This video should be an automatic response to anyone who keeps saying that Max is too young or has trouble managing his anger. I mean look at him (not just in this video): I see a balanced man who knows exactly his priorities. Races are a lot for him, but he also has other things in life and he can appreciate them. He can talk about his opponents with respect (and it sounds really honest, not fake like many others.), but without fear. He does not make ironic remarks about his opponents, he does not play mind games. For me, these are qualities of a true champion.
Is it just me or did this video make me see him in another light, like almost as if the media makes him out to be this angry horrid person but here its clear that he is such a calm and truly nice person
This is why it's important to not be part of a group think.
@@taylordv853 you have to watch him away from the track to see that it is the media's narrative that you see and not who Max truly is. He isn't fake, and he is a very well rounded person. I like that he doesn't feed into BS, and also doesn't beat around the bush and play into narratives. He doesn't give a shit what other people think, and that's a great way to be.

You might want to watch the recent F1 channel video about how is it to put on a racing helmet. Every single driver mentions that it changes everything. A driver might be a super nice person, but when the helmet is on and the visor is down, there goes completely different mindset.
You don’t become a winner when your nice, you have to be ruthless and agressieve, Max and Lewis are like that but so are other drivers. I just think younger drivers are more edgy than the older drivers, but the older drivers where like that as well that’s what made them to what they are.
Nice to see this. Channel 4 gives non-british drivers a real chance to show who they really are. I always remember the interview with Max when he was going babysitting. Great!

Well said. Some people don't really understand the Verstappen fanfare which I suppose is fair enough.
But that growth is exactly why I am a Verstappen supporter. I was admittedly rooting for him from the start... I just thought it was awesome that a 17 year old got to drive a formula 1 car. I wasn't really surprised when he screwed up; he was a teenager. But I agree, he really has refined his ability and matured since then, to the point that now he's just a great athlete in his own right. Him being not only the youngest driver to ever compete, but also the guy who beat Lewis and Mercedes would be amazing to see. And I honestly think it would be the best possible ending for this era of F1 before the reg changes... it would set a great precedent for the sport in general going into 2022. Hope this one happens!
This interview was before Silverstone and Hungary. Don't know if we would have sense the same things on the same interview today
@@pierrefupon5252 I think he handled Hungary and Silverstone fairly well. Most of his anger was justifiable and the moments where it wasn’t (they exist), well I think he would have handled those situations much much worse had it been in 2018-2019.

I like the trend of not making videos appear perfect. By that I mean when they show the process the people went to before and after the cameras came on. They don’t just present the show but show us how it was presented in the process. Nice work

He really is level headed. I know people chastise him sometimes when he’s voices anger, but he has people coming at home day in and day out. Especially after the crash at Silverstone. I personally commend him for shutting down the questions about it. They relentlessly asked the same questions .

Championships are decided as they are. You can't say "shouldnt be decided this way" because then thats most championships thats ever happened. Bad luck WILL happen to you its all about how u recover. Thats just motoracing

Max driving half the car to finish line with points in a 72 lap Hungary race is a champion level racing.

I love how they filmed the interviewer getting his hair done and also how the one cameraman filmed the other cameraman filming the interview. That's what I was hoping to see when I clicked on this video, not the actual interview.

It's cool seeing max turn from a cocky kid, to someone who is confident. Two entirely different things. He's grown a lot, and carries himself as someone beyond his years.

Very interesting this interview with Max, allows us to see not only a F1 pilot, but also a person that is still young and very mature for his age, very interesting his view about everything in F1 and also out of it. His pets and other things. Very nice interview.
The best about Max is his Dutch approach with everything he does, basically. It is what it is. Nothing more, Nothing less. Not to mention the fact how amazing it is to see his driving skills on the weekends. It's incredible. With Lewis, there is always some kind of weird magical story when he's answering questions and he definitely can't take the heat when it comes down to it. Just like in Hungary with Alonso.
Really hope Max wins the championship. His consistent improvement over the years, definitely deserves the highest reward at this stage.

He did it to himself. Lewis was always going to fight hard, he had nothing to lose and its his home crowd. A more competent driver would know with a 32 point lead you pick the right battles. Finishing second is a lot better than in the fence.

I really like Max, he seems like a great guy. I've been a Lewis fan, but I'm glad Max will be around for a long time to come in F1. And Lando like he said, I think Lando will be batting max in the next few years.

I am wishing Max the best to become Champion this year. I fear that Mercedes will use Bottas as a Hitman if you will, to ensure a Mercedes victory. Max is very mature and professional, and it bewilders me that the latest incidents are coming from so-called professional drivers in F1. Max is very humble, and the Red Bull Team has had Mercedes on the back foot where only crashes and idiot maneuvers have made it so, it goes Mercedes way. Hopefully Perez and join the fight as Max's wingman instead of getting caught with the mid-fielders.

Although RedBull has made much progress in the last couple years. Hell even Senna and Prost had their moments, but the last couple races.. Veteran Merc Drivers have made idiot mistakes.

To ask who he wants as a teammate was a lil bit pushing it. Of course a driver like him will or may have a say on choices but he just got a partner this year! So allow the team to develop and build on the strategies and strengths of each as a combo. I have no doubt that this season will turn into great things for Red Bull but next year will be a ton better if they stick together!
I mean, Alonso did have around 40 points advantage before the Belgium GP 2012 and Vettel won, so I don't know what the guy was talking about.
