How would they take control if they only have distribution rights? Seriously, do people not know what distribution rights are? It could be a crossover movie/mini-series (ala *Learning with Pibby: Apocalypse* ) or a non-PC 'successor' to *I Dream of Jeannie* but the risks they take could yield heavy rewards. Hope (for better entertainment) springs eternal.
The way this show has been rapidly expanding in terms of popularity is insane. First they got Hot Topic merch, then a toyline from Moose set to launch next year, some Spirit Halloween costumes, a manga, and now they're joining a streaming venture with Netflix?! Tell me this isn't an absolute win for indie animation.

Hazbin doesn't count as indie. Only the pilot was, and the series ditched everything that made it indie because Viv wanted Broadway stars and the animation is outsourced. TADC is still 100% indie.

When I saw the YT community post last night, I was kind of comforted by the fact that Netflix doesn’t own their asses, but I was still skeptical because Glitch is a company. I felt it was still possible that whoever created the post was told to lie just so the heads of the company wouldn’t take any heat. Vail, I can’t thank you enough for sharing Goose’s statement on this. I wanted their statement on the matter more than anyone else’s, but I shut down my Twitter for the sake of my mental health. Hearing the creator say they still have full control makes me much more comfortable.

It seems like just yesterday that I had just heard about it and I watched the pilot for the first time as soon as I found out it blew up.
Technically, only 11 months right now since the first official episode premiered on October 13, 2023.
Although The Amazing Digital Circus official trailer was uploaded on September 22, 2023, so that turned 1 year old recently.
So not just Netflix wanting the show there but also approach it while also allowing it on yt? That's not just a win but a huge win
