Andy Stumpf and Mike Sarraille explain that good SEALs don't always make good fighters in MMA or hand to hand situations and are independent traits. Some SEALs who don't train in fight sports may be outstanding SEALs and good MMA fighters may be horrible SEALs.
An example of this is Dr. Jonny Kim, a NASA astronaut who Sarraille personally witnessed and attests as being exceptional on the battlefield in Ramadi, Iraq 2006 as a Navy SEAL medic and sniper. He is one of the most humble men Mike Sarraille has ever met. Mike has 20 years of experience in the US military as an enlisted Force Recon Marine then a Tier 1 and 2 Navy SEAL officer who retired as a Lieutenant Commander in Naval Special Warfare Development Group.
He expressed his excitement for Joe Rogan to invite him on, who said he would love to have Jonny on JRE. Jonny Kim lives in Houston, Texas, the same state that Joe Rogan films his podcasts.

JK was recently temporarily stationed in my town for flight training and he trained at our gym for BJJ. Exceptional dude.
@@SS-xm7di I don’t know how long he has been training, I believe he’s a purple belt. He trained with Jocko Willink for a while I know. Our gym is affiliated with Helio “Soneca” Moreira, via the Gracie Barra/Carlos Jr. lineage. JK has since been relocated to his next duty station in his pilot training. As far as I know he’s still supposed to be in line for a 2024 moon landing mission.

@@user-jk5um1om8l One of those people who has learned how to maximize his time at a professional level. I earned my bachelor degree while working full time, weight training 3-4 times per week, BJJ 2-3 times per week, and still finding time for family. I thought that was a lot. JK basically did all that plus flight training, astronaut training, and going around doing podcasts and interviews. He must live a 40 hour day and a 10 day week because I don’t know how else to get it done.
Johnny kim is like all of Rogan's guests rolled into one in terms of expertise. A mathematician, doctor, navy seal, astronaut? That doesn't even feel right just typing it.

slight mod: he became a naval lt. commander during astronaut training. military astronauts are still considered active duty. he became a naval lt. post medical school. all navy doctors are Lt (03s) starting out. I'm pretty sure he will make at least Cmdr before all this is over. dunno if he'll make 06 like you, but people have to retire at some point right? even johnny kim! I can't imagine him going back to the fleet after all this, and I don't think he can go back to Naval Special Warefare at this point. I hope to God he doesn't get pushed into politics. He's too good. But what do you do after all this? That's the question. he just has so many skills. SEAL Sniper/18D, doctor, naval aviator, astronaut. What does someone like that do once they hang up their uniform for the last time?

Hope Jonny does a Rogan Interview but doubt it. I remember before the Jocko interview, everyone wanted Jonny to do that interview but he was so busy (doing his Astronaut training). He finally did it bc if his close relationship with Jacko.

I'm a huge, lifelong comic book fan and an aspiring comic book writer and artist and Dr. Kim is actually the inspiration for an Asian Superman-like Super Hero named ''Astro-Man'' who is going to be one of the supporting characters in an independent Super Hero graphic novel/ comic book that I've got planned( and Astro-Man's background will be that he's a scientist, soldier and astronaut for NASA.
