- Carmelo Anthony entered the 2003 NBA draft as third overall pick by the Denver Nuggets. While playing for Denver, he led the Nuggets to the playoffs every year from 2004 to 2010. In 2011, he was traded from Denver to the New York Knicks. He was traded to the Thunder, where he played one season before a short stint with the Houston Rockets. He spent two seasons with the Blazers prior to joining the Lakers.

Melo’s pride is what got in his way. For nearly his entire career he wanted to do things his way instead of doing what was best for the team. He unwilling to let other players take the last shot. He was unwilling to compromise his own game for Mike D’Antoni’s system (one of the greatest coaches of all time). Even as he got old, he was unwilling to consider taking a bench role in OKC. It took being not wanted by any team in the league for an entire season for him to wake up.
Well at least now, he has accepted his role
It’s still funny to think that instead of waiting until waiting to sign him in the offseason. The Knicks were impatient and went out and traded many valuable assets during the midseason instead.
The outcome, only 3 playoffs appearances from 2011-2013 and 2 first round exits.

Melo wanted to sign the supermax with the knicks. He got more money after he was traded there instead of signing there in FA
Just can’t believe how two years ago, Melo was out in the NBA and no other team would want to sign him. He still has a lot left in his game despite his age. He can shoot the ball and sometimes make good defence. I’m glad Melo has accept a bench role because his whole career he has started every single game. His game got better as a role player in Trail Blazers and now the Lakers. I want Melo to win a ring before he retires so that he has a championship in his resume.

Poor Melo, he didn't get a ring because the Detroit Pistons chose Darko Miličić in the second order of the NBA Draft pick, whereas Detroit will bust later on choosing Darko Miličić Because he is absolutely nothing, but in my opinion Melo is the best in the third draft pick The NBA is like Michael Jordan, unfortunately he dropped when he entered the OKC Thunder, even his Play Off journey was only the first round.😥

Mellow worked so good in a OKC jersey playing alongside Paul George and Westbrook and I honestly thought that they were going to go deep into the playoffs and not necessarily win at all the first year but maybe a year or two after when they have their chemistry down but unfortunately they decided to split things up much earlier. In OKC and Houston as well they took a player that was used to being the number one star option and made him into a third option catch and shoot player which is honestly why his production decreased so much from 20+ points to only around 16. But I think him being out of the league for a year after Houston waived him was good for him because it helped him break through the mental block in his mind and allowed him to adjust to whatever place style necessary rather than him doing his own thing. I honestly hope he gets picked up by a title contending team and is able to win a ring because honestly him not getting a ring is the one thing left off of his career résumé that would cement him in greatness imo
