Just purchased an Ania Pro. Looking forward to trying it out on my P6 compared to my Ania. Hope it makes a big difference. Do the mounting screws of the Ania work with the Ania Pro? Thanks for the review.
Mike can I use the Ania Pro moving coil on. a P6 with an older Yamaha integrate amp it has a phono stage built in or do I need a special phono pre amp for the Ania? Thank you
Yes exactly same cartridge and ancillary equipment..Participants not told what brand of audio gear or indeed what format the music is replayed on..(vinyl, cd or streamed)
It should be done to demonstrate to potential buyers just how big the difference SQ is between entry level turntable and high end table...P1 costs around £300 P10 around £3k...is there 10 times better sound?...the law of diminishing returns comes to mind
I have had the Rega P6 and Ania Pro cartridge for a year now. I have noticed that this cartridge doesn't sound as spectacular on mono audiophile LPs. Is there a reason?
You didn't say that in your initial comment. Elliptical (Ania) vs Vital profile nude (Ania Pro) stylus, deeper in groove, better for stereo detail not necessarily for mono.
I am using p6 and just set up ania pro. What setting do you recomend for project tube s for this cartridge? As i am getting heavy hissing nioise with various settings including the recomended settings. Also the stylus tip is very close to the vinyl so much so that at the end of playback lifting the arm with the lever does not lift the cartridge off the vinyl surface.
You need to adjust your cueing lever for the height of the cartridge. Small set screw on the side of the cue lever to adjust height. As for the preamp I'd bet your getting tube hiss with the high gain needed for the LOMC. I'd switch to a better phono pre and go with solid state.

Yes and the three point mounting system for alignment.
Needs 54-60db gain and check the loading settings on Rega's website, I believe 1000pf of capacitance

hi, let me answer. MM phono preamps are not suitable for this cartridge, because this cartridge is MC. You need a special preamp for MC cartridge
In blind listening test hard pushed to tell difference in SQ betwern P1 and P8
Hmm...ok, would like to see that test. Same cartridge? Same phono preamp?

Put a rega carbon on both P1 and P8
So.....this hasn't been done you are just saying??

Would my Parasound XRM phono pre provide enough power and low noise with this Ania Pro cartridge?
Should be fine
What about the Exact MM with the P6? Any thoughts?
Excellent combination, and will work with MM phono stage so no need for a costly preamp upgrade if you do not have MC.

It is not a mono cartridge. There are cartridges specifically built for mono playback.
@@HudsonValleyHiFI I don't think you understood my concern/question.
I fully understand

@@HudsonValleyHiFI Mono LPs sounded better on my Ania MC than when I upgraded to Ania Pro MC.

@@HudsonValleyHiFI Thanks. Any suggestion for a good phono preamp for ania pro.
When’s Rega going to start making real Plint’s?
Not too bright I see...
