going back and rewatching these years later is a huge hit of nostalgia for me, id watch these thru-the-ages videos for hours sometimes when i was a kid
Me too man! I played them all along. It’s thanks to these I love Queen now haha. But I remember being in 3rd grade watching these, I got into doctor who when I was 4. Now I’m about to graduate highschool

The Tenth Planet design is by far the creepiest
I loved seeing them in the series 10 finale. My only issues are that
A. They can fly, which not only makes the Cybermen less like human converts and more like Iron Man, but it defeats the purpose of them being early Cybermen. Same with the headlamp lasers and the shock powers.
B. They lose some of their creepiest features. The voices are perfect. But the OG Cybermen had *completely human hands*. Not gloves. And the mouths don’t open and shut like they did.
C. They are immediately outclassed and overshadowed by the modern Cybermen. After the initial reveal/cliffhanger and the Doctor escaping them, they just turn into the new models. I get that it’s less expensive to use already existing suits instead of creating entirely new costumes for an entire army, but it could’ve been done. It’s as if they were only there for hype and shock value.

Cameron Monaghan Some of the videos I do include the spin offs (Sontaran Through the Ages has a lot of copyright issues right now though) and if I have time Slitheen Through The Ages included spin offs too. I'm not sure about Torchwood but if it's a popular idea then why not :)

You missed Hell Bent, there was a cyberman there entangled in the wires at The Cloisters.
Matty Grimes for the moment it is not included for the same reason that Carnival of Monsters isn't, mainly that it is a very small appearance in a story not strictly about the Cybermen. That's not to say it won't be in a future video though :)

Why can’t the daleks go through water,I’ve herd that daleks hate water,but maybe in series 12 the paradigm daleks chould gain this ability.
The Daleks can travel through water, they do so in The Dalek Invasion of Earth.
Unit through the ages is still being worked on though I have lost one of my sources for video clips. An update of Daleks through the ages is on the horizon, with extra info added, just like with this cybermen update. Also the Master through the ages. And Ice Warriors, though I am thinking of replacing the music with Life on Mars? by David Bowie.

I always thought the Cybermen looked ridiculous. Star Trek introduced the Borg which looked much more realistic and terrifying.
I agree here. I was looking up a Trek/Cybermen crossover and they had Cybermen defeating Borg. I just can’t see it.
I mean I love Who and loved Trek but I know that Borg would win (well they would have until Voyager nerfed them).
Though I’m sure there’s races in Who that would beat races in Trek. I’d love to see a Sontaran story in Trek.
A hilarious one is the Shakespearian Krillitains vs The Enterprise (Picard eras) with Klingons added (apparently Klingons liked Shakespeare).
The Borg are just pure overkill in costume design.
The Cybermen are much better, simpler in design,
And truly look more cybernetic than the Borg.
The metallic look of the cybermen looks much more like proper cybermen!

Some day NuWho will do a decent Cyberman story. So far none of the NuWho stories have come even close to what Classic Who did with them. Like the Daleks they've been sorely misused and become something of a joke.
JW G I feel that World Enough And Time used them very well, though they were somewhat overshadowed by the Master, and The Doctor Falls didn't use them nearly enough. IMO we need more scenes of cybermen taking amongst themselves, plotting or doing things, which the classic series had a lot of. I also have a soft spot for Rise of the Cybermen. My top three (in any order) have to be The Invasion, The Wheel In Space and Spare Parts, though.
kaledmasterme Big Finish has done some great Cybermen stories, Spare Parts being chief among them, though I also particularly like The Silver Turk, The Harvest (the story that introduced Hex), and The Reaping (the audio where Claudia Christianson played Peri's mother).

I don’t want to sound picky, but there are some silly and unnecessary spelling mistakes in this well informed vid.
Oh yeah, not to sure about the backing music either as good as it is.
Spelling mistakes?! 😱 😱 😱 Point them out to me and they shall be eradicated! (I usually pride myself on spelling though in a video as long as this some do slip through)
chezzer58 also the backing music is largely the original lab356 backing music with additions where the video overtook the old version.
You spell the word apperance. Should be spelt, appearance. The word you spelt as antannae should be spelt antenna. Strangely enough you spell the word appearance correctly later on in your excellent vid. Keep posting.

@@ExplodingCreeper69 I'm not making videos right now because my UNIT video was copyright strikes 13 times and to be honest RUclips has become a very hostile place for creators. It used to be fun. Maybe one day I'll do an update but I'm busy with uni work as well lately. If you want to see the video about UNIT look up my Facebook page :)
