Lay had a photoshoot with them and also shoot some part for the MV. If you watch the interview of him on the MV documentary Lay was being interviewed at the place (the circle one) where EXO members danced the second chorus. But he didn't learn the choreography

@@vanessa-xq5eq lay is a youth ambassador of his hometown in china so basically he's in the politics too. so it's hard for him to promote with exo since sk and china are not in the good terms.
@@vanessa-xq5eq Do you know the THAAD issue happening between Korea and China? If not, you can search about it. If you ask about other Chinese celebrities in S. Korea, they ALL are effected by it. But they are not as HUGELY popular in China as Lay is. So they are not as hugely affected as Lay is. Lay's case needs exta caution cause he is a household known face in China, a Youth ambassador in China, which means he is involved in politics, making him more vulnerable to the issue.
@@vanessa-xq5eq Actually, how many wayV members are from mainland China? (its much stricter for ppl from the mainland). Plus there is a reason why technically WayV is not a member of NCT and has to have its own production company, fanlight, never performs in Korea, and has 0 Korean members. It is so they CAN perform in China. For WayV the ban mostly affects Kun, WinWin, and Xiao Jun . Since they are mainland china members (this is why Lucas doesn't have issues with SuperM he is from Hong Kong). If you notice WinWin disappeared from the NCT lineup when all the issues started. Things are starting to lighten up on the ban now though, which is probably the only reason NCT 2020 is happening.

As with everything that EXO, does, the MV for "Electric Kiss" is telling another part of EXO's story. So everything you see in the MV is strategically done to give fans more clues to another piece of EXO's story. Absolutely. everything EXO does is connected and SM never loses sight of that, even when they release a Japanese album or single- -"Electric Kiss" is a Japanese song. Nothing in this MV was random or done without a specific purpose and it's all meant to connect to everything they have done so far and anything to come in the future, across all languages and countries.
Although I don't really understand most of what is happening in their "Electric Kiss" MV, I think what it is showing us is EXO traveling between space and time and across dimensions. When you pair the MV with each of the member's individual pre-release teaser clips, it is thought that "Electric Kiss" is showing EXO -- or maybe now that we know about X-EXO from their "Obsession" MV, maybe it's X-EXO -- as they have fully realized their full power potential. That's why you see Chanyeol create the explosion -- he no longer has the gentle little flame that we see in "Mama" or the spark that we see in "Ko Ko Bop," for instance -- his power is now fueled by anger or a need to eliminate someone or something, etc.
You also see D.O. in that room full of film reels. If you remember in "Monster" and "Lotto", D.O. is the one who is filming everything that is happening and it is through that it's his videotape that Chanyeol gives to the girl at the end of "Lotto." So in "Electric Kiss" it's almost as if the films are the collection of videos that D.O. has been accumulating. However, I am not really sure if they are intended as evidence to be used against the Red Force or if the videos are supposed to be used for blackmail or if they are part of the Red Forces plan for control, etc. I'm also not really sure whether D.O. is the good and pure EXO member or if he is an X-EXO member under the control of the Red Force, etc. In "Tempo" we see the members in the movie theater and Suho is trying to prevent the members from seeing whatever is on the movie screen and we see what is thought to be the Red Force using video images of the forest to try and trick Suho into forgetting that he is trapped in the maze in "For Life," etc.
However, in "Electric Kiss" Xiumin is the one that is filming with the video camera this time, and it is almost as if he is using it as he plays the lookout for the other members. You see Xiumin use the video camera to see Sehun who is in the building across from him and you see him watching Baekhyun who is in the parking lot area between the buildings, etc.
Some theories even say that "Electric Kiss" is showing us the members teaming up. For instance, you see Baekhyun with his power of light seem to combine his power with Sehun's wind power which you see depicted with the tornado and Chen's power of thunder and lighting with the lighting storm ragging in the background.
For a long time a lot of theories have thought that Suho is the one character who is unable to choose sides and that is why we see him always trying to save or rescue the members regardless of whether they are being controlled by the Red Force or not. And this is thought to also be shown to be the case in "Electric Kiss." Suho cannot choose a side, in fact he refuses to. He doesn't believe that any of the members could truly be evil and he thinks in the end things can eventually be made right once again. And as the leader and guardian of EXO, he doesn't want to do anything that would cause a rift between the members in the future. As you see in the MV, he feels trapped in a literal box, which is why that's where he is for the majority of the MV.
Suho feels like he can't do much to fix things at this point, so he uses his power of water as a mirror to show the members themselves and to get them to reflect on the destruction they've caused or to really pay attention to what is happening all around them. By forcing them to each look at themselves, they then realize that they can break free from the Red Forces' control.
With Suho's help, they all realize what they really want to do is what's best for the group, and in the end, they discover all that they can accomplish with the full potential of their powers unlocked.
There is tons more going on in this MV and there are a lot more theories, but these are just a few that come to mind at the moment.
"Electric Kiss" is one of EXO's Japanese tracks, so that explains why the MV is short. Japanese MVs are traditionally shorter abridged versions of the song. My theory is that it's a marketing tactic. Japanese producers want to make sure that fans are purchasing the song and album, so they make the MV short so you hear just enough of the song that you want to hear more which forces you to have to buy the song if you want to hear the full version.
Japanese songs and albums from Kpop artists are produced and marketed by Japanese companies, so that is why they have different/more strict copyrights. Often, the only way you can hear the full version of the song for free is if you watch a dance practice video, or you see a performance from one of their Japanese concerts. Plus, most of the time Japanese songs are not promoted outside of Japan, so the promotions for those songs are way different.
If you haven't yet, you should check out their dance practice for "Electric Kiss." It's one of EXO most complex set of choreography. It has some where around 30 transitions. This will also be a great opportunity for you to be able to hear the full version of the song.

Yes! I thought he would react to the dance practice of Electric Kiss. Anyway I suggest for you to react to CBX (exo sub-unit Chen, Baekhyun, Xiumin) and Electric Kiss
One theory is that "Love Me Right" is showing the members in all different dimensions or time periods throughout history. Each scene you see is in a different location or time period. Some say this MV establishes how EXO are traveling through history or between dimensions looking for the Red Force and trying to fix all the problems that the Red Force has caused. This could also be EXO traveling through time and history as they search for the two halves of the Tree of Life as well.
You see the red light because, as with everything EXO does, red represents the Red Force. So some theories are that the scenes with the red light are scenes where the Red Force has control and the scenes where you see the blue light are when EXO has the upperhand. And the scenes where you see the purple colors are times when the line is blurred and EXO and the Red Force are crossing paths -- red and blue make purple. Also since we now have more information about X-EXO, which we were introduced to in EXO's most recent MV, "Obsesion," some new theories are starting to suggest that maybe the red scenes are actually the X-EXO clones and the blue scenes are the EXO members.
And, although the smoke looks pink, I think we are supposed to recognize it as red smoke, which is another indication that whatever is causing the smoke has something to do with the Red Force. Some theories even think that scene might be connected to EXO's "Lucky One" MV storyline. In "Lucky One" we see the Red Force experimenting on EXO and Xiumin is trapped in a box filled with smoke or fog and in "Love Me Right" we see Xiumin doing some sort of experiment in the room with the red smoke.
At one point you see Xiumin mixing some sort of liquid and, although I am not sure what he is making or why, some theories speculate that that potion is created from flowers.
And flowers are a central theme in almost all of EXO's MVs. You see Xiumin mixing a similar liquid with flowers in EXO-CBX's "Blooming Day." MV.
The smashed TV is also thought to be connected to EXO's "Coming Over" MV storyline. In "Coming Over" you see EXO smashing TVs, mirrors, and surveillance cameras, in what is thought to be an attempt at stopping and preventing the Red Force from controlling humanity. And in EXO-CBX's MV for "Hey Mama" you will see that the CBX members have now infiltrated a TV news studio and they are working to stop the Red Force from controlling the news anchors and corrupting society by controlling the flow of news, etc.
Some have pointed out that the smashed TVs kind of look like running water. Water is Suho's superpower and fire is Chanyeol's power. So, Suho and Chanyeol could possibly be involved with whatever is happening in this scene.
To really understand what might be happening in this MV you pretty much have to pause the MV at every scene and really analyze what is happening in each frame. And, although I have watched this MV numerous times, because it is so complex, I still have no idea what most of the MV is trying to tell us.
But as you can see, everything that EXO does is connected. And the story continues in every MV. But what makes their storyline even more complicated is that nothing is in chronological order, so you really have to pay attention to even the most minute details to figure out where each MV or each scene within an MV might fight within EXO's larger storyline.
EXO's "Love Me Right" was released in June 2015 -- Kris and Luhan left the group in 2014 and Tao left around April 2015 -- so this was the first MV where there are 9 members. Lay didn't get restricted from the group until "Ko Ko Bop" which came out in 2017.
You really need to see "Love Me Right" live to appreciate the choreography. Check out a comeback stage or one of their live concert videos, even if it's just on your own time. :D

I love watching people react to Tempo because that’s the video that made me stan EXO and get into kpop in general. It’s still one of the most unique kpop songs because of that acapella bridge alone. Their sound is really different, leaning more towards rnb/dance/pop because of their vocals. I love that you’re reacting to EXO again after so long!!

I don't know why but I got the feeling that he's only goin' to focus on Kai and Baekhyun before I started this video. And I'm not wrong. In the whole 20 minutes (estimated time) of this video, I think he said Baekhyun and Kai's name for more than 50 times. He keeps on hyping up the two. I don't know if it's the effect of SuperM but I think it is. I love EXO. And I want to watch videos were they are equal to the eyes of the reactor. I'm not saying that I don't like the video. I just want the boys to receive love equally. Without prejudice u know.
Yes he was kinda biased because he mostly knew those two. But he also often mentioned Sehun, actually almost everytime you saw him (but tbh I think that‘s also because he can differentiate him already...). At least he talked about D.O.‘s vocals even though he didn‘t know him.
But some reactions of him bothered me too. For example even though he payed attention to Sehun, yet when Sehun rapped in Overdose he payed attention to Kai‘s dancing (who is like in THE BACK BACK)... bruh. And that wasn‘t the only time he didn‘t pay attention to what‘s going on. He concentrated on if Lay is in the MV everytime. Maybe inform yourself beforehand in order to avoid these kind of situations, or just ask us in the comments. Back when Exo was 12 (memories) they divided them into 6. Exo-k (Korean group) and Exo-m (Mandarin group). So both of their songs would be in Chinese and Korean but sung by the different members in each group. If that makes any sense. But in the videos it’s all of them but focused more on the members who sing on the specific versions.

I also adore the style of this song! It's got such a good groove. The vocal you are talking about is D.O. by the way! You should check out Shinee's "Married to the Music" for another fun groove song! And you are right that the newer generation has a lot more hip hop but like all music there are trends and I'm hoping some of the vocal-emphasized songs come back soon. I like both but I want more of a mix! Also, as far as Lay goes. He hasn't left EXO it's just that it's really hard for him to participate right now because China and South Korea on the best terms politically. Also, as a huge star in China it makes it even more difficult for Lay as he is given a kind of ambassador role in China. But things have been getting better recently and some of the restrictions have been lifted so hopefully we will see some Lay soon!

If you want to see Lay more in EXO's MVs you need to start watching BOTH the EXO-K (Korean) and EXO-M (Mandarin) versions of EXO's MVs. Lay is featured more prominently in the EXO-M versions because he is Chinese and a member of EXO-M.
As far as the story in "Overdose," what you need to keep in mind with everything you watch that has to do with EXO is that EVERYTHING they are involved in is connected and everything they do is designed to tell a little more of EXO's story. EXO's MVs are all like one continuous drama or mystery. As with everything EXO does, you have to remember that the whole concept of the group is that they are supposed to be aliens from Planet Exo and they came to Earth on a mission. Each of the members has a superpower that is unique to them and they have been sent to Earth to find and protect the Tree of Life from the Red Forces.
Almost all of EXO MVs will have an EXO-K and an EXO-M version and they each will be slightly different because they feature the different sub-units. And even after some of the EXO-M members left the group, they still produced almost all their main tracks and MVs in both Korean and Mandarin. You should also check out the Mandarin version of "Overdose" because each MV will have hidden messages and Easter eggs to tell a little more of EXO's story.
Plus, you need to hear what that song sounds like in Mandarin. :D (Most of the time I like the way the Mandarin versions of their songs sound better.)
"Overdose" is one of the last MVs where all 12 members are part of the song and MV -- "Overdose" came out in 2014 and Kris left the group right after this and Luhan left about 6 months later. How EXO worked back when they were split up into the two groups (EXO-K Korean and EXO-M Mandarin Chinese) was that all the members were in both MVs, but the K members were featured more prominently in the K version of the song and the M members were featured in the M version. If you watch both MVs you will see that the K members sing the main parts of the song in the Korean version, but in the Mandarin version the M members take over the main parts in the song and MV. So, even when the MVs look the same, they will always be slightly different because the members are assigned different parts in each MV.
For example, if you notice, in the Korean version the second rapper is Sehun. Because it's the EXO-K MV, the EXO-K rappers (Chanyeol and Sehun) are the ones that are part of the rap section. But if you watch the Mandarin version, you will see that Kris, Xiumin and Tao are the rappers because they are EXO-M's rappers. Tao is also the martial artist of the group, so he is the one that does the flips and stunts in EXO's routines.
Also something to note, you see Kai in the beginning and end of the MV in the Korean version because he is the center and visual of EXO-K and, if you watch the Mandarin version, you will see Luhan fills that same role because he is the center and visual of EXO-M. Plus, Kai and Luhan were each others' power counterparts as well. So this establishes the connections between EXO-K and EXO-M.
In the "Overdose" MV what you saw is that the members have been trapped in a maze by the Red Force and they are trying to use their superpowers to escape the maze. in the beginning you see D.O. with a box of sand that he pours out, and all the other members are using their powers to try to break free. For example, in the Korean version you see Chen throw a beam of light which is an example of them using their powers. Chen has the power to control lightning so he tossed a lightning bolt to Lay who has the power of healing. Lay is the only one who could have caught that light beam without being injured because he can heal himself.
In the beginning when you see the EXO-K members making that picture while standing on each other, they are forming their hexagon symbol which is EXO's official symbol. The different sets you see, are thought to be different rooms within the maze or maybe alternate realities or time periods created by the Red Force to lure the EXO members to them, so that explains why their outfits change in the different scenes, because they are alternate realities.
So, the story in the MV is pretty much the members trying to summon their powers to try and escape from the maze.The box that D.O. had at the beginning of the MV was full of dirt. D.O.'s superpower is the power of earth or dirt and it gives him super-strength, so he was using the sand to build his strength back up. The other members were also trying to use their powers of teleportation, fire, light, etc. And at the end of the MV we discover that the maze has only one way in and no way out. Which I think is meant to represent and mirror the fact that they are saying they are trapped by love and once you are in there is no way out. The maze was also EXO's logo for this album and it is shaped like EXO's hexagon symbol.The logo for this comeback was created by Chanyeol.
Although, in the song they're not overdosing on anything except love. As the English lines in the song say: "So bad, no one can stop her ... her love, her love (is) fantasy ... Oh she wants me, Oh she's got me ... Oh she hurts me ... someone call the doctor ... (her love makes me) overdose ... too much of your love makes me overdose ... too much overdose ... You're in my heart ... with you I can't stop", etc. This song is kind of a love song about how powerful love can be that it feels like no matter how much you try to resist it you keep getting pulled back in like a drug.
The girl that EXO sings about, and you sometimes see in EXO's MVs, is thought to be a manifestation of the heart of the Tree of Life, so that is why they are always protecting the girl or rescuing the girl, or in the case of "Overdose," they are feeling the pull of the "girl's" powers and why they can't resist her, because finding and protecting the "girl" -- Tree of Life -- is what EXO have been sent to Earth to do.
However, for the storyline in the MV there might be a little more at play than just being drugged by love. Some theories say that the story in "Overdose" is connected to the story in "Lucky One." In "Overdose" the members get trapped in a maze and they can't find their way out. The red light represents the Red Force who have trapped them in the maze. It is thought that the maze causes the members to get disoriented and sort of become incapacitated so they are unable to defend themselves. The maze dulls their senses and makes it so they lose the ability to use their powers at full strength, etc.The theory speculates that sometime after the end of the "Overdose" MV, EXO gets captured or transferred from the maze and brought to the government facility by the Red Force, and that is why we see them in a hospital-like setting in "Lucky One." In the story in the "Lucky One" MV, the members are drugged and they are being experimented on to discover what makes them so special. In "Lucky One," the members use their powers to break free from the facility. And this is where some theories connect the story in their "Lucky One" MV to the story in "Ko Ko Bop." One theory is that the story in "Ko Ko Bop" is them trying to detox from the drugs they were given in the government facility in "Lucky One," and the blue Ko Ko Bop drink Suho mixes and the members drink is supposed to counteract the effects of the drugs in their system. That is why they act so out of it and in a drugged state in "Ko Ko Bop."
As you can see all of the stories in EXO's MVs are connected. We just have to pay close attention to every detail and put the pieces together.
I know I have given you this information before, but just in case you need a refresher, here is a list to help you pinpoint the powers being used in their MVs and live performances.
EXO-K
💦 Suho (Kim JunMyeon) is the leader of the group and he is a lead vocalist -- his power is the ability to control water (Fun fact: Suho in Korean means guardian, as in the guardian of EXO. That's why as the leader of EXO, his stage name is Suho)
💡Baekhyun is a main vocalist and his superpower is the ability to control light
🔥Chanyeol is the main rapper and lead vocalist -- his power is the ability to control fire and his spirit animal is the phoenix.
🌏D.O. (Do KyungSoo) is a main vocalist and his power is the ability to control earth (dirt) which gives him strength/force
☄Kai (Kim JongIn) is a main dancer, lead vocalist and sub-rapper and his power is teleportation. (Kai means door or gateway, so his stage name symbolizes his role within EXO's storyline.

🌪Sehun is the youngest member of the group and he is a lead rapper, lead dancer and a vocalist -- his power is the ability to control wind
EXO-M

(As you can see, Xiumin and Chen were given stage names that sounded more Chinese so they would fit in better in EXO-M because they are the Korean members of the Chinese group)

Tao was still able to participate in Call Me Baby MV, but after that, he also left the group. That leaves Lay as the only Chinese member in the group.
EXO-K is not actually and solely a subgroup, but it was rather an EXO version. It can stand for EXO-Korean, which refers to songs that has Korean lyrics. The subgroup is composed mainly of Korean members: Suho, D.O, Sehun, Chanyeol, Baekhyun and Kai.
EXO-M is also like that, but it is the Mandarin version of their songs. Since the main fanbase of EXO is in China and Korea, they release both versions every comeback. EXO-M is composed of mainly Chinese members, but includes two Korean members to support vocal line : Chen, Xiumin, Luhan, Tao, Kris and Lay.
That is why the fandom name is EXO-L. It was in between of EXO-K and EXO-M.

Right. I shall explain EXO.
EXO was a 12 member group debuting in 2012. The units EXO-k and EXO-m were created so they were able to produce music in both Korean and mandarin (6 in each group). Three members, Kris, Luhan and Tao left in the years up to 2015 leaving EXO as a 9 member group. These 3 individuals still produce music today so go support. In 2016, Lay became inactive within the group due to political tensions between Korea and China- but he too produces music and continues to support EXO. HES STILL PART OF THE GROUP! Three members are currently serving in the army- as will all of them when they enlist for two years- it’s mandatory. Jongdae/Chen has recently announced his enlistment after the news of his fiancée and daughter came out- Congrats to Chen and his family.
