Grim, you're one of the most underrated youtubers ever. I'm just waiting for the day you blow up like you deserve. I always share your videos around. Please keep up the fantastic work
I saw this video on my feed yesterday. In order to get the maximum satisfaction, I replayed the game (took me around 7 hours) before watching the video. Yes, I just spent 7 hours to get in the mood for watching a 20 minute video. That is how good Grim is.
Did I ever tell you that I find everything about you inspiring? You make me feel like my twisted sense of humor and draw to darker themes and disjointed/experimental narratives is actually ok. Not only ok but actually something worth embracing. I'm not being facetious. I seriously adore your content and every time you release a vid it brings me oh so much joy :)
I like how aggressively positive Grimbeard is. My favorite part of every review is when he debunks shitpost negative reviews on steam. He’s good people.
On a shitty day, you've given me a 20 min break with a review of a game I love. You seem to release these videos when I need them the most. Never stop doing your thing Grim.
Grim Beard videos always make me wonder how many other youtube channels are out there that make awesome content but I don't know about them because they don't have the subscribers they deserve.
I thought I had an attention span problem, would skip yt videos after 5 seconds like a lunatic. and yet I find myself binging your content for days. its like a comfort blanket and warm cup of cocoa. every single aspect of your content is perfect. thank you.
Dude, I've been binging your videos and how the hell you don't have like hundreds of thousands of subs by now?? These are great reviews and the dark and self-deprecating humor is really well executed.
Oh! This is progress! You moved on to a new girl named Danielle? Can’t wait for this healthy relationship to blossom. It’s so sweet you write special notes to her. I’m sure she will appreciate it.
I really hope you blow up man, I just really love your style of editing and aesthetics. Not gonna lie your jokes are still hit or miss, but honestly I think it adds to the charm. Really looking forward to all your future projects.
I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for getting me into retro gaming, been watching every single one of your reviews for past two days. Incredible stuff dude, you deserve millions of subscribers dude. Your dark humor is on another level too. Can't wait to see more stuff from you. P.s. your music is amazing.
This was a really good video! I remember watching a friend play through two of the areas and it was certainly interesting to wach. I've been watching a lot of your videos since finding your channel and i hope you continue to produce these interesting and in depth videos and take care of yourself
Hey Grim Beard! i just recently found your channel and i'm checking out your reviews, i think they are well structured, clear and fun! i subscribed to see your next video game projects/reviews. I hope you keep having fun making them! (regardless of self-deprecating humor lol).
Wow. No videos for ages. Then two within the span of two weeks. Nice. I think I'm gonna have to support you on Patreon. Just have to get one of those 'job' things my parents keep on about. Hey, now that Phoenix Wright is on consoles and PC, I'd highly recommend you check them out. I think you'd really like them. They're not exactly old school point and click adventures, but they're not far off.
The best part about having depression is, every time i see one of your videos, the short term memory issues make it seem like its brand new all over again :)
Recently played this with my brother and it has become one of my favorites in the genre! It's very unique and the story was great to follow. Cant recommend it enough
Sanitariummmm, you'll earn something great by all the effort you put into this, GB. It's weird ASMR whispers, pop punk playlists, and your good goddamn work. Soon the internet will be as dead as god but you made it beautiful while it was around.
I love this game, it has a nostalgic value for me, all the while shocking me always. It's so dark, and yet, the ending makes it worth it to replay and revisit, as much as the whole game being so interesting while putting together the pieces.
I wish I could enjoy point and click games like you. All these ones with strange spooky stories that first or third person games wont do. Glad I have your videos to experience these at least :)
I've always meant to play this ever since I was a teenager back in the early 00's and knew a guy on the Gamefaqs planescape torment board who said it was his favorite game, with Planescape Torment being their second favorite and Deus Ex their third. With company like that I was always intrigued.
Man I love all of this so much. I love your music, love the reviews, love that you talk about games I haven’t heard of in so long. Do you plan on doing livestreams as well?
Love this game. You got the Silent Hill vibe, too? When I first heard the guy I was like "I see somebody went to the Harry Mason School Of Voice Acting". Glad it's not just me.
New diary entry! There is goodness in the world!Even better, as I write this your subscriber count's last three digits are 1-8-7. That's just too perfect. Ia Grim Beard.
Just want to say. Almost every night I put on your review playlist on shuffle and have some of the best sleep. Thanks grim I like to gain knowledge on obscure video games subconsciously
I am a big Sanitarium fan :) played it first when I was 12 and replayed it a few times over the years - as such every now and then I am browsing for rewiews and playthroughs simply out of nostalgia and always - I end up here :) I dont know what is it exactly - but htis is the best, funiest, most accurate and honest review out there - at least in my opinion :) Its personal spontanious and real - I love it :) Keep up the great work your doing friend :)
I unlocked a vivid memory of going to EB games as a kid and seeing a copy of this when picking up a copy of Megaman X for PC, and wondering what it was.. thanks for the trip down memory lane!
Also man having just watched the review in full I hope everything goes well for you my man, life is a bitch and throws curveballs your way but on the other side, most of the time at least, is a better result
Would be nice to eventually see "Pathologic 2" (23 of May, this year, is the release date for it), "Shadow of Destiny" (2001?) and "Oknytt" (2013?). Also maybe "Kiss: Psycho Circus: The Nightmare Child" which is an FPS published by already covered here multiple times "Gathering of Developers"? Or "Realms of the Haunting" which is also an FPS? Not expecting these two, to be completely honest, mostly because of genre differences. Thanks for enjoyable and informative content. I love your goofy one-liners and want you to live a happy life.
While I was playing the game, just finished it, I was thinking 'hmm, this is like Limbo of the Lost' and then the music stiked me at the end, I laghed so hard! Great game! This review actually made me buy and play it, because you said Grim Fandango in the beggining, so, as any sane person, I stoped the video, bought the game, played it and then I came back to watch the review.
Came over her from Mandalore, I like the cut of your jib. I was watching this video and a pal spoke up on mic. I wasn't sure if it was an audio element you added to screw with me or if it was reality, that was fun.
Really love the stellar reviews on games lost but not forgotten. One thing though, I loved the ridiculous voice acting. The whole time hes in a daze, things dont make sense in the mostly cartoonish landscapes, its unsettling and honestly, i know it probably wasnt intentional, but the ending really tied and solidified that dread of that potentially never ending nightmare
Grim: "I'm afraid of a lot of things that the vast majority of people have seemingly no problem with, like..." Me: "At last. This is where he confirms my suspicion that he has social anxiety, thus explaining why I relate to his sense of humour and vibe with his videos on so many levels." Grim: "...social interactions..." Me: "I KNEW IT!"
This game went so deeply under my skin that 15 years after beating it I became the embodiment of Olmec for at least a week during one of my manic episodes. Of course, I was telling everyone that my name was Quetzalcoatl, 'cos who the fuck knows Olmec. Also, as you said about Silent Hill, I found the game heartbreaking to the max. Well, you didn't say "to the max", I don't even know why I said it. Anyway, these goddamn crippled children, I can easily make myself cry just by thinking about them.
2:05 There's a video called "Everyone's Upstairs Neighbors" on a channel called "Above Average" that you might enjoy. It's very relatable. It's about loud neighbors.
I absolutely loved this game when it came out. I have to admit, I finished it once and never played it again, so my opinion is a bit dated, but at the time it all felt like deep psychological shit with a lot of Lynchian brainfucky stuff in the mix. Thick atmosphere and it felt much more clever and artsy than classic straight horror games of the time (like Phantasmagoria or Resident Evil). BTW, Grimbeard, have you played Tormentum: Dark Sorrow? If not, you should totally check it out, if only because of very nice art (also, apart from great art, it's a good little horror-ish adventure game and certainly quite grim. I think, you might like it).
Ah, yes... Sanitarium! The game I will forever describe as "The best game I should not have played when I was 7 years old." I attribute a fair number of my mental deviancies to this game alone. 10/10
Sorry to double comment but I really like Stop, Stop He's Already Dead. I saw you did some newer music but found the lyrics and vocals weren't as cohesive with the music, even if your intrumentals technique has definitely improved. Also don't stop that, even if it goes in a direction I personally don't enjoy as much. You're super freaking talented and I hope you work through your personal issues dude. Life's a bitch.
What a wonderful distraction from what would otherwise be my life!
That's ths spirit!
Oh snap!
ahaha..."
Grim couldn’t have said it any better
Ooo edgy

Me too bro. Me too. I don't remember how I found this channel, but once I did....it was binged with reckless abandon. Then Patronized.
@@WayneBristol same, so glad I was lucky enough to find it. Too damn good

I couldn't agree more my friend absolutely in the top 3 parts of the show at the very least
On a shitty day, you've given me a 20 min break with a review of a game I love. You seem to release these videos when I need them the most. Never stop doing your thing Grim.
Yeah that Max’s one liner got me good, I actually laughed, and that doesn’t happen often.
Grim Beard videos always make me wonder how many other youtube channels are out there that make awesome content but I don't know about them because they don't have the subscribers they deserve.
Noah Caldwell-Gervais. Very analytical and super interesting.
@@remimaloney2028 Not really.

I love this channel, it will explode in subs sooner or later, keep at it dude
Thanks :)
I remember looking at the box for this at best buy when I was growing up. Still looks great

Watching a Grim Beard review after playing through the game is like a nice glass of wine after a fine meal.

17:06 never heard this as an instrumental but Lambchop's cover + the original bop hard
Slathered in a Grim Beard video with my eyes closed. That’s my safe space.
This game is awesome. The voice acting, theme, art style, etc... It still holds up today!
I stumbled across your videos recently through your Alice vid and I absolutely love them. Your humor and tastes are top notch
Thanks a lot :)
You have good reviews, If you keep at this your fan base will surely grow.

Just came across you. Probably the best reviewer on RUclips. Fuck it, probably my favourite RUclipsr in general!
