You almost convinced me to sell everything and island hop back in 2020. Then I remembered I'm terrified of big water, and I get extremely motion sick when I can't see land. Keep living the dream, cheers from the US!
Exactly. To be honest, I’d rather give him a couple grand to camp out on a few islands for a week and fish every day than stay at a 5 ⭐️ hotel for a week.
One of my everlasting memories of working in Sydney for six months 30 years ago is the amazing love that went in to making sandwhiches which i would buy every lunch. Still to this day i try and compare my lunch to that Chatsworth deli and always fail. You guys know how to do a sandwhich and i doft my hat. What a fish!!!! Epic Rod!! Love it dude, Ringo
Ya out done yourself on this one Rod, that sandwich looks amazing! Great fish as well and looks like a wonderful afternoon with the wife, cheers for sharing!
Enough tuna for a month!! I have always love that you only take what you need for your family, mate, epic vid!! Can't wait to see thee insight into aging fish extraordinary🦈
Great reality footage. Objective vids like this is the very foundation of not only saving lives, but giving training to new boaters in the future. Show the real truth and it becomes a library of how things go right...and wrong. Every man is a potential father. Well done.
Honestly love your videos from the coast of southern California! When i was a teenage idiot, we used to run out off shore in a 14' riveted aluminum skiff.. Came close to dying once or twice, but the Tuna found the gaff. Its about the adventure and you my friend definitely bring that ! Living life 🤙
Epic catch Rod just an awesome video. That's gonna make for some tasty dishes for your family. Anyways take care and have a blessed day. Aloha from Kansas
I love these fishing uploads on Fridays, the best harbinger of my weekend! It’s wild to remember that July is Australia’s cold season, it’s a gorgeous hot day (for us at least) of 80 degrees, cheers from WA state 🎣🎣🎣
That Tuna would probably cost hundreds or thousands of dollars on the market. Heck, the cat probably just ate 13-14$ worth. 😸That’s great if you have the will that you can go out and catch your own.
Hi there, thank you for your quick reply. I watch all of your videos. Almost every free time I have would be spent on watching one of your very interesting videos. I am very unhappy that not millions of people watch every single one of your videos. And me being me, I try to understand why not as many people as I expect watching your great videos. In that video, I think maybe if it was a dish with raw fish and a few other small changes in detail, then many more people would have viewed it. This is just my opinion. I again appreciate your efforts and hard work in making all of your very interesting videos. Thank you, and keep up the good work, mate. 👍🏼
Hi Rod RoKKIT, i`m just on the beginning of your video and i am very excited to watch your adventures explorings on the ocean ... wonderful and Thanks !! 💙👍✌
Good to see the variety of species on the bait grounds. I know that area can get smashed during the QLD demersal and pelagic closed seasons, but it seems like its handling the pressure and producing cracking fish like this one which speaks to our fisheries management as well. Keep it up bro 🤙🤙
Great video! Have been watching a while and you helped inspire me to finally start my channel. Your fishery is so amazing! Loved your collab with Taku! Your catch and cooks are awesome! I’m hungry now!
You out-fancied yourself with the salad. You don't have to be Taku. Just be you. Little ginger, little chili, squeeze of lime. I usually crush olives with the side of my knife. The pits pop right out.
Hey Rod I've been watching you for years mate. Love your style. I've also been dry aging Long-tails a few years now. Learned a few tricks if you'd like hit me up. Definitely need to cut the blood line and skin so it's a clean loin then start the dry age. Umami comes after 7 days on a fish that big but just cut the thick part of the loin out for the dry age. You want to get the big vein out up the front of the loin too. Where you bleed em from... I could carry on but...
Holy man rod! That is one hell of a tunafish sandwich maby a softer bread would have helped it blowing apart a little bit lol great video friend can't wait for the next one
Great episode I love the respect you show towards the fish you catch. I started laughing though when you apologized to the barracuda/pike for dropping him on the deck before putting it in the live well since we all know whats in store for that fish.
Hi Rod, Love watching your videos! Would love to see more of how you setup your rigs to catch fish. Side note it's best not to drink hot water direct from the tap. Seen you do this is a few videos. Hot water systems can contain trace metals like copper, iron, lead and zinc which is not healthy for you. It's better to use cold water even if it takes a little longer to prepare a meal. Look forward to seeing you catch more fish!
Good Tuna ! Loving the insta360 footage I also use one and know how hard it is to get good quality footage when you are a lone fisherman. Well done👍. We sear our Tuna for 30 seconds each side then rest it under tin foil for 5 minutes.
Great video...always like watching the Stabi in action out on the ocean. Maybe you could talk just a bit about the rod, reel, and line you're using to tackle the bigger fish 👍🤟 That cook-up had my mouth watering ! Nicely done mate.
Yooo, frikkin amazing winter catch! Great to see after struggling to get any decent bait that something special was just around the corner. Also, amazing meal. I've gotta try that with a smoked kahawai. Pro tip for the stone in olives, squash them with the flat of your blade, and then you can sort of pop the stone out with your fingers. 🤙🎣🥗
2 vids in an row - with monsters at that! Man, you might have to teach “Angling Aerobics” classes, and adopt an Austrian accent: _”I’m Rod - and I want to Paamp U 🫵🏻 Up. You catching fish with me - no time for girlie-man antics.”_ 😂😂
Stepping up your kitchen game Rod! Love to see it. Amazing. Probably too late once the vid has dropped, but as discussed prior you should try to preserve some of your tuna under oil sometime. ‘Canning’ (with pressure) or ‘water bath’ methods would both be fine. Amazing catch, awesome content as usual. Feeling the north coast envy from Victoria😂
I already knew Rod was a man of great taste, but then I hear the Final Fantasy victory theme when his alarm goes off. What a legend!
I was looking for this comment, absolute legend
Instantly got excited when I heard it lol
It's funny how certain people are drawn together that have similar tastes no matter how far apart the tastes are.
Agree. And I will always say final fantasy 10 is the best.
I knew this comment was going to be here lol.
Wow! "The Old Man And The Sea," starring Geraldo Rivera! Epic fight and great catch and recipe idea. wonderful!
You almost convinced me to sell everything and island hop back in 2020. Then I remembered I'm terrified of big water, and I get extremely motion sick when I can't see land. Keep living the dream, cheers from the US!
All it took was seeing that Great White swimming by the boat/yak last video. I'm out! Lol
@@desertfairychickres4021100% that was scary
Kg
Do you never use cut bait
I’m on holiday in a 5* hotel bed thinking I’d still rather be on a boat with Rod catching tuna!
Exactly. To be honest, I’d rather give him a couple grand to camp out on a few islands for a week and fish every day than stay at a 5 ⭐️ hotel for a week.
Amen. Table for two please.
So true. Those that court the 5* hotels are also typically not well suited for a overnight on the deck of a fiberglass boat! Cheers!

Wonderful to see you and your wife eating the bounty of the sea together! Say your prayers, the Lord has blessed you. :)
🙏🏼🙌🏼🤙🏼

Don't take this the wrong way, but your videos are great to fall asleep to. So soothing.
The moment that my cat waits patiently and gets its share is tremendously peaceful. It's nice to feel that right now. 😺 32:28
Epic catch Rod just an awesome video. That's gonna make for some tasty dishes for your family. Anyways take care and have a blessed day. Aloha from Kansas
That sandwich looked amazing! Excellent fish man! Great vid as always!
You know how to live man. No amount of money can buy something better than some fishing, diving, loved ones, and fresh food. Good for you.
Banger fish...Banger sandwich...another epic video! Thanks for the super chill and awesome catch and cook on a Friday night
Your videos inspired me to get my own boat. Heading out into Canada's Georgian Bay for some solo camping and fishing tomorrow morning!
These last 2 vids were very enjoyable, love seeing the battle of these heavyweight tuna!
Pro fisherman and culinary expert! Great video!
Good to see the cat 🐈 didnt miss out ...sitting patiently by his bowl, waiting , anticipating 😊
Small fish: buddy
Big fish: dinner
Congrats on the fine long tail Rod! That sandwich looks amazing!!!
The last one was a big one. Can't imagine what an upgrade looks like. Keen to watch!
Good to see you back! You remind me of Charles Bronson😀 cheers mate🎣🍻✌️
Good to see the channel growing subswise Rod. Be hitting the 500k mark in no time thanks to your excellent content on show again with this vid 😊.
Cheers mate, yea slowly getting there 👌
What a great channel to discover. Fantastically set up boat, good cooking skills and a great personality
Hanapaa!! Action at it's Best!!
Love the Penn ratchet sound. Nice tight line.
Amazing how loud the highway is in the distance even that early. The fish halved in the fridge hung up was hilarious. Hannibal vibe. Cat cuts lol.

Lucky you, it’s cold as fuck here in Australia!
108° here. Brutal
That fish looked great, but the prepared looked better. Cheers !!
Awesome catch bro! And that sandwich looked unreal 😂🤙
Great episode mate, your boat getting through the bar as easy as it did was impressive .Really liked how you prepared that tuna too 😊
Looks like he's lovin that boat more each time he takes it out.
Looks absolutely delicious, Tuna Niçoise sandwiches are one of my favorites.
I've never heard of it before, but it looks fantastic! 😋 must try

@@edtomorrowsometimes having the will is well worth it🤙
Awesome video Rod, and awesome fish. Maybe swap the cooler out for a fish bag so you can get the whole fish on ice A.S.A.P.
nice boat, great catch, delicious fish, couldn't ask for more
More vids with your Family appreciating 🌊🐟🐟😋😋

Dude everything in these vids look amazing and the food looks healthy and fresh every time the only tuna ive ever delt with is canned
Hi Rod, over here in the UK, if we don't want our eggshells to split, we add vinegar to the water. Thanks for sharing this with us.
The sandwich looked amazing
Nice to see ya on the water rod. Hope you and your family are well👍🏻
wow wow wow, mouth watering! Epic fight that ends with an epic sandwich!
Your camera work and just all around video content is amazing. Keep up the good work!
