Just for context there are not 8 members but actually 9. One of the Lay(Chinese) he is not in some of EXOs most recent comebacks(except Don’t fight the Feeling) but he is in other EXO songs and mv. He’s still doing solo work and still part of the group. Luv ur reactions doe lol ♥️

Exo are from Exoplanet. Each of them has a power. That's their group concept. In their music videos they are often fighting against the Red Force who i think is an organization trying to experiment on them and use them. They want to go back to Exo planet i think. Idk it's been a while since i paid attention to the concept.

Tbh it really warms my heart seeing people discovering EXO and loving them🥺💖 And since you are starting this journey, I really recommend you watching their debut "MAMA", the music video is really cinematic and it gives you an intro to Exo´s lore (there are two versions of the song because they used to be 12 members, so they had two subunits EXO-K and EXO-M, I prefer the Korean version but both are really good tho). You can also watch "What is Love" (Baekhyun and D.O SLAYED this song), "History" (it has a cool vibe) and "Growl" (this one was the first song they sang in the Killing Voice video and the song that put EXO on the map) :) loved your reactions!!!

He has three MV’s and two films which serve as teasers for two of his albums (1st & 3rd) but he is mind blowing. All of his MV’s and dance practices for reason, mmmh, peaches, and rover. All of them are worth watching.

EXO's "Monster" was released in 2016, so there are 9 members in this MV. Like everything EXO does, the story in the MV is another chapter in EXO's storyline and it explains a little more of what EXO is doing here on Earth.
As the English lines in "Monster" say ... They're "Creeping, Creeping Creeping .... Creeping in your heart babe" "You can call me Monster (because) I'm creeping in your heart babe." "She got me goin' crazy." The song's called "Monster," so the words are about acting like a monster: "Don't be afraid, love is the way ... I'm sorry, you make me sooo craaaazzzy, you know you dooooo."
Therefore, the floating watch and the car that is on fire in reverse, etc., I think -- on top of being a metaphor in the story -- also was supposed to be the members using their superpowers. And the snake, like a monster, mirrors the beat of the song, which kind of slithers like a snake as a metaphor for the way the guy slithers in and out of the relationship stealing warmth and affection from the girl, but in the end, leaving her cold and alone like a cold-blooded snake, etc. The snake is also red, which means that it most likely represents something to do with the the Red Force.
However, if you look up the English translation of the lyrics, you will see in the song, the members are talking about a girl and they are telling the girl that "You can call me Monster" because I know I am bad for you and I will ruin you. I know that when we are over that I will have destroyed everything that is good about you, but I don't care because I want you so much that it doesn't matter to me. Which could be a metaphor for EXO's connection to the heart of the Tree of LIfe.
The woman in EXO's songs is often thought to be a metaphor and physical representation of the Tree of Life. That is why the members are always trying to save the girl or protect her, or they talk about being controlled by the power of the woman or they are worried about their passion destroying her, etc. It's EXO's job to protect the Tree of Life from the Red Force. EXO was sent to Earth on a mission to find the two halves of the tree and reunite them in order to restore peace in the world. The two halves of the tree -- EXO-K (Korean) represents one half and EXO-M (Mandarin Chinese) represents the other half -- were originally separated in order to keep the Red Force from gaining control. However, now, in order to fix all the things that are going wrong in the world, EXO needs to defeat the Red Force and find where the two halves of the tree have been hidden.
Therefore, the story in "Monster" is all about EXO's origin story and about how they are trying to stop the Red Force from corrupting humanity, while also trying to find clues to where the Tree of Life is located.
Also, the majority of the choreography for "Monster" has to do with the members using their powers, so when/if you watch the dance practice and/or a live performance, if you know what you are looking for, you will see that each move is done for a very specific reason. The X they make to represent EXO is only the beginning of the story in their choreography.
For example, D.O. has the power of super strength, so during his part in the song and choreography you will see that he waves his hands and the other members are pushed away from him or pulled toward him. When you see Suho in the middle of the group and they have a hold of his arms, he rotates his body around like swirling water because Suho has the power to control water. Xiumin has the power to control snow/ice/frost, so during one part of the choreography you will see that each of the members pause as if frozen as he moves in front of them. You see Kai slide backward and forward into the center of the group while waving his arms to represent him teleporting. And when Chanyeol jumps over Lay, Sehun and Xiumin, this could be him using his phoenix fire wings to fly, or it could be showing him leaping over flames because his power is the ability to control fire. Sehun has the power to control wind, so during his parts, you will see the other members shuffle around him as if they are creating a windstorm. And when they sit on the ground with their one knee in the air and rotate their bodies, it's supposed to represent a sundial -- EXO gets their power from the eclipse and their powers are affected by planetary and solar phenomenon, so the sundial is meant to represent the passing of time and their connection to the sun. (Even some of EXO's comebacks were released on days when we had a real eclipse or other planetary phenomenon, etc.)
You should also make note that "Lotto" is a prequel to "Monster," so when you watch their "Lotto" MV, just keep in mind that what you saw happen in "Monster" is what is going to take place after or in conjunction with the events in "Lotto".
How "Monster" and "Lotto" tie into EXOs larger storyline is a little open ended, but because "Lotto" is thought to be the prequel to "Monster," I think the story starts out in "Lotto" where the members have somehow infiltrated this big gambling ring and are undercover as they work to uncover a clue or something they need in order to accomplish their tasks here on Earth. I think the underground gambling establishment is run by a gang of bad guys who are probably members of the Red Force.
"Lotto" is where we are introduced to a girl who is being held captive. And ultimately, I think what EXO are trying to do is rescue the girl from the Red Force, but they are trying to do it without blowing their cover or being found out. So, that's why you see in "Lotto," and continued in "Monster," the members are fighting against the police because the police have come in to take down the gambling ring and rescue the girl, which is also what EXO are trying to do. However, the members of EXO don't want to be discovered, so they play along as if they are part of the bad guys. EXO are supposed to be going about their tasks here on Earth incognito, and humanity is never supposed to find out about EXO, so they are trying to keep a low profile.
As we see in the end of "Monster," Baekhyun disguises himself as one of the police and helps the other members escape from the back of the police van before they are taken to jail and/or captured by the Red Force, etc. (However, if you look closely, the members who are in the back of the police van are dressed in red, so the ones who Baekhyun rescued may be X-EXO -- EXO's alter ego clones -- and not EXO like we originally thought. Although I'm not sure whether at this point Baekhyun realizes these aren't the EXO members. Or maybe Baekhyun is also a member of X-EXO. Just another giant mystery we have yet to solve.)
You also see Lay, EXO's Chinese member, crouched in the middle of what looks like a pile of people -- I'm not sure whether these are the FBI agents, or if these are members of the Red Force -- and I think he is checking to make sure they are OK and possibly trying to use his power of healing to fix things and heal the injured.
Because some theories believe that EXO are traveling between time periods and dimensions, I think in "Monster" they also might be showing how some of the members are arriving on scene at different moments in the timeline of events that are taking place in the MV -- the members don't necessarily arrive at the location together -- as explained in their Pathcode teaser videos leading up to their "Call Me Baby" comeback. For instance, in "Monster" you also see Kai standing on or near a giant pile of people as well, and he seems to be standing over them. Some have pointed to this as possibly showing evil X-EXO Kai, who has done something bad, but I think this may be showing good EXO Kai, who has just shown up at that moment, observing what has taken place. Because Kai has the power of teleportation, he is the one that is in charge of bringing the members together and traveling between time and space, so I think he has shown up from a different time or place and is now trying to figure out what has happened, etc.
In EXO's "Obsession" MV the members in the bright colored clothing with the crazy makeup and hair are supposed to be X-EXO -- EXO's alter ego clones who have been created by the Red Force -- and the ones in the black or dark colored clothing are supposed to be EXO -- the good guys. So, in the parts where they are dressed in all black in "Monster" I think this is showing EXO, and where you see them in the clothing with red accents, this might by showing X-EXO. At the time when "Monster" was first released, we had no idea about X-EXO's existence, but since "Obsession" -- which is one of EXO's more recent releases -- we have started to go back and reanalyze some of their older MVs, and it appears that what we thought was always EXO, may have been in fact X-EXO some of the time.
As you can see, EXO's story is always evolving and changing, and just when you think you have one part understood, SM introduces a new piece of the story and changes the direction of the narrative.
Also, in EXO's MVs when you see red light or red objects this is thought to be where the Red Force has control, and when you see blue light or blue objects this is thought to be where EXO has the upperhand. However, if you see purple or red and blue in the same scene this is when EXO and the Red Force are battling for control -- red and blue mixed together make purple.
Unfortunately, as you can see, what makes EXO's storyline even more difficult to follow is the fact that nothing is ever in chronological order. So you really have to pay close attention to every detail, to even begin to make connections.

If you like EXO's version of "The Eve," you should hear the English version of the song. "The Eve" was co-wrote and composed by Henry Lau from Super Junior-M and he sings a short demo version of the song in English. There is a clip of Henry in the recording studio singing the song you should watch. Henry is the youngest member of Super Junior -- who are a senior group to EXO, also under SM Entertainment -- and he is considered a music genius.
The English version is less than 2 minutes long, but once you hear it you will understand why the choreo for this song was designed the way it is. 😁 (I'm pretty sure the move where they cross their arms above their head is supposed to look like their wrists have been tied up. Yes, the undertone of the song is all about sexual innuendo. LOL)
Henry is Chinese/Taiwanese-Canadian, so his first language is English. He recorded a demo of the song so everyone can hear the English lyrics that he wrote and get a feel for the original style of the song. But unfortunately, SM never had Henry record the full English version, which most listeners will agree is a shame, because Henry's vocals and the English lyrics would have made this song an even bigger hit than it already is.
As you can see, there is no MV for "The Eve" because it's a B-side track. After seeing the choreography, it would be pretty hard to imagine this song having an MV that would be acceptable for mainstream Korean audiences. LOL What kind of story do you think they would be telling in the MV while dancing like this? 😂

What you saw in the "Obsession" MV was that EXO's doppelgangers were actually their alter ego clones and they were using their superpowers, such as Chanyeol with his fire power, Sehun uses his wind power to deflect the arrows, Baekhyun uses his power of light as a saber in the fencing battle, and Suho (the one with red hair) controls water in the room with all the pictures of water, etc. to fight their other selves. You see the planet on fire in the end of the MV because it's supposed to show how the world is coming to an end as EXO (the good guys in all black) and X-EXO (the evil ones in the colorful outfits with crazy hair and makeup) battle for control, etc. (Each of the members are playing 2 different characters -- there are only 6 people in this MV.)
X-EXO has been created by the evil Red Force and EXO and X-EXO are fighting each other. EXO are trying to prevent X-EXO from taking over and corrupting humanity and X-EXO are trying to stop EXO from finding the Tree of Life and putting the two halves back together and restoring peace, etc.
To truly understand EXO, you need to be aware that EXO debuted in 2012. "Mama" is EXO's debut song and MV and it is how EXO was introduced to the world and it explains the group's concept -- and since then, everything SM does branches off from that storyline. From day one, EXO's concept is that they are aliens from planet Exo and they came to Earth with superpowers to protect the Tree of Life from the Red Forces. Each of the members has a superpower that is unique to them and almost every MV will have at least one, if not all of them, using their powers.
Now you also need to know that In the beginning there was 12 members and they were split up into 2 groups EXO-K and EXO-M. EXO-K sang and performed their songs in Korean and EXO-M sang and performed those same songs in Mandarin Chinese. EXO-K had 6 Korean members and EXO-M had 4 Chinese members and 2 Korean members. So to really understand their full origin story you have to watch both the K and the M version of "Mama", because the EXO-K version focuses on the K members and their powers and the EXO-M version focuses on the M members and their powers.
However, since then, 3 of the 4 Chinese members have left the group (short answer to focus on their solo work back in China), but there is still one Chinese member left, Lay. (Any performances or MVs you watch that took place prior to May 2014 you will see all 12 members.) However, now -- because they no longer have enough Chinese members -- they no longer do separate promotions, but they still produce almost all of their MVs and main songs in both Korean and Mandarin, they just now promote all as one group EXO with 9 members. However, in the "Obsession" MV there are only 6 members -- Suho, Baekhyun, Chen, Chanyeol, Kai and Sehun -- because 2 of the members -- D.O. and Xiumin -- are on hiatus during this comeback as they serve in the military; and due to the political issues between the Korean and Chinese government, Lay -- their Chinese member -- was unable to participate in activities with the group.
So each new MV or project from EXO tells another part of the story, and over the years we fans have started to create a timeline and idea of what we think each part of the story is telling us. However, the introduction of "Obsession's" part of the story really threw all of our theories for a loop and it has made us question everything we have ever thought was happening in EXO's storyline.
The MV starts out with the red and blue light because it's supposed to represent how EXO are currently battling with X-EXO and the Red Force for control. In EXO's MVs when you see red light or anything that is red, this represents the Red Force, and when you see blue light or anything that is blue, this is thought to represent EXO. Therefore, when you see red and blue in one scene or purple -- red and blue mixed together make purple -- this is showing how the line between the two sides is being blurred and they are fighting each other, etc.
Since "Obsession," some think maybe EXO has been trapped somewhere from the very beginning and it has been X-EXO that we have been following all along. But I think it's still even more complex than that. I think at times we have been watching EXO, and at times we have been watching X-EXO -- with the release of "Obsession" we have only just discovered that the story hasn't necessarily been showing EXO the whole time.
With the new information provided to us through "Obsession," it also makes me question how Lay fits within the X-EXO/EXO storyline. Maybe he is one of the members who has been able to break free or avoid the Red Forces' control. In Lay's solo MV for "Sheep," the Allen Walker relift version, we see everything burning outside as if an apocalypse is happening. Maybe "Sheep" is showing us the planet burning from Lay's viewpoint, like we see the world burning at the end of the "Obsession" MV.
Also, I believe that the storyline in "Obsession" is connected to SuperM's debut "Jopping" MV storyline. If you pay attention to what Baekhyun and Kai were wearing in "Obsession," those outfits are very similar to the black outfits that Baekhyun and Kai are wearing in the "Jopping" MV. Kai is even wearing the same backpack parachute in both MVs. Which seems to be SM Entertainment's way of making sure we see the connection between those MVs.
Therefore, it is thought that, as part of SuperM's storyline, Baekhyun and Kai have gathered the best of the best of SM's groups -- Taemin from SHINee, Taeyong and Mark from NCT, Ten from WayV and Lucas who is a former member of WayV -- to help them battle the Red Force, and maybe, eventually, take down X-EXO. Just like the Marvel Avengers come together as individual superheroes with their own storylines to create the Avengers and to fight evil, it is thought that SuperM is coming together to create the ultimate supergroup to help EXO fight the evil and corruption inflicted on humanity by the Red Force.
Unfortunately, to make it even more difficult to understand, each part of the story is not necessarily in chronological order, so we as EXO-L (EXO fans) have to become detectives and analyze every aspect of all of their teasers, MVs, song lyrics, albums, concert VCRs, choreography and even live performances and piece it all together to understand the story behind it all. And not only are EXO's and SuperM's MVs and storylines connected, but pretty much all of SM's groups have storylines and concepts that connect together, which is designed to become part of one giant graphic novel or movie in the SM Culture Universe.
To help you pinpoint the powers being used in EXO's MVs and live performances, here is a list of the members and what their special power is.
EXO-K
💦 Suho (Kim JunMyeon) is the leader of the group and he is a lead vocalist -- his power is the ability to control water (Fun fact: Suho in Korean means guardian, as in the guardian of EXO. That's why as the leader of EXO, his stage name is Suho.)
💡Baekhyun is a main vocalist and his superpower is the ability to control light
🔥Chanyeol is the main rapper and lead vocalist -- his power is the ability to control fire and his spirit animal is the phoenix.
🌏D.O. (Do KyungSoo) is a main vocalist and his power is the ability to control earth (dirt), which gives him strength/force
☄Kai (Kim JongIn) is a main dancer, lead vocalist and sub-rapper and his power is teleportation (Kai means opening as in a door or gateway, so his stage name is meant to symbolize his role in the group.)
🌪Sehun is the youngest member of the group and he is a lead rapper, lead dancer and a vocalist -- his power is the ability to control wind
EXO-M
❄Xiumin (Kim MinSeok) is the oldest member of the group and he is a lead vocalist and lead rapper and his power is the ability to control snow/ice (frost)
🦄 Lay (Zhang Yixing) is the Chinese member of the group, he is a main dancer, lead vocalist and rapper -- his power is the ability to heal anything.
🌩 Chen (Kim JongDae) is a main vocalist and his power is the ability to control thunder/lightning/electricity
(As you can see, Xiumin and Chen were given stage names that sounded more Chinese so they would fit in better in EXO-M because they are the Korean members of the Chinese group.)
The Chinese members who are no longer part of the group, but are still an important part of EXO's storyline:
🐉 Kris was the leader of EXO-M he was a main rapper and vocalist -- his power was the ability to fly and his spirit animal was a dragon (Kris left the group in April 2014.)
💭 Luhan was a main vocalist and his power was telekinesis (The ability to control things with his mind) (Luhan left the group in October 2014.)
⏰Tao (Z.Tao) was a lead rapper and vocalist and the martial artist of the group, so he did the flips and stunts in the group's routines. His power was the ability to control time (Tao ended activities with EXO in August 2015.)

Oh and just to add some to what some other comments said about Chen: he is literally THE kindest person ever. Fans' nickname for him is "Kim Kind" (Kim Jongdae + Kind). D.O.'s nickname for Chen is "angel." Sehun said "Chen's smile is Exo's treasure," and that Chen is always bright and cheerful and never gets angry. Sehun and Chanyeol both said Chen is so kind to the point of almost being "like a fool" (aka someone who is so kind that others could easily take advantage of his kindness). Many Exo members have said he is the most kind and considerate (about others feelings) person they know. Many staff and people who have worked with Chen have also said the same thing. So yeah, know that you're not only love THE vocal king of kpop, but you are loving a kind and caring person. And at the same time, he's such a mentally/emotionally strong person. He's one of the members who rarely tears up (and has never cried) in public/in front of fans. He is the emotional support/backbone of Exo. And he never lets anything get him down. He has said a couple times to fans the message that "we must all face bad times/difficulties but the sun will rise the next day and as long as you do try your best, you'll have no regrets." I really admire this kind of strength in him.

i was lucky enough to have discovered exo back in 2016 when yt recommended me the Monster mv and let me tell you when i watched it it shifted my whole worldview😭 still one of my fave title tracks ever like it just HITS every time without a fail, baekhyun bias (my ult of ults) since the very first second i saw him in tht damn lip chain with the rest of exo bein my wreckers (chanyeol, kyungsoo n jongdae aka jongdaddy aka chen main ones lol), rest assured they will never ever disappoint with their music be it group, unit or solo, and the visual disrespect is also always there so just a fair warning😂

In EXO's "Power" MV it is thought that EXO are on Planet Exo and, before the "Obsession" MV came out, we all thought EXO was trying to get their powers back from the Red Force. The original theory was that the robot, which is being controlled by the Red Force, stole EXO's powers and the members had to fight to get their powers back. That's why the robot is labeled RFO5, which stands for Red Force. Not sure what the 05 means, but some theories say that EXO's sister group, Red Velvet, could possibly be the Red Force. If you watch some of Red Velvet's MVs you might be able to make some connections between EXO's storyline and Red Velvet's storyline. Red Velvet has 5 members, so maybe the 05 stands for the 5 members. But whatever it means, the one thing I am sure of is, it's another clue to EXO's origin story.
The powers the robot has are all of EXO's powers. For example, you see the robot with Chanyeol's fire orb use it to shoot fire, and the blue orb I think is Suho's water power, etc. On each of EXO's "watches" you see a symbol, which is the symbol that represents each of their powers. In EXO's debut "Mama" MV we see each of the members has a symbol that represents their power -- If we were able to see all of their watches, I am pretty sure, we would have seen each one displayed that member's symbol.
The hooded figure and the part about the two suns, etc. at the beginning of this MV, is a reference to EXO's origin story and it's supposed to remind you of the narration in the intro of "Mama". And the animated scene where you see the football helmet, the song that was playing was EXO's "Love Me Right." EXO's "Love Me Right" MV has an American football theme, so that scene was a teaser to that song, which was on their previous album. That is why the narrator kept saying "that's not the right location today," possibly showing how each of EXO's MVs or parts of their story are located within a different dimension or time period.
Chen's power is the power to control thunder, but where there is thunder there is always lightning, so Chen also has control of electricity. Lightning is what creates thunder. Therefore, some theories say that is why Chen is the one that is able to plug the power source back in without getting zapped because he has the ability to control electricity; and because Xiumin's power is snow/ice/frost he gets zapped when he tries to plug the power in because snow and ice doesn't mix well with electricity, which is why you see him lying on the ground with his legs in the air shaking next to Chen.
The funny wiggly toy is supposed to represent the robot after he has been deactivated by the EXO (or maybe X-EXO) members. It is now dead and it no longer has any power, etc.
On a side note, as you see in this MV, each of the members is represented by a different color, which coincides with their power. EXO's fandom color is "Cosmic Latte" (greyish-tan) -- Cosmic Latte is said to be the color created when you combine all the colors of the stars together -- but the group's lightstick is actually multi-colored. Each color represents one of the members. The lightstick has bluetooth and during concerts the lighting technicians can control the fan's lightsticks and change the colors or make them flash or strobe, etc. along with the beat of the music. Therefore, during different parts of the concert, depending on which of the members are featured at that moment on stage, they often change the color of the lightstick lights to the color that represents that member.
Also, as you see in the MV, yet again, EXO's powers are controlled by the eclipse. The eclipse is where EXO summons their abilities from and that's why the majority of the stories in their MVs revolve around an eclipse of some kind or something to do with the moon. And that's why a few of their comebacks and MV releases have been on days when we have had a real eclipse, or some sort of real planetary phenomenon, etc.
EXO's Chinese member, Lay, is the only member who is missing in "Power" -- this MV was during the start of when he was no longer able to work with EXO. So, because Lay was unable to participate in this MV, as part of EXO's storyline, Lay was unable to collect his power orb at this time. So originally fan theories thought that the EXO members got his power back for him and they sent Lay his power orb in the mail. We see Lay receive a package, which is thought to contain his orb, in his solo "Namanana" MV.
However, Lay is not the only one who doesn't get his power back right away. If you look, when all the members powers are being reunited, Baekhyun is the only member who is not shown receiving his power orb at the same time as the rest of the members. In a lot of EXO's MVs, Baekhyun is one of the main characters and he is usually singled out or stands apart from the members. So theories originally speculated that maybe Baekhyun -- who has the ability to control light -- had been corrupted by the Red Force. But as with everything that EXO does, we fans are still trying to figure out what it all means.
Although, now that we have new information about EXO's story -- since "Obsession" -- the new theory is that the "Power" MV is actually showing us X-EXO in training and Baekhyun has always been the one who the Red Force was unable to steal his power orb, which is why we don't see him in the battle and he appears later on in "Power".
This is another instance where, now that we know X-EXO are the ones that are dressed in bright colors, with crazy hair and makeup that, in hindsight, we think "Power" might be showing us a piece of X-EXO's storyline, instead of EXO like we originally thought.
Now that we know about X-EXO, it makes sense that "Power" is showing us X-EXO's storyline because most of the members in this MV have blue eyes or different eye colors, which we originally thought was just because it makes them look more like comic book characters to go along with the theme of the MV. However, we have now realized, within SM's SM Culture Universe storyline, when characters within SM MVs have blue eyes or different eye colors this usually is an indication that that person isn't themselves, i.e. they aren't who we think they are. It is thought to be used to show that they are a clone or alter ego, etc., under the control of an evil force.
Also take notice of the letter that is on the collar of the Kitten. If you look, you will see it's an L. It is thought that the kitten is supposed to represent us EXO-Ls. We are the ones that are supporting "EXO," dispensing power and giving them strength, etc. That's why Baekhyun is seen lovingly holding the kitten. If Baekhyun is the only one not under the Red Forces' control, then he is an EXO member, so he is protecting the Kitten (EXO-Ls).
In the "Power" MV, fan theories originally thought that once they defeat the robot and get their powers back, EXO are then sent to Earth to start their mission. That is why at the end of this MV you see Baekhyun being sent to Earth where he lands in the water. However, now maybe Baekhyun wasn't necessarily on Earth, but maybe, because he is the one that isn't under the Red Forces' control, this scene is showing us something else. The song you hear playing at the end of the MV is another song from their Power album -- it is called "Sweet Lies." (There is no MV for it because it's a B-side track.) Theories have also been that when the members all arrived on Earth none of them arrived together and they each landed in different locations all over the world -- which is explained in EXO's "Call Me Baby" pathcode teaser videos -- so that might be why at the end of the "Power" MV you see Baekhyun by himself floating in the water.
As you can see, even though this is one of their more recent songs and MVs the story in the MV is actually part of the very beginning of EXO's origin story, so this is an example of how their storyline is not in chronological order. We EXO-L's have to really pay attention to figure out where each part of their story fits within the storyline with each new song and MV release, including all their solo content and their sub-unit releases, etc.
Also, it's worth noting that if you were to pause the MV at the part in the beginning before the MV really starts, at the part where all the members are in that "club room" hanging out. You would see that everything in that room is there for a reason, and it all gives clues to different things to do with EXO, such as the date of their next comeback, what the theme of the next MV might be, the title of the song, etc. The posters on the walls and even the way the members are positioned in the room and what they are doing is all another part of EXO's story, and it gives us a few more clues to what to expect in future chapters of EXO's epic novel or action adventure/mystery movie series. You will be surprised the things you can find within just that one scene.
If you haven't already, you really should check out a comeback stage for "Power" because even if you have seen their concert performance of "Power", the concert version is the remixed version, so the choreography is different then what you will see in their comeback stage, ruclips.net/video/QxYzQzqrKOQ/видео.html. "Power" was also used as one of the theme songs, along with their song "Growl," during the 2018 winter Olympics, and EXO even performed both songs during the closing ceremony.
Fun fact: If you purchase this album, one version comes with a comic book/graphic novel that continues EXO's storyline. And you only get to see those clues to the story if you own the album. Just another example of how EVERYTHING SM creates for EXO continues their concept and storyline. :D

J'ai l'impression qu'on a eu un peu le même parcours dans la découverte de la Kpop...Ce qui n'est pas bien vieux de mon côté, juste un peu plus d'un an maintenant. BTS est le premier groupe que j'ai découvert et qui m'a complètement "harponnée". Au point que pendant des mois, je refusais de m'intéresser à quelconque autre groupe. Un peu comme si ça les trahirait lol ( je sais ouai c'est n'importe quoi mais c'est très étrange de le ressentir...comme une trahison, inexplicable !)
Finalement après des mois de MV, In the soop, run Bts, etc...la curiosité l'a emporté et j'ai poussé les portes du Kparadis !😄
Dans cet ordre, je suis alors "tombée en amour" pour Stray Kids ( que j'ai vu pour la première fois vendredi au Lollapalooza de Paris), Ateez (vu en concert en mars), EXO, SHInee, Enhypen, TXT et plus récemment Seventeen.
A chaque fois je me dis que je ne peux pas en absorber plus mais...au final...chaque groupe a un charme, une ( des) voix, une complicité, une attitude qui lui est propre et finalement ( de mon point de vue) les apprécier (+++) ne dénigre en rien l'affectif qu'on peut déjà avoir pour d'autres.
Par contre ce que je réalise c'est que je n'écoute quasiment plus de musique occidentale. C'est comme si "la Kpop" était si diversifiée, riche et dense en contenu/style qu'elle suffisait à combler mes oreilles (les voix), mes yeux (la qualité des Mvs), mon coeur (avec toutes ces personnalités attachantes) et je ne parle même pas de l'attractivité visuelle/physique...on ne va pas se mentir ! Bref tous les sens en éveil, de la satisfaction en barre !
Souvent, c'est un des membres qui capte mon attention et quand finalement j'approfondis un peu dans la connaissance du groupe, je ne suis plus capable de désigner un seul bias ^^
Pour moi, EXO se distingue par une forme de...maturité. Je ne sais pas trop pourquoi. Peut-être à cause de leur qualité de voix, de leur complémentarité, ou parce que les MVs sont moins "cute", même dans leurs début (bien que je n'ai encore sans doute pas tout vu! ) Quoiqu'il en soit, le nouvel album est un petit joyau.
