they didn't have the fortune to play on contending teams. The thing about being on a winning team is that it magnifies your opportunities. Your team is better which makes you better; you've got to win to get win shares.

The most misleading fact used in the NBA community is the number of rings a player won. I hate this argument. It means one thing and one thing only: you played on a TEAM and contributed to a TEAM that was better than everybody else. That is a great thing, but when determining the worth of a player, it means squat, zilch, zero, nada, nothing. Bill Russell was completely dominated by Wilt in almost every single matchup they had. Dominated. Not even close. Charles Barkley is one of the most effective offensive machines we've ever witnessed. Patrick Ewing was an awesome force to recon with. Karl Malone and John Stockton were among the greatest to ever play their postions. Reggie Miller was a sight to behold. The list goes on and on.

Rings are an important stat but it is only one stat in a career body of work....granted.....all other stats are a stepping stone to the ultimate stat of obtaining rings but last time I checked.....MJ didn't score every point in every finals game he ever played in......he didnt get every rebound, make every assist, block or steal every time....he had help....same for LeBron and Duncan and Kobe and Shaq .....we focus on individual stats in a TEAM SPORT!!!!! It is a double standard.....we blame great players for their team failures ( unless the player took an action that directly led to losing) but spread the credit around when they win.....people always argue that if LeBron is so great why did he lose so many championships....well, it's simple...it is the case of the greatest (SINGLE) player going up against a better TEAM!!!.....MJ Is great....but so is LeBron....KD.....Steph......Kobe .....Shaq.....Duncan....Iverson.....Kawhi....AD....Giannis.....Kyrie.....Hakeem.....The Admiral.....Magic ....Bird.....Pippen.....The Big O.....Dr. J.....Kareem ...Wilt.....Elgin Baylor....Russell.....The list goes on and on......just be grateful for what they have accomplished and stop making the impossible comparisons of different eras, style of play, strength of opponents....supporting cast etc....just be a true basketball fan and enjoy the greatness and if you are like me where I grew being able to see MJ.....Kobe ....Shaq.....Duncan ....LeBron and So on from tgeir Rookie season until their retirement and eventual enshrinement into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield Mass...I consider myself extremely lucky to have been able to witness once in a generation basketball players 3 or 4 times in my 45 years..... if we use shannon sharpe's arguments on that 2012 miami heat team, there were technically 3 or 4 players that are or have gotten there jerseys retired, 3 hall of famers , one of the greatest shooters of all time and a top 12 sg of all time, a top 3 sg of all time, a top 15 pf of all time, one of the best defenders to never win a dpoy, 2 all defensive talents, a sixth man of the year who was also a rookie of the year, a 3 time nba champion as well as multiple players that won 2 championships, and 6 all stars, keep in mind this is all excluding bron
This looks like the best team of all time on paper until you realize some of the "great" players mentioned above were actually james jones, joe anthony, old ray allen, old rashard lewis, udonis haslem(who will get his number retired), 39 year old juwan howard who made an all star team 17 years prior, which was the same season that mj came back from playing baseball

The thing with the Lebrun argument is that lebron is facing most of the players in their hall of fame years like curry and OKC not counting harden because of how much better he is now

Those Spurs teams get a bad rap cause they were labeled boring during a low points per game defensive era point in the NBA. I ❤️ed em !!

Don't sleep on 2013 Tony Parker. He was an MVP candidate that year. That was his greatest year by far.

The Bill Russell Celtics are the greatest victims of this.

Cowherd shouldn't disrespect the Jazz like that. In 1997 they had two hall of famers (one ended up winning the regular season MVP award by the way), and an all-star.

In terms of career achievements, TP is clearly better than Derrick Rose, but in terms of peaks, Derrick Rose is clearly better than TP. Who do you consider the most valuable or best overall is up to you.

TP was a MVP candidate after d rose won his. While rose was dealing with his injuries and mental state TP was winning accolades and a championship. Both were gonna be in their primes around 2010-2013 but only one stayed healthy.
