I'm just curious what defines a sell out. If someone is successful companies leverage their influence to market their wares to an appropriate audience... that's capitalism. You can't really hate the player when it's the game that's responsible. I don't follow him so I can't speak to him specifically but I don't think success is selling out.

I'm in my 60s and my dad's been gone for 4 years now. My memories of fishing with him and my younger brother (also passed away) are some of my most cherished. You're doing a fantastic job with your kids Rod!

1. I love that boat! I've been boating all my life, had many styles over the years (even the pontoon boat period with little kids and dogs) but you have a great fishing boat that you can manage alone if need be. Built like a tank, handles heavy water really well. It lands soft coming down off a big wave. Very well thought out interior too. I'm an old tiller steer man myself but I sure like my steering wheel and windshield now. 🙂
2. It's currently 1:35 am here in Colorado. My grandson won't fall asleep so I put up this vid, I'm trying to plant that seed of adventure and fishing in hopes it will grow. He loved it! Because your son was in it, he had someone to relate to. And I always respect you keep your vids family friendly, and the narration friendly. Didn't make him sleepy ether, lol.

@@rokkitkit oh gotcha. Yea man that bleaching was sad to see. I could really feel your frustration. I thought that it was a known issue that reefs are dying, but then again you see and experience it more than I do. I can only rely on what the scientific consensus is regarding the oceans warming.
@@wadeflores6978I think if you have a treasured spot that very few people visit, it is kinda visceral. It’s different from the abstract concept of bleaching happens, especially when it’s so sudden and so complete!
only complaint i have id theres not many island camp n cooks recently 😂 i wish i coukd do this for fun but my wifes not ok with me not coming home each night 😢😢
@@sand2sea That's the same problem I am facing mate. I have been pushing her to come out on the boat more in hopes to get her to do some island camping in the future or at the least to let me do so. All the training I received in service still does not trump my wife's thoughts on my safe being when I go out to sea 😅

this is your channel if you want to speak out on something thats important to you then do it, if you want to promote something then you promote it, us loyal veiwers wont hold it against you because like i said this is your channel your life and your journey and we as viewers watch you because we enjoy watching what you create, the fish you catch, the adventures you go on.
I watched the last video and i could see the emotion i could see that you cared and as fisherman we should care, this is what we love, we love the fish we love the ocean and when you see these devistating events (whether natural or not) it is upsetting its only natural to want to talk about it and want to show it, i dont believe you were political about it or you had an agenda to show it.
As an Australian it is your right to say what you want when you want to and as a loyal viewer even if i dont agree with something you say im still going to keep watching, keep being you Rod, keep making the content you enjoy and im right when i say that the majority of your loyal viewers will keep watching regardless.

I always thought my favourite episodes were your solo camping trips to the islands with a bit of camping, diving, fishing, cooking, "survivaling", BUT...this was such a great episode, bringing back many memories and feelings of my dad taking me fishing, teaching me to fish, and getting me involved in cooking all things seafood. I think this is 1 of my favourites...would love to see more of Fox sharing your love of fishing & feeding the Family! The picnic on the beach with Fish Tacos....♥🤌♥

Personally I think you should ignore the haters, and promote what you want to promote....for friends, for amazing products or for sponsors who are supporting your channel! Love it, and please do keep highlighting the folks you work with. It's a business as well as entertainment and you balance the two welll. I grew up fishing with my dad, and in recent years have gotten back out with him (in his mid 80's) a few times. An absolute epic failure turned into one of our favourite memories. More family content is always nice - love to see a remote campout with kiddo.......

Couple things man, yall have Trader Joe’s, I gotta drive 2 hours to get to one but i like that green dragon sauce. Young man really learned a lot about fishing that day how you can go from really excited highs to depths of despair in a split second of the line going slack! Course he knocked it out the park in the end with a monster feed for the fam. Selling out? Your supporting local crew friends, community of fishing folks? Can’t understand folks not getting behind locals. But not to be negative I always say that mess is just static noise pay it no attention.
